  • Just beautiful! It's a very special moment the first time you releve on pointe shoes. ;) I've watch some of your other videos and you are improving so quickly! You will get to ABT; just keep it up! I stopped training at 14 due to highschool and wanting to try other things. As an adult, I rediscovered Oriental dance, fell in love/obsession, and now dance professionally (as a side job; it's actually much harder to make a living at it than ballet). So, DON'T STOP TRAINING. ;)

  • @tinkershimmy Thanks! I like the oriental dance . Is that like shen yun? Have you heard of that show?

  • I remeber my first class in pointe like it was yesterday :)

  • Did it hurt when you first started?

  • It's a brutal sport. I'm glad I never continued dancing beyond age 4. I love watching it, but after meeting some dancers and the hard life they lead, I just can't appreciate it like I used to.

  • awww u were so cute! and u can rlly see the improvement between then, and now! :)

  • Happy birthday for last week! sorry i forgot to comment!!

  • u need to imorove your turning:D

  • @angel37cute it's better now :) couple years later

  • must be very careful at age 10 the ankles might not be strong enough to handle the weight of your body

You don't want to break an ankle !

Hopefully you did ankle strengthening before hand

  • I love Ballet =D

I wish I could go to ballet classes, but I just can't =( Money doesn't let me...

A year ago, when I was 17, I just went like a month to a class, it was great, I was with 11 to 13 years old girls, but I didn't mind...BUT!...Money made me stop =(

If someday I'm able to dance at least just in classes, I will do it =) Even if I'm 30 =) I don't care =)

  • @Asteriiaz you are old enough try an adult beginner class you can pay drop in and only go when you can ;)

  • @Asteriiaz Same for me! But atleast I go to a school for the arts where they have ballet.... it's my major. I hope you can find some way to do ballet someday! :)

God bless and good luck <3

  • You are amazing! I adore ballet, and I am a year older than you but I wish I was as good as you!

  • This is great good job how old are you now ?

  • @TheBalletdiva I'll be 13 on dec 2 ;)

  • @ubermomof3 she was ready and her teachers said so! Get a life!

  • Thank you

  • its very dangerous fro 10 year olds to start on pointe, it can cause permanent muscle and tendent ingeries. Since the tendons are still growing.

  • I just got up en pointe I'm soo exciyed

  • @1300dancingqueen congrats!!!

  • the youngest anyone should start on Pointe should be 12 years old, when their bones arent as soft and vulnerable in their feet and ankles. And even if they are of age they may still need to work on strengthening ankles as well as good posture and turnout.

  • were are the pointe shoes?

  • I have been dancing for 8-9 years and have developed legs and a turn out and balance for en Point. The only thing keeping me away from considering point is that my knees are week. I am very exited to see if I will be able to go onto point though. =)

  • I could do what she did without pointe when I was about 6 years old

  • @amybehappy good for you

  • i started pointe yesterday! :D

  • I was reading through the comments, and you should stretch for 15 minutes everyday. Trust me, my instructor has danced in 4 professional companies and is teacher certified. I dance in a small studio, but my instructor is amazing! Ever heard of Melissa Noe?

  • Her feet in pointe shoes seem so large compared to her body :OOO

  • my studio doesn't let most girls go on until they're 15, and have a completely 180 degree turn out

  • @2010yourmomsaysshmow wow that seems late . I mean me in this video is a little too soon. I went off then on again after i got stronger in a few mos after this video - it helped a lot but I thought if you waited too long you lose flexibility in the feet making it harder. Like the ligaments need to get gently stretched over time on pointe and is easier when you are younger.

  • @2010yourmomsaysshmow your studio has very strict standards, they must care about you alot.

  • I really hate to see small kids this skinny, it makes me feel ill, it doesn't looks healthy :/

  • @TheMazzatron she has a small frame- trust me she is normal size for her height etc she's very petite and eats whatever she wants but does have the habit of choosing healthy food. ;)

  • how does she do that

  • @tbear4702 Many years of practice. :)

  • she is flexible

  • bent knees on half pointe=bent knees on pointe

  • @huixue = exactly why she went off for a few mos and then back on again and switched studios. ;)

  • your really good!

  • I get my first pointe shoes this week! Yaaay!

  • @belieberchick101 yaaaaaay! ;) <3

  • @belieberchick101 Congrats! Im getting my first pair very shortly myself!

  • I think she did great for her first time! :) Pushing onto that block can be a pain in the butt till you get used too it!

  • i think u rnt ready in this vid but u definantly ready now but good job

  • @TheBalletdiva ya i switched schools and went off for a while then back on again. ;) It made sense for the long run.

  • wow thats amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • That's so cute and the teacher looks so proud! :)

  • I'm not sure you're ready yet...

