Really fantastic job!! You play a beautiful rendition and you've got really nice tone. I remember hearing this on the radio once in a while in the seventies( long after it came out) brings back good memories. Don't know if acoustic guitar magazine is availbable in South Korea but they posted Ed Gerhards rendition (TAB) of a closer walk with thee (note for note) pretty cool. You might want to check it out. its in the July 2010 issue page 84. I'm guessing you probably play by ear though.
Very beautiful. wrote an arrangement in "double Drop D" tuning. Not as complex, but I am singing, too. I might record it again, because the YouTube compression messed up the tone badly.
Nice playing! ... I wish I could get the complete tabs for this. I hope the Ed Gerhard tabs are not watered down... because every single not is important in this song! thanks again
i bought a BR -60 and love it it is fa nominal for a laminate back and sides box unbelievable sound for 440$ with a hardshell case if any thing ever happened to it i would definitely replace it anyway way cheaper then a martin and has a great dollar to awesomeness ratio
i sat in elderly interments and played all of them and honestly to my shock there where VERY few duds wonderful for the price through out the whole line wish i had some more cheese id go get another and yes youd be paying 6000 dollars on a martin that sounded like the br 280 with all the trim ins you think you could loan me some cheese im G>A>S in over here LOL
First of all, IMO, everything in Elderly Instruments is overpriced.
They point I was originally trying to make (and I might have been vague about it) is that before Blueridge became a popular brand, they were dirt cheap... on Musician's Friend in any event.
cool didn't mean to get off point sorry BTW i agree with you about elderly but they have a cool don't ask dot bother policy about playing any instrument they have on the floor you can grab 6000 dollar boxes and play them for forty min uninterrupted very cool anyway good chatting with you
I have also look every where, and i can not found it. well, chords yes . but it sound much better on tabs. so if it not to much would you send it to me ? :D i will be very happy
The tab is in a book called "Henry Mancini - Pink Guitar" which you can get from Amazon. It has a lot of great versions of his songs done in different tunings by a variety of players. The music book comes with an instruction cd. You can also buy a cd by the same name which is just the songs being played. I've enjoyed them both.
What guitar are you using, mate? Is that a Blueridge pre war?

God, I wish that I'd bought one of those things before the price went through the roof.

I was thinking more along the lines of a BR-280... which (at $3500.00) is still many times cheaper than an equivalent Martin.

Guitar Center has the same policy.
You can go in the climate controlled (Martin, Taylor, Gibson) room and stay their all day for all they care.
