  • Grate vid... but why is a New York Central loco hauling Union Pacific Coaches?

  • @LopezHernandezAdrian By the time I bought the loco and the cars I didn't know that a NYC loco hauling UP coaches would be wrong cause I wasn't really familiar with north American railroading and the different roads. The dealer in Germany had only UP cars in stock, so I took them. Plan is to exchange my UP Challenger, that currently pulls a mixed freight, with a Big Boy, use it for hauling this UP passenger train and get some NYC Pullmans for the Hudson. But that is 6,500 € away from now...

  • @qora01m Oh... sorry... i wan unaware that you were not from the US... My bad... still a great vid... POST MORE!!!

  • it is not a real train unless it is big enough to kill a cat. Nicely done.

  • LOVE it^^

  • Looks good just the way you have it. If you don't really care, don't worry about. I bet a lot of people would love a NYC Hudson to pull their UP cars, especially that many. After all they ain't cheap.

  • @fredjackamikoons Thanks for the comment. You're right, but in the meantime I do care more and more unfortunately. I could probably use my UP Challenger to pull the train pretending it was the Wyoming area it runs trough. But what to pull then for the Hudson? Maybe an express train with one RPO, 2 baggage, 3 sleepers and a diner...

    Best regards

    Frank

  • @qora01m actually ive seen the husons pull freight

  • @residentevil742 That's interesting! I searched the net for it and it was i.e. milk trains that were hauled from the Hudson. Will think about it...

  • im glad you got the best train ever. i hope u took good caire of that train.

  • The Best Electric Hudson you can buy to Date in G scale, Congrats, thanks for Sharing

  • Why is it pulling Union Pacific coaches? It's a New York Central Hudson. They pulled New York Central coaches.

  • @Dinosorable Of course it is, I know. And in that way the consist is not matching the loco. But by the time I bought the engine it was my first g scale loco and UP coaches were the only ones the dealer had in stock. Since I wanted to have a whole train and I wasn't yet aware of such detail I bought them. It became more of them and now it's too expensive to exchange them with NYC coaches. Maybe sometime they build the 844. Then that would be a better way to haul the train.

  • @qora01m Yeah. And maybe sometime, they build NYC coaches, it would be a better way to use your Hudson.

  • That Zimo sound (whistle and chuff) sounds stellar! Beautiful setup >:-)

  • @rayman4449 ...but I felt so sorry for the Phoenix sound when I needed to remove it. I wasn't able to synchronize sound with smoke output, although you can adjust it precisely with Zimo. So I purchased that other sound you hear now. But in the end this is ok for me as well. Anyway thanks for the comment. :)

  • @qora01m Well I can say that I've heard the phoenix sound and what you have with the Zimo there simply blows it away as far as the quality of the sound of the chuff and whistle. It sounds fantastic!

  • Hello, wow like the smokin train ,what smoke unit did you install? Thanks for sharing.

  • @dlocomotive54 It is a selfmade one. The basic idea is the same as within USAT or Aristo smoke units. The casing yet is made from heat resistant plastic. The steam is generated by a glass fiber wick that is wrapped round a resistor that becomes hot while 18V DC runs through it. The wick get's the oil from a tank underneath. The fan is originally for cooling a laptop. Fan and resistor a controlled by Zimo MX690V decoder. The DC has to be converted from DCC first.
