  • I like french toast after a hard night of drinking. Then Cynthia looks in my eyes and knows the truth.

  • "Beck's a lovely man, very generous soul, very genuine", just listen to what Jamie Lidell says and you'll find the reason why you have to stop talking about Beck's religion

  • Scientology is no more ridiculous than Christianity, Judaism, Islam, or Hinduism.

  • This video annoys me. You search for things like "Beck and scientology" on YouTube because you are interested in what Beck has to say about scientology. Instead you get people defending him, being cryptic about it, etc. If it's really a "low blow" to mock Beck, then why doesn't he just speak publicly and clear it all up for us?

  • @instereovideos 'Cause he realizes it doesn't actually matter. He most likely doesn't feel the need to talk about it, because it simply isn't an issue. It's not his job to inform you of his personal life. It's his job to create. That's all anyone should be concerned with. When people search for "Beck and Scientology", what they really should be searching is "Scientology", clearly that's what they are truly interested in. Their interest in Beck only acts as a catalyst. It's a clever mask really.

  • @Laviedusurrealisme Sounds like you've bought into Scientology yourself. And your point about it being "his personal life?" If Beck thinks that Scientology is a worthwhile way to think about the world, then he would want to tell people why, unless he's an asshole. And if he's just an asshole, he should stay out of the public light. Don't defend the rights of Scientologists to evade questions, that religion dupes people out of millions of dollars. It should be made accountable.

  • @instereovideos There is not enough space for me to reply properly. So I'll just ask these questions. What makes you think any one human doesn't have a personal life? Why should he bother evangelizing, if he is aware that what works for others is fine, assuming he thinks that? Yes, the "church" should be held accountable for destroying people, along with Cruz, Travolta, and other evangelists. The only time Beck's in the "public light" is when he is promoting an album. No I'm not a Scientologist.

  • @Laviedusurrealisme

You're right... any human being has a right to a personal life. Unless they endorse something that hurts people and they happen to be a public figure who has influence over people. Then the public should know why this influential person believes in things that might get other people hurt.

Translation: your rights end where the rights of others begin. It's pretty basic in our society.

  • @instereovideos You like Beck. He's into scientology. You want to know why. You search: Beck, Scientology. No answer there. You then search Scientology. It's from here that you can either choose to join the escapists or not, by doing some critical thinking. By saying nothing he avoids influencing your decision either way. If one can't handle that decision, they need some real help. The problem with your translation is that it's far too basic. Ones belief does not negate the others existence.

  • @Laviedusurrealisme Oh shush. Quit defending the actions of others just because you like his music. You don't have some kind of in-depth perspective on this. Any public figure who claims to be a Scientologist should tell others why he believes what he or she does. It's not a matter of rights, he has the right to be a douche bag if he wants, but not everyone has to approve of it. So much for your big flowery analysis.

  • @instereovideos I'm not defending anything other than Beck's choice to deal with a question, that holds a obvious answer. He was born and raised a scientologist. It works for him. No one, myself included has to approve of it. Just accept it as is. You're right, I don't have an in-depth perspective on this, because there isn't anything in-depth to perceive. Seems as though you think rights only apply legally. It's pretty funny you think, that was a big and flowery analysis. Agree to disagree.

  • @Laviedusurrealisme Yep, and I have the right to call any Scientologist an idiot and an asshole for declaring himself one. Deal with it.

  • @instereovideos Hahaha! never said you couldn't. I think I'll sleep just fine.

  • @Laviedusurrealisme That was a lame ending to the argument.

  • We are just some people who like Beck's music, so why are you complaining about his religion?. I mean, do we have somebody telling in what should we believe in? No, so let Beck believe in whatever he wants, he isn't doing any wrong. I think it's great that he believes in Scinetology and I think it's great that you believe in your religion. Each of us has freedom to decide in what we believe, Beck too.

  • oh. poor beck. give me a break. anybody who admits to being a scientologist deserves to be made fun of 24/7

  • maybe beck likes being in a cult. personally i would go towards satan you know, but to each his own.

  • maybe beck likes being in a cult. personally i would go towards satan you know, but to each his own.

  • oh god poor Beck

  • This guy has most likely signed a confidentiality agreement He's covering his arse WISELY The Church O Scientolgy KNOwS how to get away with MURDER and have done so MANY TIMES to people that doublecross them. A guy that shall remain nameless did some sessions w/ BECK and said he had to have a personal translator to relay everything he said as to not speak directly to the "lesser than" engineer working on his record Now that's a total dickmove no matter what religion you are!

  • hipster garab.

  • fuck god fuck the devil fuck heaven fuck hell fuck jews muslims christians adn mormons fuck hollywood save yourself from scientology

  • Calm down. You must be angry a lot.

  • Scientology is pretty awesome.

  • You really think so?

  • i just think that everyone should respect each others religion

  • i dont

  • that doesnt mean i think scientology isnt right or wrong i just think everybody has their rights

  • na im just messing really. I believe everyone is entitled to belief what they want, i do have problems with scientology but i find it funny how a lot of the people who critisise it are christians and the like. Pretty ironic coming from the biggest cult ever. dont get me wrong, believe what you want to believe.

  • They should. But Beck was sucked into his cult. His parents were Scientologists. And it's a proven fact that Scientology uses sexual abuse and embarrassment to trap people into their cult. It's evil. It's an evil scam. I feel so bad for Beck. I used to love his music, and I still do. But some songs taste too much of Scientology for me now. Like e-pro and gamma ray.

  • im not for scientology But where is the sexual abuse come from, Considering that becks mother was a warhol film star so what evidence are you going from about Ritual abuse. thats as far fetched as Heavy metal being satanic.

