  • hi i got a tear in my iris but not yet see a doctor for it happened after lasik surgery which i find weird i em more curious if a iris does have healing capability,s if so i will just wait this out cause i have double vision cause of it which give headaches

  • @007foppe The Iris does not heal. But was it a complicated LASIK procedure as its not a discriped complication of LASIK. That is weird.

  • @taay007 im happy you answered my question as i thought they done it deliberately soon i need to go there for my 3e check-up but lol i don't feel like i want to go there any more also notice this clinic,s people lie,s allot like from the start they promise if my eyes goes bad again they redo it again (Lifetime warranty) then if i call there call centre they say you only get 4 years :S its only the top of the iceberg ,what they did to me is like if you come back we remove you iris next time -_-

  • oh btw i have really great respect for all u doctors! i could never do this :O what u do is awesome <3 x

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! this is horrible :( i have coloboma on one eye and its perfectly fine . . . it dosent even look terrible . . . why do people do this to themselves?? was there a proplem with the eye other than what it looked like?

  • ITS A SCAM! please listen do not do it! It is not approved in any country and is a SCAM! I'm begging you! DONT DO IT!

  • so let me know, the pupil is one size and is the Iris that dilates or contracts ?

  • @AntIChriSS

The pupil is still reactive to light and near as the sphincter is still intact and it was repaired. Pupil is a little smaller than the other side as their was tissue loss in the accident.

  • this was awesome. did i understand correctly that you were operating under the cornea? how is that even possible? im a second year med student intressted in surgery, thats why im cureous.

another question would be: is the patient able to have myosis? the m. sphincter papillae should be damaged, shouldnt he?

    regards from switzerland

  • Thanks for uploading this video. Its very educative

  • 3:57 Looks like an exclamation mark!!!

  • how does this happen

  • can you do this just to change your eye color?

  • No.

  • @taay007 why not??????

  • @tosiguki

Eye color is genetic, stupid. This is akin to getting stitches after you get a really bad cut. Stitches can't make your skin blue. Surgery can't change your phenotype.

    There are contacts for that.

  • Yes, this was an injury not a birth defect, which is called Congenital Coloboma.

  • For those wondering, I thin this is called 'traumatic' because this coloboma was caused by an injury and not as a result of the eye not forming properly pre birth. That also makes sense of the written info where the surgeon talks of approaching the repair through a wound.

  • i got coloboma on my left

  • Hi.

i am adopting a baby with this condition, trying to do research on the condition, how is your vision, any info would be greatly appreciated, as its a rare condition.thanks

  • @bekan555 heya I have this condition and need glasses but it isnt very serious my left eye ( the eye with the coloboma) needs stronger lenses than the left but other than that i am perfectly fine with my eyes :D they dont look terrible I would never want to swap them and people hardly notice these things :) hope this helped

  • I have iris coloboma. Its unique.

  • Comment removed

  • Oww?!?! O_<

  • when i look at that it hurts in my eye really hurts wää

  • Does it have to be traumatic?

I take it to be 'traumatic' because it has to be operated on, LIVE.

    Am I right?

Can it not be done while the patient is put to sleep, numb with anaestetics?

  • I don't think so, I know that you have to keep your eye focused forward, because if you look in another direction, it will rip you up.

  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeew

  • eww

  • 5 stars for this magical WORK, it deserves thousands more. I really admire this. Let's look at the affected eye and look at the result,

WOW. You really are a fantastic eye surgeon.

Thank you very much for this video.

No more throwing socks with holes away now that we know you're around!!! :)

  • What is the benefit of this surgery? Does it help to reduce the person's photo-sensitivity or improve some of the melty vision cause by the malformed iris? Or is this purely aesthetic?

I was born with coloboma in both eyes and have not had it fixed. Personally if there is only the appearance change, why go through such a painful eye surgery?

  • Hi Meepmopp, I have searched a bit in this area,so perhaps my reply will be correct: on this vid case, it was a very severe coloboma. One of these that affects the vision totally. I think that in this case, it was really necessary and that of course it was up to the patient,I guess that this person has wanted this to be able to regain vision.

If your colobomas are slight, your vision is not affected,or can "standardly" be corrected?

(I know that certain slim ones don't affect vision.)

    TC,

    Mag

  • the benefits question was more aimed at the surgeo. I have sever colobomas in both eyes, though not quite as severe as in the video. I'm urious as to this helps as its hard to imgine that it would provide much difference other than reduce the photosensitivity of people with this condition.

  • I understand this dear friend.I hope you find info, strength and enough 'karma' to make your decision.I think that these ops are done in 100% right conditions. Don't stop at the title, it's called 'traumatic', OK, but one thing we always tend to associate our eyes with, is the brain.Because our eyes are close parts to our brain, yet ear-care can a lot more traumatising. Seek caring but real advice,PM me,I e-met a good professor,I think it has to be made live because of the nature of eyes, unsure,M

  • I have no intention in having this type of surgery. I'm just curious on what type of benefits it can have and on what type of patient, ie. what and how severe their eye condition may be. In a coloboma case such as mine, there are multiple colobomas (optic nerve, cholroid, iris, retina, weak eye muscles and a general smallness of the eyes altogether) As a result of such under development of the optic system, there is very little vision to be had.

  • Even if outward things like the iris were to miraculously fix, the signals would be haywire from the various processes it must go through to reach the brain. Not only do images have to deal with the numerous colobomas but also nystagmus and and strabismus in the right eye. Seemingly an arduous task if i must say so myself.

  • this makes me wanna go eat alot of something man!

  • i have coloboma and im proud

  • omg i have coloboma in my left eye

  • haha i just found out today i have it too in my left eye:P

  • oh and like that video is nasty lol

  • i have coloboma in my right and left eye in 1997 i was in the english medical journal they took a ton of pictures of my eyes but i dont remember i was only 2

  • Did thid guy really have to repair his coloboma?

  • tnx for this video...i really need it for a documentary..thank you very much..

  • that's an easier way of doing it:

Osher RH, Snyder ME, Cionni RJ.Modification of the Siepser slip-knot technique.

    J Cataract Refract Surg. 2005 Jun;31(6):1098-100.

    AHMED SALLAM

  • Hi Ahmed

Thanks for the comment. That is the Siepser slip-knot technique, but its through the other wound. The location of the coloboma in the lower nasal quadrant, makes it more difficult to do it at the original location, so I did Siepser slip-knot but through an upper temporal wound, where it was easier for me. Thank you for your the comments, always good to hear them. Keep in touch bud.
