Lmao. This was my senior year. Believe it or not, who started this was me and my aviation technology cluster brothers. I sent a message to them saying 'lets start a snowball fight' as a joke and they started sending it as a mass message. It was the best damn year at Skyline High! SKYLINE AVIATION CENTER CLASS OF 2011!
That day was crazy. Simple as that. I really don't understand why they didn't cancel school because honeslty we barely did any work that day, most of the teachers were gone anyway. It's just such a shame that whenever Skyline is mentioned all the bad stuff comes up, it's actually a pretty decent school, however I can't wait to graduate.

At my High School we only had one security guard and he wasn't even needed. Oh but again it was mostly white kids and for some strange reason we treated each other with respect and seldom got into a fist fight. And when a fight did happen and it ended then we shook hands. We did not go get a knife or gun. Might of had something to do with parenting.... hmmm.

@ChiWehWeh There aren't enough cops to deal with such problems. Cops do come to that school. However, you would have to station at least 10-20 cops probably to stop such a thing. I doubt people would start fights with 10-20 cops on campus. The students are not afraid of the teachers or the security. You have a very small number of security guards and 5,000 students many of whom are in gangs. You need to involve the community, open cultural centers, have a dialogue and security.

This isn't the first major fight in Skyline. I saw worse than that. One time the electricity went out and there were huge fights in the cafeteria, people running like crazy in the hallways, cops came on horseback and arrested people. There were cameras there, but they decided not to put it on TV.
@martin4556alv I am not so sure Skyline is a great school. It was maybe in 1988. I worked for a boss who graduated from there in the 1980s when it was a good school. Later, I had the misfortune of teaching there where students stole from me, I saw students having fights in the hallways, in classes, there were rolls of toilet paper put in the toilets, East Side and Varrio 13 putting gang writing in the bathroom, a guy took out his penis in someone's class, halloween decorations on fire.
The media should make themselves useful and cover stories on how the district need to provide us with more teachers, more books, more chairs, fixing our school, more security, fixing our heaters and ac (its been horrible this year), helping students with financial need, basically anything that would ACTUALLY help us students and faculty at Skyline ,not make things worst for us.
The media always changes things to make them seem more exciting, and mesmerize people into believing what they want. The school has nearly 5,000 students, most students either stayed in class or didn't even go to school on that day. Not to mention that we have insufficient security guards. This is not as big of a deal as they made it out to be. Maybe if the district would have made a better judgment , and canceled school this would have been prevented. But regardless this kids were going to have snowball fights at home or other locations, because this much snow is new to us (exciting).
For Crying out loud they are teenagers ! In Dallas we very rarely get this much snow, it was new to us. Kids simply wanted to have fun and enjoy the snow before it was gone, because most of the time when we get snow, it melts in about two hours. Yes, i agree the fighting was way out of control but sometimes things that start out as innocent fun goes wrong.

I have been to 3 of the hellish schools in that district which Hillcrest being the WORST and that wasn't even BA which is notorious. Just about every thing goes on at those schools from kids having oral sex in the auditorium to bringing beer to lunch or smoking weed out side (along with every thing else including cheese which is low grade herein). While teachers are stealing electronics and supplies while those at the top are embezzling school funds when they can possible.

I'm* there's an apostrophe in there, i should be capitalized, a comma in between black and mexican, and the first letter of a sentence should always be capitalized. Also, "so go to school and learn first." is a fragment (consider revising)

i go to skyline, and i have to say the football players started it by tackling people and also they didnt film all the other people NOT involved that were having fun. also there WAS security just not in the 2 or so minutes that they put on the air, its amazing how the way they put this made us all seem like a bunch of barbarians, also we wernt the only school having a snowball fight, just the only ones getting looked down on for it

This isn't the first major fight in Skyline. I saw worse than that. One time the electricity went out and there were huge fights in the cafeteria, people running like crazy in the hallways, cops came on horseback and arrested people. There were cameras there, but they decided not to put it on TV.

@martin4556alv I am not so sure Skyline is a great school. It was maybe in 1988. I worked for a boss who graduated from there in the 1980s when it was a good school. Later, I had the misfortune of teaching there where students stole from me, I saw students having fights in the hallways, in classes, there were rolls of toilet paper put in the toilets, East Side and Varrio 13 putting gang writing in the bathroom, a guy took out his penis in someone's class, halloween decorations on fire.

The media should make themselves useful and cover stories on how the district need to provide us with more teachers, more books, more chairs, fixing our school, more security, fixing our heaters and ac (its been horrible this year), helping students with financial need, basically anything that would ACTUALLY help us students and faculty at Skyline ,not make things worst for us.

The school has nearly 5,000 students, most students either stayed in class or didn't even go to school on that day. Not to mention that we have insufficient security guards. This is not as big of a deal as they made it out to be. Maybe if the district would have made a better judgment , and canceled school this would have been prevented. But regardless this kids were going to have snowball fights at home or other locations, because this much snow is new to us (exciting).

For Crying out loud they are teenagers ! In Dallas we very rarely get this much snow, it was new to us. Kids simply wanted to have fun and enjoy the snow before it was gone, because most of the time when we get snow, it melts in about two hours. Yes, i agree the fighting was way out of control but sometimes things that start out as innocent fun goes wrong.

I have been to 3 of the hellish schools in that district which Hillcrest being the WORST and that wasn't even BA which is notorious. Just about every thing goes on at those schools from kids having oral sex in the auditorium to bringing beer to lunch or smoking weed out side (along with every thing else including cheese which is low grade herein). While teachers are stealing electronics and supplies while those at the top are embezzling school funds when they can possible.
