This in the Video is not "Off-Road". For real "Offroad trails" you will get a disaster with this 267kg massive bike. Its too fat. Also a BMW GS is too much - but it is 30kg lighter..and about the Punch more powerful - its faster 0-200kmh. And this is the old generation. This year comes the new Triumph with less weight than the Yamaha and 137hp, next year the new GS with something about the same.. the Tenere was old before it was on the market. The people would have liked more a 900 Tenere
@dakaraabbccdd While the GS is probably superior, so is the price. Here in the US the GS sells for $18k, Yamaha will sell for $14k. That's a big difference that will certainly taken into consideration by many when choosing which bike to get.
Not everybody wants a BMW. I'd trust a Yamaha to be more reliable anyday. And yes I have quite a few BMWs already, every Oilhead has let me down mechanically in some way.
Would you really bring these on a huge off road trip though? I think I'd rather something lighter to pick up. Still a great great bike though.

@steinert But have you seen the triumph? It looks awesome but to me looks to much like a road bike.

GS wannabe... SuperTen owners will buy GSA one day... so they might just have bought GS at the first place...

I understand you. But Yamaha had to build this bike with all these things, otherwise how would it face the BMW 1200 GS?
