@lurkerrekrul That's the sound of the program being loaded in from the diskette. Unlike most home computers at the time, the Atari line of 8-bit computers allowed you to monitor (via audio) the loading of programs from tape or disk. Believe it or not, those sounds were a good way to know if there was a problem with the program (or the disk).

Same! I also had the same boot menu for Atari 800XL with floppy 1050. That was good times and better than C64. :)
