I am I guy that loves and drives only German Vehicles. But I have to say, for the price and today's Economy, I WOULD BUY THIS CAR. Love the feel. Love the look. Love the Price. It's not a German Vehicle, but it sure does mock it better than it's competition. Good Job, Kia.
@xxdomeafvrndiexx Peter Schreyer (born 1953) is an automobile designer, widely known for his design contributions to the Audi TT[1][2][3] and as the Chief Design Officer at Kia Motors (2006).[4]
In 2006 Car Design News called the Audi TT one of "the most influential automotive design in recent time.
He designed the Kia Forte, you are still getting a "German Designed Car".
I'm glad I got the EX, the chrome interior on the SX really turns me off. I'm fine with the 2.0. and I don't like shiny shit in my driving space. After test driving the SX, the 2.4 is nice, but I'm more worried about fuel economy then acceleration, and I really, REALLY don't like distracting, shiny garbage staring at me every moment I'm in the car.
Get the EX, and spend your money on the fuel package, which gets you the 5 speed, and a sunroof.
Hi, Please help!! Stop at 0:37 to 0:45 sec!! Anyone know in which website can i get this Forte EX model dashboard radio panel for OEM DVD player at lower price?? Which means its without the original CD changer and radio. Its just a big rectangle hole replacing it. Thanks in advance.!!!!:))
My 2010 Kia Forte Ex a.k.a the Maxter looks like three cars all wrapped in one. The front most notabally looks exactly like a Honda Civic. The side like a Chevy Cruze and the rear looks exactly identical to the Audi Quattro sports coupe. I always was a Dodge fan and still have passion for the brand but for reliability, fuel milage, and price I just had to get a Kia Forte. Not bad view from any angle cus it is one hell of a stylish car especially when I have black tinted windows. Now go get one!
LX is actually the base model...but theres little difference.
the EX has the side mirrors with integrated blinkers, and i think theres a bit of chrome in the front grill. there are more options available for the ex over the lx as well.
I rented this car for a weekend trip and loved it. This car drove like a dream. I was sad to part with it. LOL! Hopefully it'll be the next car I get in about two to three years from now.

Like the review. Have seen the car & it seems well put together, looks, features, comfort. I do believe the Kia is to this decade what Toyota & Honda were to the mid-1980's--major improvement in quality, safety--great value. Resale value will improve with time, so as to rival Toyota/Honda. A car w/bumper2bumper warranty of 5y/60,000 will ultimately not disappoint.
@realdeal987 ...And at the '"end of the day" the Honda Civic,(except for the SI)..is still a boringly slow, predictable tin can perfect for high school girls and little old ladies. The same goes for the Toyota Corrolla. Give me a break.....resale value is only good if you plan selling your car every 4 or 5 years.....some folks keep thier cars for much longer.
I test drove a Forte yesterday. It was sunny, but it wasn't too hot. It rained 3 hours before. When the salesman pulled out the car from the lot, he had to turn the AC all the way up because it was pretty hot inside. I sat in, it was still hot. I put my hands over the vent but it didn't feel cold. After the test drive, it wasn't hot anymore, but I didn't feel cold either. It is only May, I wonder what it will be like in August. Is the AC just really weak? How about heat?
@0ct0ct09 it works based on just 2 lights: red and blue...the red light turns on when the car is getting hotter than normal, Blue light turns on when the car starts and the engine is cold, and it stays on until the engine reach the regular operational temperature, then it turns off. Simple, not temperature clock, but 2 lights to let you know the engine temp.
this car is a great buy until you see that kia charges over 1,000 for the a/c package...that pretty much voids its appeal for me ....come on kia...whats hard about making a/c standard? its 2009 ?
Love love love that color. My fave on the Forte. Also love the coffee leather. They both make the car look so much more upscale. I'd buy this car over a dustbuster inspired Civic any day.
KIA is coming strong,i was in love with optima but the forte is my fav now.i prefer color white.i dont like the look of the back of sdn, koup looks much better.move civic, scion tc!
I think the current Forte currently has a 5 or 6-speed auto now.

I read other reviews that the Forte doesn't get the posted mileage, and it's actually uses 20% more gas, anyone has this experience ?

Prior comment on AC intrigues me. I'll check AC.

Love the car, like the traction control handling and 4wheel anti lock brakes. Auto dimming mirrors are a treat. Should make them for side view also.

How come this car doesn't have a heat indicator for the engine. How are you suppose to tell ??