  • Comment removed

  • @salvadory isnt that Just about every Religion. all using extortion and guilt tactics to gain some sort of control. from Catholicism to Scientology. to Christianity.

  • @skawashers yeah and thats why i dont belong to organized religions! and especially scientology which is not a religion but a bad sci fi movie- atleast islam and the bible have some historical facts and truth in with their web of lies- scientology was created just a few decades ago and is based on complete bullshit! Beck can do what he wants- he just chose the easiest target in my opinion!

  • @salvadory really islam and the bible have historical facts? . Really Like what as id like to here the evidence of Historical facts from the Bible that have come up with hard Evidence and not just hearsay.

Oh i know that the bases of Scientology was constructed on a bet

    L. Ron Hubbard, mentioned that the only way to make substantial amounts of money is through Religion. so as a sci fi writer he was able to construct this web of hocus pocus tosh. cash for salvation

  • @skawashers yes they do - not proof they are right- there are indeed historical proofs that certain kings ruled - etc etc- i didnt say prooves they are right- afterall is there not a temple mount?- is there not a jerusalem and a mecca? however scientology doesnt even have basic geographical history or any evidence of their claims even at a basic level- whether jesus existed is not provable- however we do know the romans conquered that area and the jews were present- see my point !

  • @skawashers ps youve misunderstood me if you think im giving credit to islam or christianity- i was just pointing out that some archeology and history has confirmed some basic historical facts of the area and some of the people in the bible and the koran - doesnt make the religion true- just means the fairytale was included in some basic true history- as if i were writing a make beleive character or belief inside a legimate real historical content- ofcourse alot of it is bullshit too

  • He took that question way too seriously.

  • why does everyone keep saying that every religion is corrupt, everyone either hates scientology or christianity! am i the only one who doesnt have a problem with either? and maybe beck is a devout scientologist, maybe he does care about it. i say he should care about his religion.

  • Once I've had your same ideas, but then I foun out what scientology was all about, it is not a religion, it is a dangerous cult, please read the wikipedia page, do some research! It's not another religion, everyone should be informed about the danger of this cult!

  • LOL at "please read the wikipedia page" man..

  • He totally changed the subject though... Did Beck and the people in his pose try and get you to take a "FREE" personality test? It's a simple question! Yes or no? I'm gonna guess yes...

"If you want to make a little money, write a book. If you want to make a lot of money, create a religion." - L Ron Hubbard

  • ok Beck is a scientologist and George Bush is in Christianity, now who has killed more people?

if scientology is brainwashing, whats every other religion been doing the past thousand years?

  • Honestly. I'm sick of this crap. The truth is that the leaders (and many of the followers) of nearly every religion have at one time done corrupt, immoral, and dishonest things. But is Beck hurting anyone? Does he ever even promote Scientology or talk about it in his songs? No. Leave the dude alone.

  • hear hear. Beck's Scientology is as important as Billy Corgan's Catholicism - not at all - they make great music, that's all.

  • Well said mrmagiceyelens.Stop swallowing tabloid news media trash as fact and truth people. All groups since the beginning of time have equally honorable and corrupt elements. Not all Catholic Priests are pedophiles nor Christians fascists nor Muslims terrorists. Get a legitimate education FFS, not wikipedia?!! WHAT a FUCKEN joke! You can't be serious? Beck's personal integrity speaks VOLUMES in his music and work. If the world had more ppl with such genuine honesty it would be a far better place

  • Amen.

  • So, Beck is in a cult. Who gives a fuck? He doesn't talk about it or use it in topics for his songs. I believe scientology is an aberration and don't understand why an intelligent man such as him could be in with them (apparently he's not that devout) but it's his life. It doesn't affect me and it obviously hasn't affected his brilliance.

  • he was born into it. its just like being born christian. you might be one but not all that big on practicing it.

  • Beck > Scientology

  • Scientology is great! I have had so many wins from applying this religious philosophy!!!

  • such as?

Its not a religion. Its a cult by the way.

  • Whats the defintion of a cult? I guess you are an expert making such a statement.

  • n. 1. 1. A religion or religious sect generally considered to be extremist or false, with its followers often living in an unconventional manner under the guidance of an authoritarian, charismatic leader. 2. The followers of such a religion or sect. 3. Obsessive, especially faddish, devotion to or veneration for a person, principle, or thing. 4. The object of such devotion.

  • Anti- $cientology is great- it's the bridge to real freedom of speech and expression. I've had many wins not being a brain washed puppet!

  • beck is the most talented writer and musician, and his music would never have been the way it is if he werent brainwashed ! judging people is so horrible, so fuck you hateaters!

  • oh please, get over yourself. discrediting Beck's genius because of some mild scientology belief. he's not like tom cruise who goes around in some vile way trying to convert people.

  • there is no such thing as a mild Scientology belief- do some research. It is a cult that BRAINWASHES people. Also, I would argue that Beck is far from a musical genius, but then again, it's all a matter of opinion.

  • JHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA OMG RUINED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF LIVES. UR A FUCIKING IDIOT. HOLY FUCK. it hasnt ruined one single person life. and only dozens of people have claimed it has, becasuse they want to blame someone for their own problems.

  • o....k.... you need to go have your head checked out buddy.

  • u need fuckin help there is nothing wrong with scientology

  • Being in it for the money doesn't really make sense. Unless he enjoys paying the church a lot.

  • if you listen very closely, you may notice that all his songs are about the wonders of scientology

  • like "loser"?

  • psh, oh yeah. right. i wanna defy all the logic of our sexx laws... baby, show me where your thetans at.
