  • what card are you using?

  • The first thing I will do is turn off bloom lighting. It highlights aliasing and it it consumes resources all for the sake of hurting my eyes. This was most impressed upon me in Fable, which was one of the first games to make extensive use of the effect. Others like it, but it's one of the things I can do to ease taxation on my PC's resources.

  • can the hp pavilion p6214y or a mac handle the gameplay?

  • @partyinmyshirt09 *laughs*

  • I play this on high setings(kinda scared to go ultra) and it is damn sick

  • **** i cant play this >Epic game on the lowest setting without all 5 mins a 15 second laag ************!!!!!!

  • I have an i7-2600 with 8 gig of game and a dedicated HD6770. It runs the game perfectly with everything maxed out (Ubersampling off). Perfectly= 60 FPS. If I turn US on it drops down to ~25.

Also fuck the people badmouthing consoles, they have their purposes.

  • Still looks amazing though

  • I played the on medium and then ultra and found very little difference...

  • @sickhawks are you using an intergrated or dedicated gpu if is intergrated thas your problem you need dedicated.

  • Anyone can help me with this? So, the performance test said I should be able to run at High fine but I can't even run at the lowest setting. I really have no clue why it does this.

  • Do I have to play the first Witcher before I play this game?

  • This is not witcher 2 this is you running around in beautiful places and slaying monsters, or is it?

  • thumbs up if you think this game is living fantasy!!

  • This is FAKE :P

  • i have everything maxed at this game. ubersampling is also on, and of couse its running at 1080p

  • ubersampling seems like a crude joke :{

  • good played :)

  • Im stucked in the first mission where everything is set on fire, I set on fire too and die :( ...

  • meh third person fails

  • @Woodeneyejust

    Nope, first person is garbage

  • I'm getting 10-20 fps, settings set to high, turned off SSAO, Motion Blur, Wet surfaces rain effect and Vsync, also set Texture downscaling to low and turned on AA (cost me around 2 FPS) on a GeForce 8600M GT.

In some places i get higher FPS (around the 30s), but most of the time is below 20s, this is the first game i'm not able to get steady 30FPS, but guess what?, This game is so epic that i don't really care, reminds me of the first time i played KotOR on a Celeron with a GeForce 4 MX card.

  • this game is coming out for Xbox 360. im not waiting though.

the version is going to look exactly the same dudes. stop arguing, theres a limit to the power of the games, thats why we have game "generetions". the difference in power and in graphics isnt much. except for the nintendo of course.

  • @ReavinBlue

What dont you understand is that the 360 gpu is 3x slower then a Geforce 8800GT and that the 360 gpu has half the video memory and has half the memory bandwidth of a 8800GT. So when the requirments for the game says 8800GT at least , people with knowledge about hardware know that the console version will be a low resolution low detailed version of the PC version.

  • @ReavinBlue dude, the difference between console and PC is that the Game can fit the console.

this means that they cant tweak here and there, lowering textures of some objects, but maxing some other textures in some other objects, and so on(with other configurantions), there are also other factors to include besides the gpu when it comesto power.

i believe the Console version might be lower than the PC version, but believe me, if the loss of graphics turn out to be too much they wont even lauch

  • awesome and would love to read your tips for the .ini file! i have a Radeon 5870 1GB. should i raise the texture memory? it's set at 2048 -- should i change it?

  • The game actually looks quite good on the lower settings as well.

  • 30- 50 fps on a gtx 480 :( that means my 9800 gt is gona die

  • @killa91194 owned

  • Phenom II x4, HD 6870, 2 gigs 800mhz ram. It runs +40fps on medium settings (1400x900), occasionally getting strutters. In addition to kinda low performance I'm having streaming problems (objects and textures loading late). Is the problem with GPU (amd tweeted that they are working on a hotfix) or with low amount of ram?

The game looks just great on medium settings but streaming problems and strutters are kinda annoying :/

  • @Wheelofconfusion gonna go with the low ram dude the os alone is using up most of it. I saw the biggest jump in performance when I went from 2gigs of ddr3 1333 to 6gigs.

