I'm voting Kucinich in 2008! And I REFUSE to vote for anyone else... (I now have convinced 13 other people I know to vote for him too, just by telling them to research his voting record and his campaign plan)!
The only man fit to be the leader of the greatest nation on earth, he actual believes in peace , and thats why my friends he shall never be the leader of a nation with the greatest armed forces in the world
It's hard to believe how some people get bullied in to not voting for their first choice. Don't be afraid! Vote for the one who you believe in. If everyone voted for the one they really wanted this country would be a lot better place. Give your support to the person who best represents you.
For me that's Dennis Kucinich. Hes got my vote. I'm not afraid!
Nuclear weapons decimate everything within a 20mile radius, WHAT FUCKTARD THINKS WE NEED NUKES TO TAKE OUT TERRORISTS/TARGETS?
You have to be fucking retarded to think nuclear weapons play any role at all! Aside from being a deterrent of nuclear attacks on us, they have no purpose!
Don't give up. Most people know nothing about Kucinich. He is the populist candidate that could catch on like wildfire. I loved that line about a Workers White House. Tell people about this site it is awesome!
Stephanopoulos asks: "By running for President, aren't you neglecting Cleveland?" As great as Dennis is as a Congressman, there are some things he CAN'T DO in that role - like pulling out of Nafta, like Universal Health Care (which, if passed now, would only be vetoed.) Dennis serves Cleveland BEST by becoming President!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
If Dennis Kucinich is elected president, his wife would be the first first lady with a pierced tongue. And he would be the first president to ever sit in the Oval Office on a booster seat.
Ron Paul? No thanks. Why would someone vote for Paul when Kucinich will already do ALL those good things, except eliminate the IRS, which makes no sense after the $9 trillion war you Republicans got us into (Republicans, can you do math?). Kucinich will do more by getting Universal Healthcare and sensible and necessary social programs, which is what taxes are really for. Plus, Paul is just a b*tch for corporate interests and privatizers. I don't want someone like that.
what's sad is that Dennis actually cares about our country... and our people have been brainwarped and sabatouged enough to let the fucking media determine who should run the show....
yep he's my man, what in the world, other than the corporate interests would stop you from voting for this guy, he talks common sense, the middle class has been fucked from here to sunday, i wish we'd wake up
He is the most intelligent candidate. Not to mention the most ethical, and most dedicated to restoring the Constitution. Down with NAFTA and the WTO, and up with workers rights. Vote Dennis. Hold a yardsale for Dennis Oct 13 and 14. Pledge the proceeds. To pledge go to the link listed on my profile.
It's hilarious how all want change but here's a shorty w a campaign video of his daughter foxy-smiling n looking over his shoulders while he sweet-talks you. Yes! That's the spirit! Go for the words; but please DON'T THINK. Think u can manage that.
That's not his daughter, she's his wife. You're the one not thinking, considering you only attack his stature and his wife's looks instead of actually considering the issues.
Mr.Kucinich is talking reality wake up my American friends,we love you do not show us bombs power show us IQ.power i have a lot American friends, and they are as normal as i am,but they administration i mean politicians except this one Dennis, are just all the same war mongrows,i am sorry to my American brothers and sisters but this is to days reality.USA i love you please leed the world to one world for all all races together love Maedonija.
Shame on you George and ABC. Dennis is the only candidate speaking plain commonsense. Of course to talk of using nuclear weapons is crazy, beyond crazy, it is totally reprehensible. No one wins any kind of nuclear exchange. Come on America be courageous, stand up for sense, stand up for truth.
Stephanopolis is a tool. The guy is brilliant enough to be a Rhodes scholar yet he uses all these tools of a pundit propagandist. My guess is he has a vested interest in preservation of the establishment. Paul and Kucinich should be the front runners, and I hope the American people figure it out soon.
We the people is not communist. Communists put power in the hands of leaders while the founders who coined that phrase wanted power retained by the people or the states.
Is your perception of what is happening in the world so limited that you are not aware of a class struggle between the rich and the poor! ..You have to be unconscious of history and current events!...You must be a REPUBLICAN!
You know, you guys are idiots. I made a comment. I'm not DEBATING anything. I said Kucinich is a communist cos the world isn't black and white. You can't solve problems by simply attending to the poor, you have to look at the businesses too. Kucinich is very ONE_SIDED in his views. Removing the US from the WTO and NAFTA? Should it be a removal or tweaking that is needed? I don't think he understands the implications of some of his stands.
And don't call me a republican. The world has been down the road of communism. It didn't work partly cos people do want to break free from poverty and it isn't a system that reward your efforts. So in fact, we are ALL capitalists in our heart of hearts. Let me put it this way, if a poor man was given a business to run, count on him turning to the Right. So you can waste a vote with a guy with questionable views OR you can prevent another Clinton in the WH, which is what will most likely happen.
It needs to be an outright removal from NAFTA and WTO. The poor definately need some tending to, especially since the rich have plenty of attention under Bush.
You use the word "People" a lot in your argument. What do you think WTO and NAFTA does? Yes, they facilitate businesses to grow bigger and bigger, but that would involve outsourcing, taking jobs away from "people" (the ones you've so fervently talked about), undercutting small businesses that "people" work so hard to grow. You run into a roadblock when you put PEOPLE and free trade agreements as you can't satisfy both.
We have seen NAFTA not working as the US government resort to bilateral trade with both Mexican and Canada in industries such as agriculture and softwood lumber. I don't understand when you wrote that "you can't solve problems by simply attending to the poor." Who do you think makes the economy grow? Consumers, people. Rich, middle-class, poor people. If you empower the poorer folks, what will you have? More money in the economy, more money to spend on goods and services.
If the next president is going to think like you, TheNumber24, China will overtake the US as the next superpower faster than you can say "Capitalism!!"
I already know n I don't disagree with what you're said about empowering the poor. All presidents shouldn't leave the poor behind. However, the MAIN point I've been trying to make is that even under such circumstances, businesses shouldn't be penalized. The next president has to make sure that both businesses and workers are fairly treated. To say stuff like withdrawing from NAFTA, shows that Kucinich has a very ONE-SIDED view. He's putting complex economics issues far too simply. But that's me.
Politically speaking Kucinich is spot on. The polls suggest that something like 60-80% of the American people want a total withdrawal from Iraq now. Yet the leading democrats like Hillary and Obama seem to want to pander to that loose minority who think that the solution to Iraq is to pussy foot around longer. Unless the democrats can offer a candidate who is willing the soldiers home now they will get grilled in '08.
Dennis handled George rather well considering that he was trying to antagonise Dennis. See what the corporate media does to a candidate who in NOT in thier pocket! They will ignore, censor, antagonise as seen here. Wake up people, the news is not the news anymore it is tainted with corporate bias. Go Dennis!!!!
ABC is trying to edit Kucinich out of the Presidential race. I emailed thema and left a comment. I called them at 212-456-2700. They redirected me three times to an automated system, and when I followed their directions to leave a comment, got disconnected. In a democracy, the FCC would make them adhere to rules.
Dennis will restore the bill of rights. He will withdraw from the WTO, NAFTA, etc. He supports workers rights, Health care for all, and Peace. Vote for him in the primaries.
I remember seeing Dennis Kucinich back in 1968. Talking about the Vietnam War.He was good then, and know is a great leader. He has my support & vote!!
I wish they would work together a bit- reference eachother, for instance when saying something like DK does in this video, (paraphrasing) "I am the only candidate that voted against the war from the beginning" - so did Ron Paul! Mentioning each other at such times would be good for both candidates!
And I would certainly vote for Paul/Kucinich or Kucinich/Paul as the Unity08 ticket it that takes off!
How hard is it to have a health care plan for all? The hard part is making sure it is fiscally responsible. I'm on the Paul/Kucinich bandwagon too but just having a plan is nothing.
Medicare for all is very fiscally responsible. First off, medicare, at 3% has the lowest administrative cost of any insurance plan in the US. Medicare premiums from new memebers would pay for any start-up costs, and if every American has health care, the focus could switch to preventative medicine, which would save not only on health care cost, but would also increase procutivity due to less sick days and fewer low performance days at work.
