  • can you upload what happened to the world that day pleaseee

been looking for my bump city CD can't find it anywhere

  • As much as I love their albums, they're so much better in live recordings

  • The Bass makes this song!

  • this is my homework

  • Epic

  • Interresting FACTOID:

Sly and the Family Stone was the first "black" act to "sing" and "play" their instruments. Prior to Sly, groups (guys or girls) would sing and bands would play - of course Sly was multi-everything.

  • 7 years of drum experience and this song is still difficult to play with every detail. I love this

  • the bass... the bass is insane... he is THE TEMPO

  • @monakian I wouldn't go as far to say that. David Garibaldi holds one heck of a back-beat!

  • @jonster921 nono, im a drummer. But talking about Garibaldi´s tempo is redundant =)

  • @jonster921 the man is driving the bus! gettin it D-I-D!

  • its a toss up between ewf chicago and tower as for horns

  • Comment removed

  • @cakafella Yea I'm wit dat.Them 3 rite there. The horn game was the thing every 1 then was tryna capitalize on.That was suppose to be mark of excellence.

  • There are all these people out there today who wear their stingy brim fedoras, own just about every digital device Apple will market, hell, even wore T-shirts with Jobs' image when he died, are tatted and pierced even in places that have got to be uncomfortable, and live in neighborhoods like Williamsburgh in NYC. But can any of them answer the question posed by this song? Have any of them ever even listened to this song? To paraphrase the lyrics: Sometimes hipness is what you ain't!

  • great...

  • Compare this outstanding stuff to the Hip Hop CRAP being pushed out now and all I can say is, "what the hell happened?"

  • That's the SHIT!!!!,Tower of Power,classic.

  • Best funky jazz R&B fusion band ever!

  • Classic!

  • there is only so much oil in the ground was THE song which flipped me out when I heard it in my boyfriends room in 1974. He had just bought a Marantz Quadrophinic system and everyone would gather at his place and play TOP over and over, dancing all over the room and annoying the tennants downstairs. Everyone was really skinny in those days because we danced CONTSTANTLY

  • Awesome!!!

  • Yeah baby, that bassline, drummer and lead singer! :-D

  • Yeah baby, that bassline and lead singer! :-D

  • Like the eternal answer to What is Hip? and How many licks does it take to reach the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop? The world never know.

  • @ebf1957 The last line should read "The world may never know".....Just an FYI

  • @ebf1957 696 licks to get to the center.