  • Hey, anyone with a computer similar to mine and could say how well it's running? I have a Q9550 (oced to 3.4GHz), 4GB 800MHz ram and a GTX470 700/1400 and I play at 1920x1080. I will absolutely disable that ubersampling option along with motion blur and depth of field as I hate those. I'll probably disable AA as well as I don't think it's worth the performance hit (on new games ofc).

  • @Nirth90 I have a q9550@3.6ghz and a 5870 OC as well. I am running the game at 1920x1200 max settings except ubersampling off with 45+ fps average. I found out from a different PC that this game only needs 30 fps to run smoothly.

  • 20-40fps indoors, and ~50fps indoors on my system. e8400/4gb/radeon 5850 . Ubersampling off. All other settings on high or max.

I think a quadcore cpu is required to get great framerates, regardless of what settings to use or what video card you have.

  • @mkygod Yeah a quad core is a must. I have only a GTX275 and a quad core Phenom II x4 and it runs on all high w/ ssao and uber sampling off and it runs smooth. Its the quad core that carries the game.

  • There's no point arguing with console owners; their reasoning and lines of argument are on par with Apple owners.

  • @yuyo3333 u mad, console peasant?

  • @hatefuIIkat its been confirmed its going to consoles and they wont take any graphical hit

  • @EliteBushido As if consoles can perform as well as a modern pc. I'd love to see a 360 or PS3 load 4096x4096 textures and run them at 1080p.

  • @yuyo3333 you have no clue... retard

  • @yuyo3333 aww. are you hungry or just low bloodsugar. cause you sound mad little boy!

  • weak comp

  • 3.4 Ghz 2600k with a GTX 580, and im running around 20 fps or below. That is with max settings with ubersampling and with texture size at large and texture downscaling at low.

  • ubersampling off = not max...

  • @TrU3Ta1ent what's your definition of max? for me max is everying at the hisest setting exept for AA and anisopteric filtering

  • @Dylanorr16063 max = the max the graphics options allow you to have.

Basicly everything on its maximum, thats why its called MAX settings

  • @TrU3Ta1ent

Nope. The convention is that "max" refers to increasing *detail* settings (things like model quality, shadow quality, LOD) to their maximum. Other aspects like resolution and AA are to be listed separately. For resolution, this is because the "max" will vary from system to system (different displays.) Also, with AA: what you see in-game actually is NEVER the "maximum" anyway.. because AA is a driver setting. Common AA modes are accessible in-game as a matter of convenience.

  • Looks fine to me.... try playing games where you get 5-10fps.... now that's a fun time...

  • Not a good sign when even Koroush's PC is choppy.

  • @GohTakeshita Don't forget he is recording at the same time.. snatches away a great FPS chunk sometimes.. :P

  • @bartjoboy I know he's running FRAPS to record the video, but Crysis 2 for example was silky smooth with it running in the background.

  • looks good but the game doesn't seem very smooth in all the videos i've seen. seems like it's jerky

  • @illwill916 That probably means people's hardware ain't up to the task.

  • @slopedarmor It's mostly a driver issue. Nvidia has beta drivers ready now which improves performance a lot with this game. I am not sure if ATI has a fix underway, but they will probably also release better drivers soon..

  • I love how a perfectly calm lake makes so much noise -.-

  • What program do you use to compress the video? I have always used Virtual dub because it was recommended by Fraps, but now the youtube uploads don't have my audio. I'm willing to buy a program but want to invest in the right one. If anyone else has any recommendations pleases let me know. Thank you.

  • @ImoonPeople Virtualdub is great, though it's purpose isn't compression. Your uploads lacking audio is likely a FRAPS issue, and not related to VD. I use both and get audio...though for a period I didn't and it was because I'd set FRAPS to record multichannel audio. Anyway, compress with WinFF - MPEG HQ (720p) or SHQ (1080p).

  • @pendevil Thank you for the suggestion, I will give it a try. I did have audio in the recorded fraps version and after converting using Virtual dub, but after the youtube upload the audio was gone. I'm going to try your compression method and settings. Thank you very much.

  • Future proof, Koroush?

  • Best rpg ever made.

  • I could be wrong, but didn't the first Witcher have like......broom mounted machine guns?
