@xrainiexwindie That's a good point! You should deactivate Sleep Mode (or 'Hibernation Mode') in the power settings of your computer. This is usually only applicable if you're using a laptop.

Go to Control Panel --> Power Settings and make sure your computer will not go to sleep.

@AnnaMacAnna We've been told that the alarm sounds like robotic crickets mating ;) BUT, it's effective for waking people up, even at lower volumes. We tried to change our alarm sound once...but so many people complained that they missed the original alarm, that we were forced to place it back online!

@sharsh1212 Hey, sharsh, you need to turn your computer's volume up all the way to make the alarm sound louder.

Most users find the alarm sound so annoying, that it works to wake them up even at lower volume levels, though ;)

If you're using a laptop, just keep your computer from going into power-saving mode.

Also, don't let Windows Updates automatically install and reboot your computer. If you watch out for these two things, you'll be fine ;)

well its been about a week... and i still love this thing. i have a hard time getting up, so i hooked my comp. to my radio and turn it all the way up. you saved me like $60 from getting a new extra loud alarm clock.

For now, however, we're trying to keep our alarm clock's design as simple and minimal as possible (like Twitter!).

Hi aznclair111,

You need to change your computer's settings so that it doesn't hibernate.

It's OK if a screensaver goes on: the alarm will still go off and the sound will still be heard, but you definitely need to deactivate hibernation mode in your computer ;)

Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Power Options, Hibernate.

Uncheck the Enable Hibernation box. This way, the computer won't go into hibernation mode.