  • @iloveselenagomez144 actually I did go off for a few mos then back on after gaining some strength and changing studios ;-)

  • Her arms are to high in 1st position and her pirouette position (retiré) needs to be below the knee cap

  • I wish I would have stuck with Ballet when I was younger, and my parents didn't take me out. I'm 21 and still wish to be in Ballet.

  • Do you go to City Ballet? Cause I think I saw you at rehearsal!

  • @TheIzzy0319 I don't take class there but have been there before!

  • you say your a vegetarian why aren't you vegan. We actually care more for animals. Anyways....that was good

  • @11vegan17 hopefully someday -it's really hard for me -mainly cheese.

  • @mydancetv :O i would think a dancer needs meat :O

  • @laurenboren94 no meat is not a requirement - actually vegetarian diet can be very good for ballet dancers. But people should eat what makes them feel healthy not everyone's body can do the same type of plan ya know.

  • I just realize you go to my studio!

  • @TheIzzy0319 really? are you in my class ;) also this video is at cal bal but I'm not there anymore.

  • How long did it to get your split" Any tips? :(

  • @TheGracefulBallerina Well I got it when I was about 7 and i did it all for a banana split coupon from my teacher LOL just be patient and stretch every other day not every day. Don't bounce and when you go down hold then push down further and hold keep going also google resistance stretching ;)

  • OMGG!!

    Soo super good

    i like spitzen!!

  • OMGG!!

    Soo super goodd

  • Comment removed

  • WOW! your AMAZING! and i LOVE the music oh and if i can almost stand on my toes do you think i could maybe go on pointe next year or after i know its up to the teacher but i just want to know.

  • @catholicballerina it depends on many things - even core strength ;) pulling up, straight knees and all that good stuff. I actually went off for a few months after this video then back on again after improving some of those things .

  • I thought your muscles and bones weren't properly formed in your feet enough to be en pointe until you were 12. Never the less, she seemed quite ready.

    Well done x.

  • I think you aren't ready to wear pointes untill your 12th birthday..

  • At my dance studio you have to be at least 12 to start pointe

  • why is a girl named 'Robbie'?

  • I had to start with little kids and i got moved up three clases and i am going to be on pointe soon

  • @thecoolest813 that's great! hope ya stick with it! =)

  • She needs some serious work on her arms and spotting but her feet look orrery good when not in pointe!! But it is her first time on pointe so I gotta give her some slack!!!

  • she's never good but she's on pointe abit early don't you think? i broke my leg on pointe when i was 13 and i couldnt start back or a year and a half, but she is amazing

  • why are u playing a song about animal abuse in this video???

  • @xRainbowPrincessGalx is that what it is about? Good to know. I actually founded a non-profit for animal rescue and worked on prop 2 for HSUS (farm animal protection) and robbie is starting a campaign against the circus. I think this is our very first video ever and that was the only song on the lap top =) Have been meaning to audio swap it on youtube but have been too busy. Also we are vegetarians - are you too?

  • @mydancetv no lol i was just wondering cuz i remembered this song--this girls a very good dancer tho:)

  • I started pointe when I was 8. My feet were well enough developed. It depends on the person (so many aspects...), not on age alone.

  • @mydancetv Im sure I will;D We do exams but you need to be doing ballet for more that 2 years to get moved up xD Then Ill be with kids the same age as me ;D But its

  • Im starting ballet in September! ;D Im with little kids because Im that crap xD (Little kids=5-6 years old) but Ill put some videos up, yeah?

  • @ShadyRawr13 stick with it you will prob get moved quickly if you pay attention and are older than them =)

  • i do agree that Robbie should have started Pointe work at an older age, because her feet are still growing,it may be hard for her dance in future, when i first got my pair of pointe shoes, i was 10 yrs old, now i have damage in my left knee, never go back again but so far Robbie is doing well!!!! How old is she now??? xxxooo

  • @valentine556 age does matter. If your feet aren't properly developed then you'll have some issues. Around age 12 the feet are fully ready for the extreme impact. Some before some after it depends on the person! :)

  • She isn't actually en pointe in this video!!! Plus her legs look kinda stiff

  • @elimag99 pointe is at the end of the lesson/video ;)

  • @elimag99 obviously you didnt watch until the end...

  • @elimag99 Dude, the second half of it she is, watch the whole thing next time sweetie.

  • I'm not entirely sure that age has much to do with whether or not a dancer's feet will end up having issues from dancing en pointe. Years ago when I was 12, I got my first pair of pointe shoes - I took at least 6 hours worth of ballet classes a week before auditioning for OCHSA (back when it was still in Los Alamitos) and was accepted. Now that I'm 30ish my feet have poor circulation and other issues, but oddly enough it's easier to spend 8+ hours a day in heels nowadays. :P

  • WOW i just watched a new video and she improved with her arms SO MUCH:) Now they are soooo lovely ;) Great work Robbie

  • @MissShaylouful thank you!! :) xoxo

  • xMusicEqualsDancex I absolutely agree!!!

