  • THIS SONG IS SWEET.

  • Not crazy about his music but this guy sure is a sight to be seen

  • Totally reminds me of Donovan in '68

  • this song is a cup of tea.

  • Now he sounds like a young Loudon Wainwright 111. Every time I hear this guy he reminds me of someone different from sixties/early seventies.Bit Donovanish but less melody.

  • AHORA QUE LO SE!!

  • nothing lke jeff buckely first of all. econdly this is the first time i've heard this and i'm in shock... it's mesmorizing. i wish devendrah banhart had a cult. i would join

  • He does. It's called Naima Harman.

  • It sounds a little bit like Dream Song by Scott Matthews in places.

  • Its much like Jeff Buckley

  • Not that much, he has something of Marc Bolan, Nick Drake and Donovan, plus A bit of Joni Mitchell and many more. That's where he starts, then he's an artis on his own.

  • Absolutely beautiful.

  • One of the most beautiful tracks ever-with little echoes of Nick Drake(-:

  • This song is so so so underrated. the guitar makes my heart sing with his fingerpickin hypnotic precision and the lyrics are more truthful than true (especially the second and third stanza). His voice is also great (usually im not a big fan of his voice). plus the cello adds a wonderous depth. anyone else agree?

  • gosh I KNOW. they just right him off as some hippie that writes bs music while hes high or something..but he's soo much cooler than that.

  • I can't get over how much I love this song. Any one else think the VERY beginning sounds like Whatever (Some Folk Song in C) by Elliott Smith?

  • Devendra is a great talent! just listen.

  • these tunes are healing my soul... so touching, in a calm way...

  • this is one of the greatest songs ever written....so sincere, so haunting, so true

  • Thanks for posting.

  • just great...haunting....

  • this cello sighs in the depth of our souls

    ;-DD

  • ...and in the eye of the Magenta-hurricane-hering... =~D

  • I listened to this song 16 times today...omg...

  • Wow.....he's just takes me away.....

  • I dismissed Banhart as some dirty hippie, but this song changed my mind. Its a rare thing when one song can change your whole outlook. This is a stone classic, a song that will be remembered for the ages.

  • Julianindica, Don't be so quick to look down on "dirty hippies".

Think about it. It's the moneyed class, the clean-cut so-called respectable people, the pillars of our society who're dirty. They're plugging landfills with their cheap plastic christmas stocking stuffer crap. Dirtying our air with their two hour commutes between jobs that contribute nothing of value, and their suburbia-absurdia gassing-off monster houses.

Not all hippies are dirty - but if so, what's YOUR Fing problem, eh?

  • hippies bath too... we just do it with friends to use less water :D

  • Yes, we do wash. And we're not using chemical soaps and shampoos. Just think of the CUMULATIVE effect of all those chemicals going down the drains, oy.

    Cheers, bro'!

  • ..and screw in dirty sleeping bags (according to Joanna Newsom). Got hippie-phobia? I suggest buying a snuggly teddy bear!

  • @polo12guard aha i love this! it's so true (:

  • heard this on the show friday night lights an found out who it was on nbc website. he has pretty, sensitive voice. sounds like velvet underground and nick drake. terrific post

  • his soul cries out for the world to see and hear ,healing is on the way

  • this man is handsome in an authentic old fashun way

  • he touched cords in my inner being

he sees feels has lived some of my life

  • this song melts my coeur
