Nine of the Ten Commandments are repeated in the New Testament. Jesus Christ said, “If you love Me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). In the book of 1 John, it is very plain and straightforward that our love for God is evidenced by our keeping of His commandments.
@Monica17N First of all, the Bible is very clear that salvation is by faith alone. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). We are justified by faith in Jesus Christ. However, this does not make void the Law of God (or the commandments of God or how God wants us to conduct ourselves, our families, communities, and government).
@Monica17N Also the law tells us what sin is (Romans 3:20). This video mocks those who are sincerely trying to follow God’s commandments, serve Him, and draw closer to their infinite, personal, and loving Creator God. This video instead exalts those who are righteous in their own eyes (Romans 10:3) and use the grace of our God for occasion to the flesh. They do not esteem the sacrifice that Jesus Christ paid for us and mock Him with their actions.
I know that, the law is not voided out. I said that we are no longer bound by it. I like the theme of the video, but I think they should have had a Pharisee instead, cause the guy in the overalls looked like a brand new Christian trying to do his best. It's good to do your best, but I think the video was attempting to express how some people get a little bit too strict and more concerned with what we do rather THAN what Jesus has done. But not very well represented in the video
@Monica17N Paul said, “Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid! Rather I establish the law” (Romans 3:31). “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin (violation of God’s laws) that grace may abound? Certainly not! What then? Shall we sin (disregard and rebel against God and His law/Word) because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!” (Romans 6:1, 2, 15).
@kalebgeorge I already know these verses. Read my original comment, I did not say that the law is bad and that the law is voided out.
We should not disregard the law, but the point is that we're not BOUND by it anymore. Being bound to something means being a slave to it. The law is good and we must follow His commandments to the best of our ability, but doing THAT is not what makes the difference in where we spend our eternity. Please do not put words in my mouth, thank you
@Monica17N I agree. Sorry. My response may have been a little blunt and offensive. It is just that so many Christians today live and believe like God has nothing to say about how we are to live our lives. It is encouraging to know that there are still Christians that try to follow the Bible. Thankyou.
@kalebgeorge Well it may have been wonderful to David, but it didn't help David when he violated said law with Bathsheeba. David needed mercy, a withholding of punishment, and God obliged. We have it even better. We're under grace. No punishment or condemnation to them that believe.
And furthermore, having never been a Jew I was never under law. Not then. Not now. The only law I obey is the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, given to me by His grace, the faith to believe.
@gore53 The law helped him by showing him where he erred so that he could know that he had sinned against God and God alone (Psalm 51). The law then became a schoolmaster (Galatians 3:24) to bring him back into a right relationship with his omnipotent Creator God (Genesis 1:1).
@gore53 The law helped him because it made clear that he was guilty and deserving of death (Genesis 9:6). He murdered a man and the law called for his blood (Numbers 35:30). He broke, in effect, nine of the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17). However, our merciful, gracious God (Deuteronomy 4:31) forgave David when he sincerely repented of his sins and turned his heart again toward God.

We love God because he first loved us. What happens when you leave your first love?

This mockery of God's law is disgraceful!!!
Even David said over and over "How I love thy Law!" "In it I meditate day and night."

@kalebgeorge of course. The law is NOT bad, but its purpose is not to save us.
For by grace we are saved through faith and that NOT OF OURSELVES it is the gift of God. Not of works lest anyone should boast.
For we are no longer under the law but under grace.
However I agree with you I didn't like the video at all

The extent of Mr. Law's goofiness in this video is proportionate to the amount of shame and guilt people who try to live under the law feel.
