Whenever I try to save the notepad file to the AoE folder, it says I can't save there and to try somewhere else. What do I do?

Game screen on my Age of Empires II and Conquerors expansion don't fill the whole screen. This happened after I installed an update for Conquerors and fixed the color problem. I hope that someone could help me. I'm on 32-bit Windows 7. I have the video in Youtube that explains the problem. The video is called "Age of Empires II full screen problem". @gabessdsp I have windows 7, how do i start AOE2. It says that it can't initialise my gfx card. My graphics card must me compatible with DirectDraw. I set compatible mod to windows XP, but error still shows up. Please help!

I have done everything but when I go to save the file into the AOE AOK directory directly it says I have to give myself permission from my admin which is me....help me please!

@TheGoose45 save it some where else then drag it to the folder it will you are you sure and as admin you can click the one with the shield

@gummiM3d hey i found a fix while in the game go to task manager and stop process on explorer.exe when your finishd go on new task and type in explorer.exe to fix

@kobra752 not sure if this is still a problem, but try right clicking and selecting properties, then run as admin under compatibility.

So, i tried to do it like you've showed here but it didnt worked, i tried to do it by ending the explorer.exe process in task manager, i tried to fix it by launching the game in compatibility with win xp mode, i changed from 64 to 16 bit colour but all of these actions gave a shit too, so then, what am i supposed to do ?

the best solution is to run windows 98 in virtual PC, and install the game on that.

i had the same problem. dont save it directly to the folder, save it to your desktop and copy and paste it from there, it worked for me

Ok, thanks guy. i know this is your first video, and i will give you some tips for make your videos better (sorry for my bad english).

1.- use a BIGGER font on notepad... i had to put the video in fullscreen... at the same time i was trying to follow the instructions of the video, and its a little hard with the fullscreen

2.- try to write faster or write it before make the video, and you just have to show... easy and simple.

@brickfilmpro no you don't have to do that, make sure you direct the command to the proper directory, and the right exe file. Would you care to PM me the code you used and maybe I can help further.

@aedeling if you read my previous comment and do some research you will find that AoE2 does NOT WORK on widescreen monitors.