I like Congressman Kucinich. My own ideology is closer to Ron Paul's, but I would vote for Dennis Kucinich over any of the more likely republican nominees. I think there are a lot of other people that feel the same (or similarly but favoring DK).
George does not seem to notice what I have seen which is KUCINICH 2008 bumper stickers on cars in at least 2 states so far about 6. I have seen none for any other candidate for any party. One yard sign for Ron Paul.
Stephanopoulos makes me gag. He is responsible for pushing the right winged agenda. ABC is the White House propaganda machine. What a phoney. He used to be a Democrat....now he is just another right wing opportunist. Dennis is too good to be on this program.
His competition in the Democratic party is a shame, the rest of them might as well be running as republicans. He's the only democrat candidate in the race, who has not backed the neocon right. Hilary and Barac, have been supporting the fascist Busch the whole time they've been in Washington. It might sound crazy but if Dennis Kucinich doesn't win the democratic ticket, we might as well vote for the republican Ron Paul.
Ron Paul voted down Clinton's war mongering and Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. he is more consistent at restricting through policy and voting record big government and thusly big corporationists -- vote Ron Paul.
Ron Paul has the only consisten voting record and is 100% for liberty, not democracy. Kuccinich is pro-democracy pro-government pro-corporationist and the proof is in his voting record. He voted to increase the military complex under clinton - to fuel clintons world-police actions and nation building (which is constitutionally illegal). I like Kuccinich over all other Dems as far as his idealism goes - though Gravel has a better voting record.
Amazing! How can this man not be elected President? Because he speaks the truth so eloquently and he's the sanest and most compassionate candidate of the bunch. How I wish more American voters would open their minds and give people like Kucinich a chance. He's so much the type of leader the United States needs at this crucial time in the world's history.
I hope when Ron Paul wins the presidency he will make Dennis Kucinich the Secretary of State. We need to stop fighting unconstitutional wars and wasting lives now!
You speak clearly, intelligently, with the force of good will and common sense. You deserve to be president! We would become such a strong nation under your leadership!
Empathy, the ability to see beyond your self and yes put your self in another's shoes. Understand will be the saving grace of humanity or the lack of it doom us.
"Why should I feel remorse for Terrorists?!" You did not just ask that! I pity them the most, many of the Taliban are brain washed from birth to believe that every one is evil, but people of there own faith and that they will be rewarded after death for killing. There programmed to be Terrorists, they have almost no chance of ever seeing a world out side of hate and violence.
Goddamn, just put Dennis Kucinich in the White House leading this country where he belongs. Ladies and gentlemen, only once in a lifetime will we ever have someone to truly represent and address the concerns of the common American people like this amazing man. Us poor people may not have the money, but oh boy we've got the numbers! Spread the word! Turn up in 2008 to VOTE FOR DENNIS KUCINICH. To not do so is like, pure stupidity. Like Spitting on the Democratic gift that's our birthright.
People don't make the mistake of assuming that a right wing troll like Bellita1 cares about the truth. If she had any respect for the truth she would have already figured out (and researched) what you're saying to her. When you treat her seriously, you presume that she cares about the truth. You must deal w/ the wingnuts w/ irony, w/ satire.
Critical Hit! Dude that last sentence totally killed all of my arguments. I just didn't realize soon enough that I wasn't smart enough to continue arguing with his holiness. I guess if I really want to become smart I should just stop this criticism of our pristine government and buy myself an F-250!
You tell 'em Dennis! All those pink Dems supporting the assault on Freedom & the Constitution! Betraying the American People who voted for change! KUCINICH LOVES AMERICA! KUCINICH LOVES AMERICANS! VOTE FOR KUCINICH IN 2008!
You tell 'em Dennis! All those pink Dems supporting the assault on Freedom & the Constitution! KUCINICH LOVES AMERICA! KUCINICH LOVES AMERICANS! VOTE FOR KUCINICH IN 2008!
WOW Dennis Kucinich you are the leader we need. You have my vote! You are talking exactly the issues and the solutions that everyone I know is concerned with and wanting what you offer. George Stephanopoulos get a life - you are an angry little man who sounds so stupid.
George is very adversarial (and dumb) in this interview. He has to be, though; Kucinich talks about things that the corporate media has been ignoring so his ideas don't fit w/in George's framework for the war (ex: how can the US be making the situation worse if we're liberating Iraq?). The media thus has to either admit that it's mis-covered this war (and most other wars) or find a way to dismiss Dennis as a screwball. This is Kucinich's major problem.
Kucinich ideas are the closest ones to those leaders who we all admire the most such as Martin Luther King Jr, Gandhi, Mandela. They would all support abolishing nuclear weapons and creating a Department of Peace. Kucinich is the only candidate that I have heard that has such visionary ideas and the courage to implement them. I bet Jesus, Budha or any other spiritual master would champion similar policies if there would be placed in the position of being the president of The US.
I want Kucinich as president so badly. What we need to do is import Europeans, make them citizens immediately, and they will vote for Kucinich to help him get elected in 2008! Gosh, I wish American would just get some common sense and vote for this guy.
To have Kucinich's honesty and character leading our country would be the best thing that has happened to this country since our Independence! We need to start over and regain our ideals, hopes and dreams for the best that we can be. Kucinich is a leader for the best in all of the people. Voting for Kucinich is voting for COURAGE to stand up to the greed that has overtaken this country. Vote for Kucinich and give goodness, high ideals and honesty a chance to change the world for the better.
Kucinich is correct: He is at the CENTER. Politics has shifted to the right with the influence of the privileged and corporations. He's the only one who is making any sense for an average American.
The point that the media people like George S fail to understand is the point that strength through peace means treating criminals like criminals, not glorifying them as terrorists. Kucinich is the only one who is clear that the creation of nuclear weapons is just insanity.
The Creation of Nuclear Weapons is insanity. But they already exist and other countries that aren't friendly to the USA have them. Terrorists would use them in a second. Not all countries want deplomacy. Kucinich acts like we can talk to terrorists. Fact is you can. You have to kill them like the cock roaches they are.
Bellita1, nu-uh. Terrorists aren't "roaches." Roaches do things for reasons, like they want to eat. But terrorists, they're just CrAzY!. They act for no reason. And Dennis would try to reason w/ the lunatics, huh? Very frightening. But wait, I thought, the lunatics wanted to invade the US and make it an islamofacist empire? Why would they nuke it? Then they couldn't invade it. Or did you mean they're like roaches in that they can resist the radiation?
Here are some facts about your munchkin Hero: In 1977, Kucinich was elected Mayor of Cleveland and served in that position until 1979. Kucinich's tenure as mayor is often regarded as one of the most tumultuous in Cleveland's history. Kucinich is the only former Mayor of Cleveland without a portrait hanging in Cleveland's City Hall.
Melvin G. Holli, in consultation with a panel of experts, placed Kucinich among the ten worst big-city mayors.
Bellita1, Oh my god you really do have evidence for everything you're saying. Wow! I thought I heard most of that in an interview w/ Tom Snyder that Kucinich himself has posted on this site, but no, no this really looks brand new! Bellita1 w/ your advanced research skills I bet you could never get a job at the liberal-corporate-commie media. Hats off to you for being a real citizen journalist!
I am glad I could clear it up for you. Now I will tell you that you should support Guiliani for President. He will kick ass and take names. Unlike Kookinich who will lick ass. Oh you probably do that also. Didn't mean to offend your homosexual lifestyle.
But Bellita1, you said that the terrorists were roaches! Do roaches have asses for Guiliani to kick? Do roaches have names for Guiliani to take? How will Guiliani find them? Please details. Will he have to spray bug spray all over the middle east? Like we did in Vietnam, you know w/ Agent Orange and maybe napalm, too? If so, who will be left to live in the Iraqi democracy after Guiliani has sprayed everyone w/ napalm?
Doesn't really matter. As long as I have cheap gas to put in my F250 pick-up I don't give a shit who lives in the middle east. What would Kookinch do if the US is attacked again? Would he burn some incense and meditate?
Bellita1, I bet you're right; he'd probably just sit around and get stoned and nail his teenage wife. He definitely wouldn't find out who did it and how they did it and take steps to make sure they couldn't do it again. Nope. He certainly wouldn't have fancy diplomatic skills he could use to persuade states in the region to help him arrest those roaches before they attacked you or to cut down on the growing roach population, either, nope.
