When I was a kid, I had an 8-track tape of 'Little Criminals'. I played that thing until it broke and then I went and got the record. Randy Newman is a genius, imo and while I can't say that I try in the least to copy him, that's a huge compliment. I'm glad you enjoyed. Now I'm craving crawfish. Hmm.....
