I disagree. Socialism can be very successful WITHOUT a lot of money. Cuba, for ex, a relatively poor nation which has one of the highest standards of living in the world. Cuba isnt as high up as Norway, but higher standards of living than the US, the wolrd's 'richest' country. This is due to their successful socialized health care system and welfare services, resembling the systems of European countries.
Also, about the oil. The Government Pension Fund of Norway (Oljefondet) will always be there. The Norw. Govt spends only the interest accrued (renter) on the annual National Budget. Oljefondet is capital that is just there, constantly growing regardless of oil production.

Its illegal but noone cares, oslo is known as the heroin capital of europe. Do you really think laws matter? Guns are practically banned in russia, theres 4 times more homicides there than in the US. Laws on objects like guns or drugs doesnt do anything. Its the will to use it that does the difference.
