I don't know if I didn't hear it but they seem to forget the huge role the Canadian navy had in bringing supplies to Britain, we lost god knows how many ships getting weapons, vehicles, troops etc. to britain because of those damn u-boats. you'd think they'd atleast mention it.
He wasn't kidding about the shitty German torpedoes. By this point in the war, the incredibly shoddy design of the magnetic sensors--known about but ignored for years by the grossly bureaucratic and inefficient German ordinance corps--had already singlehandedly saved the lives of the HMS Ark Royal and HMS Nelson, both of which literally took direct three-torpedo salvo hits that simply thudded inertly against their keels. One of the U-boat captains actually became severely depressed after that.
Thank you for posting this series. A lot of series are valuable for historic purposes, but this series is the most in-depth that I have found to date.
@houser98288 I recommend that you check out "The World at War". It was made before Ultra was declassified, but the interviews with so many of the leaders and soldiers makes it one of the most important documentaries regardless of category.
by far my favorite documentary. Where is part 1?

This German building plan (Plan Z) was unrealistic. There would not be enough steel to build sufficient tanks. Germany was first a land power.