Yeah and I get so excited, too, when I think about all the people Guiliani would bomb. All those hot missles. All those explosions. (Anderson Cooper would cream his pants.) It'd be even better television than 24! Do you think if we asked him nicely, Guiliani would torture someone on tv for us? Maybe he'd even dress up in drag while he did it, and we could get W. to put on a flight suit and help him. Best tv EVER!
You are so right. That torture was just awful. I can't imagine the pain they felt when they stood there with underwear on their head. The humiliation of wearing a dog collar and worst of all, building a nude pyramid. No wonder they want to kill us. Who could endure such torture? I'am sure Kookinch will appoint someone to go suck off all those guys. Hey, maybe you could apply for that position in his cabinet.
Bellita1, no you see, the best torture were the secret renditions. What we really need is for Guiliani to put them on tv. The stuff where the CIA supervises while another country's police electrocutes people; that's the hot stuff. We could get Guiliani to wear a dress and give orders. Maybe the Mittster could stand guard and do that Gipper "father knows best" schtick. Aren't authority figures so sexy? Just think: Daddy w/ a cattle prod and the Uzbek secret police on primetime tv! Wow.
And when enough of you psychopaths could "care less" what happens to "them," you shouldn't wonder why there are terrorists is this world. You're made of the same cloth.
First of all: Don't flip out just because you hear the word marijuana: If used for medical purposes, it would be much SAFER than many drugs that ARE legal now. Secondly, the choices we have in international affairs are not either bomb the "roaches" (nice use of dehumanization there) or do nothing: Diplomacy would actually stop the spread of terrorism.
If the US didn't go around bombing the middle east, then terrorist organizations would have a lot harder of a time recruiting people: It would be hard to portray the US as evil. Sorry, but war is NEVER EVER going to solve our problems.
Firstly, no I do not think 911 was an inside job. Secondly, I said that US offensives in the middle east help spread terrorism, not create it. What I am saying is that we will never solve anything by declaring war against another country, and we can never hope to "win" against terrorism this way.
printmusic, I was being satirical; Bellita1 was being sub-human. Satire is the Left's secret weapon b/c satire depends upon irony and irony (appearance vs. reality) involves seeing the world from multiple perspectives. The Right is completely incapable of irony. Note that Bellita1 stopped posting as soon as I out crazied her?
Terrorism: "use of terror, especially the systematic use of terror by the government or other authority against particular persons or groups; a method of opposing a government internally or externally through the use of terror." Gee this sounds a lot like war, doesn't it? Are you saying that our troops are "inhuman terrorists?"
So if a bomb fell on your house or your prized F-250 would you not be terrorized? Also: I don't think our troops are terrorists, but our president is.
You aren't especially religious or spiritual, are you, Bellita1? You sound more like Linda Blair's character in THE EXORCIST. Justice would be that in your next life, you are reborn in another country... preferably Afghanistan or the Middle East, so you can gain a more just and realistic experience as the recipient of your own hateful thinking.
And to further the analogy with the hope of stirring in you some small ability to empathize with others, I will at least hope that you are born to a couple who loves you and will mourn when you - their beloved child - is killed or maimed by a cluster bomb from the United States while someone named "Bellita1" feels no remorse.
No I didn't. You're wrong to assume that because I am against illegal wars and tens of thousands of innocent victims (not terrorists) of our (OUR) bombs, that I am in favor of terrorism. Quite the opposite. But you can't have it both ways Bellita1. You act as though you care about the victims of 9/11, but it seems by your diatribe that the event just gives you an opening to spew hatred. Very unfortunate, but you are in the minority, thank goodness.
Yep. And the authorization, based on lies of imminent threat to the United States by Iraq, was illegal. It was a preemptive, unprovoked war that the rest of the world warned would be devastating to Iraq and cause pain and sorrow, not to mention stealing our tax dollars to set up companies like Halliburton, who frothed at the mouth for Iraq's oil. It's not only an illegal war, it's treasonous to the American people.
Sorry you are WRONG AGAIN. It wasn't based on lies it was based on faulty intelligence and not to benefit Hallilburton. Halliburton was only a benefactor of rebuilding Iraq. It was either Halliburton or some French company. Who would you choose? So it also wasn't treasonous act.
You are right I shouldn't use the word "French". They are a bunch of socialist pussy's who hate the USA just like you. Hey why don't you move to France?
You know, if America really was built up with people like you, it would be very tempting. As it is however, I think more rational minded people are in the majority, so I don't have to worry about that. (By the way- France is a democracy)
Oh ok, then they're now capitalist (Not that it really matters). You could say that the US elected a democratic majority last November to fix the blunders of the GOP! France isn't the only country with problems.
Umm... nowhere did I say that... I'm lost as to how you jump to these conclusions so fast. So what blunders have the GOP made? Lets see: running our country into trillions of dollars of debt, starting the Iraq war, passing hundreds of pro-corporation bills which enable more pollution of big businesses, and lower taxes for them,
I misstated earlier: It's not so much what bush has passed, its what he has refused to allow, and what he has pushed. Ex: He will not sign on to the kyoto protocol, and he has pushed the "clear skies initiative," which would allow more pollution. Also: What one good thing has bush done to ensure a healthy environment for the next 80 yrs.?
On global warming: Why should we? Because we still barely have influence over these countries, (I doubt it will last much longer), and we have the power to encourage them to help solve the problem. Also: If we are such a great country as we say we are, shouldn't it be our moral responsibility to do something about it whether or not other countries do as well?
throwing away our foreign relations, illegal wiretapping, ignoring many serious environmental threats, and paying the corporations to destroy it even farther!... Even Rove was scared of all the trouble the administration got into, so he jumped ship.
Wow. You mean Corporations are profitable so they can employ people? That has to stop. The wiretaps were done on foreigners so they aren't illegal. If they were Bush would have been prosecuted. The country was already in debt and will go further in debt when the Socialists create Socialized medicine. How did the Corporations destroy our country? Iraq war only killed 3,800 Americans which is terrible but for a worthy cause.
No that is not what I mean. Corporations are profitable so that their CEOs can get richer, and they can control markets and exploit the American people. "The wiretaps were done on foreigners so they aren't illegal." That sentence makes absolutely no sense. Wiretaps were supposedly done to "fight terrorism," but we have really no idea whether or not they were also used for political purposes. (maybe to spy on anti-bush activists? But wait, you'd probably condone that too.)
"We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the world-- no longer a government of free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of small groups of dominant men."
Bellita1, wow, where did you find out that he "bankrupted Clevland"? That sure is good to know. I bet you're a real investigative reporter aren't you? And, what, you mean that Kucinich would destroy the military and open the US to invasion? Amazing. And, you say everyone posting here opposes anti-imperialist struggle (even the Washington's struggle against the British colonizers?) Wow. You sure have persuaded me never to support Kucinich again.
Hey--stop the vitriol against everyone who interviews Dennis! That's not what Dennis represents. Stephanopolus is doing his job, and Dennis did his. No need to vilify the man. We are not afraid of tough questions, or attempts to belittle our candidate. Justice and Truth will prevail, and the Kucinich campaign is helping it along. There will be no failure in this campaign, even if we don't win the White House, we will have succeeded!
These are tough questions. Dennis is used to dealing with adversarial interviewers. He has done well. If only George Bush could have been put to such tests, we might have had better results in our pres elections (that is what votes were not stolen). Dennis uses common sence and the corporate managed media will not help him..just ignores or contfronts. See the spin!
You are wacked. Kucinich is so far left he is off the map. If he were President other countries would invade the USA because they know he wouldn't do anything about it.
Firstly it would be highly unlikely for america to be attacked if it itself was not continuing to be the no 1 terrorist nation in the world (thats is a fact btw - do some research) and even if it was he is not a passivist, he is just anti-pre-emptive strike and so would defend his country with a military that would still have a budget thats greater then all other countries put together. Please stop being so ignorant.
Way to Go Dennis!!!

