As for Niezche, he was just one atheist thinker out of many. You wrote as we move away from God, we devalue ourselves...but it seems to me that the most religious part of the world is the Muslim world and that is where life is valued the least. The more secular a society becomes, the more that culture seems to value life (meaning all life, not just embryos.)

It is not because of atheist. It is because of a very different catalyst. But I do agree that the 20th century was one of if not the bloodiest. Oddly, none of it was from a non-belief in god. All atheist, actually most atheist do not believe that peace will come from atheist, it does mean that we can no longer have a religion as a reason for the bloodshed.
