well their title of 'bravery' didnt just pop out of nowhere. Furthermore the gurkhas have been fighting wars for centuries and gaining immense reputation. They've most certainly seen intense combat, perhaps some of the worst jungle warfare during WW2.
Of course 'russian' and 'israeli' troops is too vague as both are armies and gurkhas is a batallions but they certinately have earned the right to be called 'bravest of the brave', it hasnt just materalised out of nowhere.

In ancient times, Gurkhas were called Kiratas.
Kiratas is referenced in veda, purano and epics of ancient texts.
type "Sakela~The Greatest Festival of Kirat People" and you find more about these people history, religion and their culture who are believed to have started the religion of worshiping phallus stones.
also type "Kirat Temple"
This video you will see three phallus stones which is the main deities of the Kirat. But you won't see any image of Shiva like other Hindu Shiva temple.

The Gurkhas are formed by Mongoloid people,
namely Magar, Gurung, Rai and Limbu or MaGuRaLi.
After the founding of modern Nepal by P.N Shah, MaGuRaLi communities were never given equal opportunities in Nepal by bahun-chettri or Tajgadhari (thread-wearing) government.
Since the Tajgadhari group could not enslave MaGuRaLi communities, they send men from MaGuRaLi to join British Army as Gurkhas.
In return the British government paid the Nepal government for every Gurkha enlisted.

Especially,Gurkhas are from GURUNG ethnic group of Nepal including other ethinic groups like Tamang,Rai,MAgar and all.They are more descent,straightforward and brave beside millitary service as well.

GUrkhas are not easpecially from GURUNG ethnic ONLY. You need to learn bit more. Gurkhas are from the ethinic groups Rai and Limbu from the east and Gurung and Magar from the west but Tamang ,sherpa, and others mix from all the part of NEPAL. what ever the ethnic group Gurkhas are GURKHAS.

The four group Magar, Gurung, Rai and Limbu were classified under Namasine(Unslavable) matawalis (liquor drinkers) in Muluki Ain (National Code of Nepal) of 1854 as qouted by J.B Rana "yo char matwali jaat sanga kharab na gara"!

I think they're slightly overrated. Since when is being fierce against the British the benchmark? Even the pathans gave the british a roasting back in those days. If you gave the pathans the same training and equipment these Gurkhas have, they would be just as fierce. Though admittedly pathans would be almost impossible to control and discipline, which is what the Gurkhas have over them. Standing up to super powers requires some serious balls imo.
As for Russians, they seem like cowards.

But the fine distinction between Gurkhas and the Pathans is the very fact that u haf stated; the Gurkhas haf discipline and control which makes them civilised while the Pathans do not which make their case more of barbarism and hence it's prolly easier for themto haf "some serious balls" to stand up to super powers imo.