This asshole is ready to say anything to get some applause. A worker's president? Tsk. Com'on. A poor man's president has to be a damn communist.
TheNumber24 4 years ago
The phrase "We the People" is communist, you stupid American. Stop tagging that word to every policy that helps a good majority of American people.
toxxygen 4 years ago
Number 24 has got to be a dead head!...."The poor will inherit the earth!"
I guess the bible is a communist book!
despicable81 4 years ago
We the people is not communist. Communists put power in the hands of leaders while the founders who coined that phrase wanted power retained by the people or the states.
CowWithBeef 4 years ago
Is your perception of what is happening in the world so limited that you are not aware of a class struggle between the rich and the poor! ..You have to be unconscious of history and current events!...You must be a REPUBLICAN!
despicable81 4 years ago
You know, you guys are idiots. I made a comment. I'm not DEBATING anything. I said Kucinich is a communist cos the world isn't black and white. You can't solve problems by simply attending to the poor, you have to look at the businesses too. Kucinich is very ONE_SIDED in his views. Removing the US from the WTO and NAFTA? Should it be a removal or tweaking that is needed? I don't think he understands the implications of some of his stands.
TheNumber24 4 years ago
And don't call me a republican. The world has been down the road of communism. It didn't work partly cos people do want to break free from poverty and it isn't a system that reward your efforts. So in fact, we are ALL capitalists in our heart of hearts. Let me put it this way, if a poor man was given a business to run, count on him turning to the Right. So you can waste a vote with a guy with questionable views OR you can prevent another Clinton in the WH, which is what will most likely happen.
TheNumber24 4 years ago
It needs to be an outright removal from NAFTA and WTO. The poor definately need some tending to, especially since the rich have plenty of attention under Bush.
mrsantone 4 years ago
You are too shallow.
TheNumber24 4 years ago
You use the word "People" a lot in your argument. What do you think WTO and NAFTA does? Yes, they facilitate businesses to grow bigger and bigger, but that would involve outsourcing, taking jobs away from "people" (the ones you've so fervently talked about), undercutting small businesses that "people" work so hard to grow. You run into a roadblock when you put PEOPLE and free trade agreements as you can't satisfy both.
toxxygen 4 years ago
We have seen NAFTA not working as the US government resort to bilateral trade with both Mexican and Canada in industries such as agriculture and softwood lumber. I don't understand when you wrote that "you can't solve problems by simply attending to the poor." Who do you think makes the economy grow? Consumers, people. Rich, middle-class, poor people. If you empower the poorer folks, what will you have? More money in the economy, more money to spend on goods and services.
toxxygen 4 years ago
If the next president is going to think like you, TheNumber24, China will overtake the US as the next superpower faster than you can say "Capitalism!!"
toxxygen 4 years ago
I already know n I don't disagree with what you're said about empowering the poor. All presidents shouldn't leave the poor behind. However, the MAIN point I've been trying to make is that even under such circumstances, businesses shouldn't be penalized. The next president has to make sure that both businesses and workers are fairly treated. To say stuff like withdrawing from NAFTA, shows that Kucinich has a very ONE-SIDED view. He's putting complex economics issues far too simply. But that's me.
TheNumber24 4 years ago
Politically speaking Kucinich is spot on. The polls suggest that something like 60-80% of the American people want a total withdrawal from Iraq now. Yet the leading democrats like Hillary and Obama seem to want to pander to that loose minority who think that the solution to Iraq is to pussy foot around longer. Unless the democrats can offer a candidate who is willing the soldiers home now they will get grilled in '08.

