So is he using the bass amp in addition to the guitar amp just to add some depth to the sound since he has no bass player? I saw them open for The Raconteurs and he had the same general setup there, and it sounded like there was a bass up there with them. It was super heavy.

His strings also appear to be a thicker gauge than usual. (Probably like 11s or 12s) To add more depth.

Its a pretty smart way to make up for the lack of a bass.