Ages 11 and down who start pointe will mess up the tendons in there feet. They might be ready for pointe but if their teacher cares about them and wants to make them a better dancer, their teacher would know to NOT do that!!!

  • cool

  • @thebobbyobeat actually, if your instructor cares about you and your body, she won't start you until 12 or so. Yes, at an earlier age a person may be strong enough for pointe but they will more than likely have feet issues later in life

  • I know she's 10 and all, but fix her arms!! That bugged me the entire video.

  • @smartballerina arms are still not her best attribute but she is working on them ;)

  • @horseandballet

It doesn't matter what age you start Pointe. You are ready to start Pointe when your dance instructor believes your feet have met the requirements for Pointe.

  • she is good, but she should not have so sharp arms, they shold be round, and make sure she strechtes her feet well.

btw, if she started en pointe when she was ten, her bones in the toes are on good way to be totally broken. U shouldent start en point before u are 12.

  • @horseandballet when she started she barely had 20 minutes of pointe per week and that went on for a very long time. she is 12 1/2 now and so far so good with her toes and feet. She prob gets over 6 hours a week now on pointe. ;)

  • Not to be negative. But maybe to get better she can work on her fingers and pointing her feet harder! She also needs to rember to try to make her arms long and not super bent. She has a great spot but needs to keep her shoulders down also to make it even better(: Suck in your tummy and high releves! Straighten those knees also! Also while trying those pirouettes, get your knee back and get your foot all the way to your knee thatll help you get aroung better!(:

  • @HaileyDancesForMCB this video is old now but still great tips even for today! thanks!

  • you are not a pointe yet you go on pointe when your in grade 5 ballet

  • she's very good!! My feet are so messed up from starting pointe early though :/ hope that doesn't happen to her.

  • oh i remember when i first started pointe

  • what pointe shoes is that i need that pointe shoes! cause im going now on pointe but i can't think what pointe shoes is it e_e

  • @imah12345 these were grishko elite - low vamp wide platform good for stating out I think now she wears russian pointe luminas

  • beautiful dancing

  • Im just about to start pointe .

  • @GirlswhoDreamify Oooh , good luck ! It's so much fun !

  • You dance very well, how many hours you dance per day?and how many days in the week?

  • @94sealover about 2 hrs a day and 5 days a week now- summer intensives will be 6 hrs a day for 5 weeks and maybe another 5 hrs /dy for 2 wks-- can't believe this video was 2 yrs ago already!

  • Robbie your amazing at ballet!!! i hop eyou stick with it for a long time!!!!(:

    love always,

Natalie(: Best friends since we were babies(:

  • its wrong to dance on pointe when younare on pointe i am 19 and i didnt start pointe till i was 14

  • On pointe at 10? Too early. Most dance teachers will not start students on pointe before 11 or 12, and it's usually more like 12. Many adjudicators frown on dancers who do pointe at 11, some don't even like them competing on pointe at 12. Pushing a child onto pointe too early doesn't make them a better dancer.

  • 1 fix the arms

    2 stop bending your knnees

  • Thumbs up if you 11 under and your gonna dance with Pointe Shoes :D

  • How old is Robbie now? 12? When's your birthday? If I have missed it, happy B-day! Wow, is it REALLY your first time en pointe? She's good! Nice splits, Robbie! I'm a big fan of your videos, i watch them all the time! Well done!

  • @pointegal13 bday is dec 2! I'm 12. This was my actual first time ever en pointe-- thank you!! ;)

  • I have a tip for her!Straighten you legs kid.I have just the same problem she does with staighting my legs.BUT it helps ALOT!

  • She's not ready she can bearly do a turn on Demi

  • I really think she needs to wait on the pointe thing! I'm 13 and I've been taking pointe for two years. I think that 10 year old needs to practice ballet more before she starts!

  • Please could you tell me the measurements of the heights of the bars of his studio? Thank you.

  • shes a great dancer but the school should wait to put her on pointe shes only 10

  • i got poingtes when i was 11. (:

  • she's going to mess up her growth plates so badly.. (unless she is already pretty much full grown)

  • she is not hitting fifth position

  • She's really skinny and flexable.. I'm 11 and my dance instructor said I'm going on pointe in August. A month before my birthday. So, I guess it's like an early birthday present, lol. C: I'm really looking forward to it. I've already tried on pointe shoes and broke them in, but my teacher said I still need to learn some stuff... :/

  • well she has to keep her arm still while umping, turn out her feet and foot just bellow the knee when turning!! she had it on her ankle!!! otherwise good job! she has real potentioal!!