I wish they would work together a bit- reference eachother, for instance when saying something like DK does in this video, (paraphrasing) "I am the only candidate that voted against the war from the beginning" - so did Ron Paul! Mentioning each other at such times would be good for both candidates!
And I would certainly vote for Paul/Kucinich or Kucinich/Paul as the Unity08 ticket it that takes off!
momerath42 4 years ago
I agree. Kucinich/Paul 08. But not Paul/Kucinich. Paul is a very good man and is strong on civil rights, but Kucinich has a health care plan for all.
iamwhatnormalis 4 years ago
How hard is it to have a health care plan for all? The hard part is making sure it is fiscally responsible. I'm on the Paul/Kucinich bandwagon too but just having a plan is nothing.
CowWithBeef 4 years ago
Medicare for all is very fiscally responsible. First off, medicare, at 3% has the lowest administrative cost of any insurance plan in the US. Medicare premiums from new memebers would pay for any start-up costs, and if every American has health care, the focus could switch to preventative medicine, which would save not only on health care cost, but would also increase procutivity due to less sick days and fewer low performance days at work.
iamwhatnormalis 4 years ago
I like Congressman Kucinich. My own ideology is closer to Ron Paul's, but I would vote for Dennis Kucinich over any of the more likely republican nominees. I think there are a lot of other people that feel the same (or similarly but favoring DK).

