J/k thanks for the upload, it helped me.

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • man u are the best video teacher i've ever met. others are so boring they talk and talk. thanks u. i hope u will continue

  • When I preform this in maya, the "object" under influence of gravity just flies through the plane, giving a small ripple (sometimes) in the plane.

  • yea um it wont to this i cant create a cloth i do it step by step. i have other objects doing other thing and it wont do any thin i cant even move the cloth selected any one know what is wrong? i had problem similar also but with gravity field i changed one thing then gravity did not work even after i changed it back and did control . any ideas? i have created cloth but what is wrong? this is what always deterred me from 3d software it is so bitchy

  • Ya you make those balls drop HAHA

  • Hello guys

    I have maya 2010.

It don't fit in the manual, the tutorials.

I mean 2010 don't have a mesh button at all!

  • ha... you can hear you computer rpms pick up

  • Nice video!! hope this will help me.... thanx

  • Smooth your mesh before converting to triangles! Triangles make really messy Geometry. D:

  • Nice tut thanks for sharing

  • how do u compress that animation and turn into a, AVI or something?

  • You can compress it from Maya, if you have the right codex installed :)

  • no no no. you have to render it out frame by frame, in your render settings. Look for (name " ext) summert like that. It will will render out sinlge frame files which then you take into after effects for composite.

  • cutie

  • excellent

  • i dont have triangulate nor smooth at my nmesh tab help me plz :O

  • dont go to nmesh just go to mesh

  • ... You need to go to polygons... then click Mesh.

  • Great Tutorial Man, Thanks!

  • hi when i refresh the psd network the texture shows in the UV editor but it doesnt change the plane :S what am i doing wrong? must i click anything to apply the textures? cheers

  • press 6

  • :O so simple yet i forgot :D haha tyvm =)

  • Do you have tutorials on creating and draping clothing on a character?

  • sorry i'm not familiar with that, i think digital-tutors might offer something like that

  • Hey I did this tutorial again but for some reason I'm having trouble with gravity. I apply the gravity field to the sphere and when I set the frame to 1, it says, "// Warning: Cycle on pSphere1.orldMatrix(0) may not evaluate as expected...blah blah..." and the ball doesn't drop. It worked before...this is a new problem. Do you know how to fix that??

  • Sweet man! Nice tutorial. Thanks!

One question though, I noticed when you click on polygon plane or sphere, the polygon shows up in the middle of the grid for you to alter. How are you doing that?? Oh, and yeah, when you triangulate, there is some kind of circular texture...not sure why that occurs either.

  • you have to click create polygon primative and uncheck interactive creation

  • Awesome...thanks!

  • PS: I use Windows XP

  • Hey, I made a plan polygon, and nMeshed it like in that video.... but I don't have the same number of "circles" on it!! I have only 2 diagonal vertexes and it doesn't bend as in the video!! Help!!

  • did you smooth it and triangulate it?

  • yes!! Just when I triangulate it.... appears only 1 diagonal line on it, at you when you triangulate appears a lot of circles and diagonal lines on them.... for "smoothing" I don't know, you didn't talk about it!!

    (I'm so noob at maya)

  • how mutch do maya cost?

  • is so fucking expensive!!!! :S

  • i'm gonna buy it :D and i'm only 13 years old o.o

  • I'll be 14 in June xD

    Psstt.... I'm downloading it XD

  • hey man thanks for directing me to the vid :)

great stuff, i'll try as soon as I can :P

    Soooo... what to do?!

  • Change the top left corner thing to polygons.

  • awesome...

    thanks man...

the manual doesn't make that too clear...

  • what you click at 6:34??

  • i deleted the grey shade, hit the delete key

  • Ok, i have a problem, on photoshop when i drag the texture to the UV, it don't move, it wont let me drag. I suck with photoshop please i need help.

  • my maya looks totaly diffrent to yours and i have maya 2009, i cant find the mesh dropdown box

  • Man mguild, great tutorial. As much as I love Maya, I just have to wait till I can get a good computer to run the software. I started a few years back and now I want to continue. As soon as I get my mac, I'll look up more of your tuts.

  • Hello, great tutorial.. Thank you

I was wondering why my sphere drops so quickly , tearing the cloth before time.

  • hey, on the righthand side there should be a nucleus node. underneath that there should be an option for gravity. play around with that, the default number should be 9.800 (m/s^2)

  • thank you once again :)