  • wow she is good 4 age 10! Well done!

  • I feel like shes not ready. Also, shes looking down at her feet which breaks off her good posture.

  • she is really good but i think she need to relax a bit more. in the beginning she has hunched shoulders and is leaning slightly forward and sticking her bum out. other than that she is great!!

  • @mliaab yes- still with the shoulders sometimes :) but working on it ;)

  • @mydancetv how long has she been doing ballet? i'm 16 and i started 5 months ago, and i'm hoping in a few years time with enough training i can try on my first pair of pointe shoes!

  • name of the song please... I love it!!! kirsty x

  • i really wanna go en pointe :( im 12 and have been dancin since i was 3 but i think that at my dance school we go en pointe after wev finished all the grades :(

  • @1jadeamber i went on pointe 3 or 4 grades before the last grade. i do IDTA and went on pointe when i was in grade 6 but only did pointe in syllabus in Intermediate so it may just be because you aren't in the grade which has pointe as part of the syllabus so dont worry, your dance teacher knows best, just keep on working hard on you relieves and demi-pointe and the strength of your ankles :)

  • Me personally didn't think she was ready but that's just me I've been in pointe for almost 4 years and I really wasn't ready bit anyways that was excellent for her first time

  • Good job, but work on pointing the foot in pirouette, figuring out where to place your foot for a proper pirouette, and your arms!

You'll be great if you just keep practicing!

  • I LOVE The Name Robbie For A Girl Soooo Cute :)

  • What pointe shoes has she got

  • @Balletfreak1000 these are grishko elite

  • That little girl is so lucky shes amazing

  • @mydancetv thats awesome you guys are veg! me too! :D I also adore ballet ^^ I think people can be quick to judge about girls being naturally skinny, I'm very slim too, naturally.

  • my first time on pointe was when i was 10 to!!!!!!!!!!! now im 11

  • keep working and good job

  • Could you plz check out my ballet channel I have one dance performance up and a few dance class vids thx luv UR channel!!!! MYDANCETV rocks!!!!

  • she is so skinny, make sure she still eats dont want any anorexic kids

  • @mrsturkeyboobs oh she eats, just not a lot of junk, soda, fast food etc LOL she is just small by nature and we are vegetarians so that helps. ;) but I understand it is a concern for many kids. Ballet is very demanding - if you don't eat right you can't perform or get the muscle strength you need.

  • @mydancetv I find that she is so thin that! she is not anorexic because I've already seen a real anorexic and not like her so do not worry! :)

  • you need to get your arms sorted out !!

  • je trouve tres sincerment que tu ne monte pas tres bien sur pointes....

Appart ça tu es super souple bravo

  • she needs to lift her leg higher in her passe during her pirouettes

  • @deja292 yah that is how they taught them there starting out - like coupe

  • WOW!! she is AMAZING!! and for the age of 10, thats very young to be going on to pointe.. i am 12 and am only just getting my pointe shoes..

  • very nice

  • que legalllll

  • she has nice long legs!!

  • My ballet studio allows girls and boys to get pointe shoes at age 10 and up

  • @iMusely

omg that is so cool .but wait how can boys go on pointe?

  • @pointeshoescool789 Well, men started pointe in the first place. Women weren't generally taught pointe cos men didn't think women were strong enough to hold their own on their toes.

That's how men can go en pointe.

  • @iMusely

wow ur studio lets boys go on pointe.

  • Le pirouettes in passé, non in cou de pied .-.

  • @Giuggi95TheBest That is how they taught them there, it is different at her studio now. But this is over 1 year ago now ;)

  • She's doing great, but pointe is hard on the bones in your feet and most girls should not start pointe until the age of 12. It may permanently damage the bones in her feet, making it harder for her to dance in the future

  • @forgottengoose thanks and robbie really did not go heavy into point. She switched studios short after this and was only getting about 20 minutes a week then it was about to about an hour so luckily for her it wasn't full blown serious point training. She is 12 now and will probably start getting much more. ;)

  • @forgottengoose its not about the age its about the exelence and strong bones

then why im just 11 im going to wear pointe shoes also my classmate and she's only 9 years old :P

  • @forgottengoose its not about the age its about the exelence and strong bones

then why im just 11 im going to wear pointe shoes also my classmate and she's only 9 years old

  • @forgottengoose then why im going to wear pointe shoes on 11 years old :P

and my ballet classmate is only 9 she's gonna wear one also

  • @forgottengoose well i started point at age 9 cuse i was redy and my ballet teacher gave them to me as a gift

  • personally, I think her general technique is good, but maybe a bit more grace?

  • You're going to be an incredible dancer when you're older!

  • I love how dedicated she is and well she's doing for her first time on pointe =)

it makes me happy to know how much you can she loves it

    great job robbie xoxox