OctoBox 4 years ago
Ron Paul has the only consisten voting record and is 100% for liberty, not democracy. Kuccinich is pro-democracy pro-government pro-corporationist and the proof is in his voting record. He voted to increase the military complex under clinton - to fuel clintons world-police actions and nation building (which is constitutionally illegal). I like Kuccinich over all other Dems as far as his idealism goes - though Gravel has a better voting record.

We should vote based on a candidates congressional or senatorial voting record not on his speeches - because they will always be ideal.

Is it me or does George sound adversarial throughout the entire interview. I mean quoting Harold Ford and some right wing local wrags,...come on.
PhatPhing 4 years ago
George is very adversarial (and dumb) in this interview. He has to be, though; Kucinich talks about things that the corporate media has been ignoring so his ideas don't fit w/in George's framework for the war (ex: how can the US be making the situation worse if we're liberating Iraq?). The media thus has to either admit that it's mis-covered this war (and most other wars) or find a way to dismiss Dennis as a screwball. This is Kucinich's major problem.
dharmamarx 4 years ago
dharmamarx, you are wrong again. George is doing his job of asking tough questions. Kookinich's problem is that he really is a screwball.

The point that the media people like George S fail to understand is the point that strength through peace means treating criminals like criminals, not glorifying them as terrorists. Kucinich is the only one who is clear that the creation of nuclear weapons is just insanity.
DonkeyofHeaven 4 years ago
The Creation of Nuclear Weapons is insanity. But they already exist and other countries that aren't friendly to the USA have them. Terrorists would use them in a second. Not all countries want deplomacy. Kucinich acts like we can talk to terrorists. Fact is you can. You have to kill them like the cock roaches they are.
Bellita1 4 years ago
Bellita1, nu-uh. Terrorists aren't "roaches." Roaches do things for reasons, like they want to eat. But terrorists, they're just CrAzY!. They act for no reason. And Dennis would try to reason w/ the lunatics, huh? Very frightening. But wait, I thought, the lunatics wanted to invade the US and make it an islamofacist empire? Why would they nuke it? Then they couldn't invade it. Or did you mean they're like roaches in that they can resist the radiation?

