  • I saw the Mandala at the old Hullabaloo Club on Sunset Blvd in the 60s..and played this single until it wore out...great to be able to hear it again...also saw The Seeds the same night...and met the Allman Brothers as they pulled their white van into the driveway..what a night...

  • My comments never get recorded , why is that you-tube?

  • They should have been around for alot longer than they were.....well at least Dominic T played with the Guess Who later on.....

  • Whoo-new discoveries again for me! I'm on a roll!!

  • Great Canadian band!

  • Thanks Terry.. I lived in East York in those years and knew Don Tri..saw them lots and Dave B from the Ugly Ducklings but heres a good one for you....could you find the cut"From Toronto 67"

an instrumental song the Mandala did... I had the 45 but it's gonzo some where...Thx again to George..and Roy...and Luke and the Apostles for all those great nights of music

  • Go to George Olliver's site a CD is available with all of the songs that Mandala recorded including "From Toronto 67" Great song. It takes you back to the "Soul Crusade" days.

  • They played at our High School auditorium in Chateauguay, Quebec (Billings) around 1968-69 and I still remember the concert like it was yesterday. Great show, full of energy and this band was so under rated! brownie

  • This Canadian band was fantastic. I have their album, but this song isn't on it.

  • So great thanks for posting, for a great read on Mandala and other great talent ,"Before the goldrush", by nick jennings this is not a paid political anounce ment!!!!

  • One of the best songs ever. Recorded at the legendary Chess Records in Chicago with the Dells doing background vocals.

George still does club gigs in the Toronto area and belongs to a Baptist church in Ajax where he performs with the choir. He's released a couple of gospel cds in the last few years.

  • I'm sorry to here about Domenic passing away. I've been posted to the "boonies" for a while so, I didn't know. Mandela's shows were bigger than life back in the day. Thank you for posting this. Greg

  • soooooo fine!

the best soul review band there was

stole that album and wore it out by 1970

CAM ANYONE POST "Faith" which I think was the last track on the first side?

a million thanks for posting this!

  • Dom's birthday is today 1-17-09 - He'd be 63 if he hadn't died 5-25-05 of prostate cancer. Get the 2 James Gang Lp's he and Roy Kenner played on - on one CD! Great stuff!

  • Great Audio Terry! Wow, brings back so many memories. We did a half a dozen gigs with them around southern Ontario, and I used to stand in awe of George. Talk about chops!

    Dave Bingham

    "The UGLY DUCKLINGS".

  • They say there is a time for everything. For the Mandala this was their time. And now we can enjoy this great gem whenever we want (which for me is quite often)

  • these guys at high school dances, roller skating rinks or intimate clubs stood the hair on my nape.. i say no better toronto band..

  • George Olliver..

    What a voice..

I think he's still doin' it!!

  • George is still playing and singing, he does a solo act playing the keys, he has a band called Gangbuster in two versions4 piece and 8 piece with a horn section. He also sings with a gospel band "Caught Away". He is still a great performer and believe it or not still dances and does the splits!

  • OMG!! I used to drool at the professionalism of these guys. Miss the late nite/early morning lunches at Webster's and the Colonade after gigs with some of the gang. RIP Dom...missed

    Mac Berry

  • My mom went to one of their shows here in L.A. and actually caught the lead singer's skinny white tie when he threw it in the crowd. I still have both of their KR singles and two original "Member Of The Soul Crusade" buttons that my mom got from the show (pictured at 2:00). These guys were incredible...that guitar solo...SHEESH!

  • Excellent. this is the greatest I have the vinyl sitting at my hands. Excellent record.

  • YEAH!!!!! Very nice to see this great Northern Soul classic on YT! Thanks!

  • I had the good fortune to see Dom and Mandala play live in my hometown. They were truly an awsome band. RIP Dom...

  • Great job - thanks for posting. We all miss you, Dom.......