I am glad I could clear it up for you. Now I will tell you that you should support Guiliani for President. He will kick ass and take names. Unlike Kookinich who will lick ass. Oh you probably do that also. Didn't mean to offend your homosexual lifestyle.
Bellita1 4 years ago
But Bellita1, you said that the terrorists were roaches! Do roaches have asses for Guiliani to kick? Do roaches have names for Guiliani to take? How will Guiliani find them? Please details. Will he have to spray bug spray all over the middle east? Like we did in Vietnam, you know w/ Agent Orange and maybe napalm, too? If so, who will be left to live in the Iraqi democracy after Guiliani has sprayed everyone w/ napalm?
dharmamarx 4 years ago
Doesn't really matter. As long as I have cheap gas to put in my F250 pick-up I don't give a shit who lives in the middle east. What would Kookinch do if the US is attacked again? Would he burn some incense and meditate?
Bellita1 4 years ago
Bellita1, I bet you're right; he'd probably just sit around and get stoned and nail his teenage wife. He definitely wouldn't find out who did it and how they did it and take steps to make sure they couldn't do it again. Nope. He certainly wouldn't have fancy diplomatic skills he could use to persuade states in the region to help him arrest those roaches before they attacked you or to cut down on the growing roach population, either, nope.
dharmamarx 4 years ago
Glad we agree.
Bellita1 4 years ago
Yeah and I get so excited, too, when I think about all the people Guiliani would bomb. All those hot missles. All those explosions. (Anderson Cooper would cream his pants.) It'd be even better television than 24! Do you think if we asked him nicely, Guiliani would torture someone on tv for us? Maybe he'd even dress up in drag while he did it, and we could get W. to put on a flight suit and help him. Best tv EVER!
dharmamarx 4 years ago
You are so right. That torture was just awful. I can't imagine the pain they felt when they stood there with underwear on their head. The humiliation of wearing a dog collar and worst of all, building a nude pyramid. No wonder they want to kill us. Who could endure such torture? I'am sure Kookinch will appoint someone to go suck off all those guys. Hey, maybe you could apply for that position in his cabinet.
Bellita1 4 years ago
Bellita1, no you see, the best torture were the secret renditions. What we really need is for Guiliani to put them on tv. The stuff where the CIA supervises while another country's police electrocutes people; that's the hot stuff. We could get Guiliani to wear a dress and give orders. Maybe the Mittster could stand guard and do that Gipper "father knows best" schtick. Aren't authority figures so sexy? Just think: Daddy w/ a cattle prod and the Uzbek secret police on primetime tv! Wow.
dharmamarx 4 years ago
Fine with me. I could careless what they do to them.
Bellita1 4 years ago
And when enough of you psychopaths could "care less" what happens to "them," you shouldn't wonder why there are terrorists is this world. You're made of the same cloth.
EsoterikGirl 4 years ago
We didn't create terrorism. It has always exsisted. They brought the fight on and we will prevail.
Bellita1 4 years ago
Who is "they"?
EsoterikGirl 4 years ago
First of all: Don't flip out just because you hear the word marijuana: If used for medical purposes, it would be much SAFER than many drugs that ARE legal now. Secondly, the choices we have in international affairs are not either bomb the "roaches" (nice use of dehumanization there) or do nothing: Diplomacy would actually stop the spread of terrorism.
printmusic 4 years ago
If the US didn't go around bombing the middle east, then terrorist organizations would have a lot harder of a time recruiting people: It would be hard to portray the US as evil. Sorry, but war is NEVER EVER going to solve our problems.
printmusic 4 years ago
So you think the US created terrorists? What did we do to deserve 911? Oh you are probably one of those who thinks it was an inside job.
Bellita1 4 years ago
Firstly, no I do not think 911 was an inside job. Secondly, I said that US offensives in the middle east help spread terrorism, not create it. What I am saying is that we will never solve anything by declaring war against another country, and we can never hope to "win" against terrorism this way.
printmusic 4 years ago
printmusic, I was being satirical; Bellita1 was being sub-human. Satire is the Left's secret weapon b/c satire depends upon irony and irony (appearance vs. reality) involves seeing the world from multiple perspectives. The Right is completely incapable of irony. Note that Bellita1 stopped posting as soon as I out crazied her?
dharmamarx 4 years ago
Sorry, I was in a bad mood :)
printmusic 4 years ago
Terrorist's aren't human and don't deserve to be treated as humans.
Bellita1 4 years ago
Terrorism: "use of terror, especially the systematic use of terror by the government or other authority against particular persons or groups; a method of opposing a government internally or externally through the use of terror." Gee this sounds a lot like war, doesn't it? Are you saying that our troops are "inhuman terrorists?"
printmusic 4 years ago
Nope never called our troops terrorists but I am sure you think they are. We have committed acts of war not terror.
Bellita1 4 years ago
So if a bomb fell on your house or your prized F-250 would you not be terrorized? Also: I don't think our troops are terrorists, but our president is.
printmusic 4 years ago
Wow. What a sickening comment. This is exactly the kind of thinking that led to the Holocaust.
printmusic 4 years ago
You aren't especially religious or spiritual, are you, Bellita1? You sound more like Linda Blair's character in THE EXORCIST. Justice would be that in your next life, you are reborn in another country... preferably Afghanistan or the Middle East, so you can gain a more just and realistic experience as the recipient of your own hateful thinking.
EsoterikGirl 4 years ago
And to further the analogy with the hope of stirring in you some small ability to empathize with others, I will at least hope that you are born to a couple who loves you and will mourn when you - their beloved child - is killed or maimed by a cluster bomb from the United States while someone named "Bellita1" feels no remorse.
EsoterikGirl 4 years ago
Why should I feel remorse for Terrorists? I bet you mourned the death of the highjackers didn't you?
Bellita1 4 years ago
No I didn't. You're wrong to assume that because I am against illegal wars and tens of thousands of innocent victims (not terrorists) of our (OUR) bombs, that I am in favor of terrorism. Quite the opposite. But you can't have it both ways Bellita1. You act as though you care about the victims of 9/11, but it seems by your diatribe that the event just gives you an opening to spew hatred. Very unfortunate, but you are in the minority, thank goodness.
EsoterikGirl 4 years ago
I do feel bad for the innocent people that died in this war but I don't feel bad for dead terrorists.
How was this war illegal? Congress authorized it.
Bellita1 4 years ago
EsoterikGirl 4 years ago
Sorry you are WRONG AGAIN. It wasn't based on lies it was based on faulty intelligence and not to benefit Hallilburton. Halliburton was only a benefactor of rebuilding Iraq. It was either Halliburton or some French company. Who would you choose? So it also wasn't treasonous act.
Bellita1 4 years ago
Don't you mean "some freedom company?" Every time you use that other word, the terrorists win. Yes it really is that simple.
printmusic 4 years ago
You are right I shouldn't use the word "French". They are a bunch of socialist pussy's who hate the USA just like you. Hey why don't you move to France?
Bellita1 4 years ago
You know, if America really was built up with people like you, it would be very tempting. As it is however, I think more rational minded people are in the majority, so I don't have to worry about that. (By the way- France is a democracy)

Oh ok, then they're now capitalist (Not that it really matters). You could say that the US elected a democratic majority last November to fix the blunders of the GOP! France isn't the only country with problems.
printmusic 4 years ago
So you admit that you are a Socialist and the Democrats are Socilists? Oh, What Blunders have the GOP?
Bellita1 4 years ago
Umm... nowhere did I say that... I'm lost as to how you jump to these conclusions so fast. So what blunders have the GOP made? Lets see: running our country into trillions of dollars of debt, starting the Iraq war, passing hundreds of pro-corporation bills which enable more pollution of big businesses, and lower taxes for them,
printmusic 4 years ago
What Pro corporate bills were passed to allow pollution? So if China and India aren't going to do anything about Global warming, why should we?
Bellita1 4 years ago
I misstated earlier: It's not so much what bush has passed, its what he has refused to allow, and what he has pushed. Ex: He will not sign on to the kyoto protocol, and he has pushed the "clear skies initiative," which would allow more pollution. Also: What one good thing has bush done to ensure a healthy environment for the next 80 yrs.?
printmusic 4 years ago
On global warming: Why should we? Because we still barely have influence over these countries, (I doubt it will last much longer), and we have the power to encourage them to help solve the problem. Also: If we are such a great country as we say we are, shouldn't it be our moral responsibility to do something about it whether or not other countries do as well?

throwing away our foreign relations, illegal wiretapping, ignoring many serious environmental threats, and paying the corporations to destroy it even farther!... Even Rove was scared of all the trouble the administration got into, so he jumped ship.
printmusic 4 years ago
Bellita1 4 years ago
No that is not what I mean. Corporations are profitable so that their CEOs can get richer, and they can control markets and exploit the American people. "The wiretaps were done on foreigners so they aren't illegal." That sentence makes absolutely no sense. Wiretaps were supposedly done to "fight terrorism," but we have really no idea whether or not they were also used for political purposes. (maybe to spy on anti-bush activists? But wait, you'd probably condone that too.)

RON PAUL 08
President Woodrow Wilson ->
"We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the world-- no longer a government of free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of small groups of dominant men."

The liberal press never mentions the fact that he bankrupted Clevland when he was mayor.
Bellita1 4 years ago
Belita1, you are presenting disinformation and lies which are just the propaganda of the plutocrats.
DonkeyofHeaven 4 years ago
Bellita1, wow, where did you find out that he "bankrupted Clevland"? That sure is good to know. I bet you're a real investigative reporter aren't you? And, what, you mean that Kucinich would destroy the military and open the US to invasion? Amazing. And, you say everyone posting here opposes anti-imperialist struggle (even the Washington's struggle against the British colonizers?) Wow. You sure have persuaded me never to support Kucinich again.

Kucinich is one of the most honest politicians in a profession of con-men.
I'd like to see him become head of an important house commitee & flex more influence.

Kucinich rocks, I hope he places well in Iowa/New Hampshire.

There will be no failure in this campaign, even if we don't win the White House, we will have succeeded!
ride8575 4 years ago
These are tough questions. Dennis is used to dealing with adversarial interviewers. He has done well. If only George Bush could have been put to such tests, we might have had better results in our pres elections (that is what votes were not stolen). Dennis uses common sence and the corporate managed media will not help him..just ignores or contfronts. See the spin!

Kucinich is a centrist - Clinton and Obama are so far to the right that they might as well be Republicans.
I'd vote for Kucinich but I am an Australian citizen.
nezzles 4 years ago
You are wacked. Kucinich is so far left he is off the map. If he were President other countries would invade the USA because they know he wouldn't do anything about it.

Firstly it would be highly unlikely for america to be attacked if it itself was not continuing to be the no 1 terrorist nation in the world (thats is a fact btw - do some research) and even if it was he is not a passivist, he is just anti-pre-emptive strike and so would defend his country with a military that would still have a budget thats greater then all other countries put together. Please stop being so ignorant.
