Glad she discovered The Kick Inside as a child. She wouldn't sound THAT good without practice. I adore her voice. ANd yeah, this is my fav version of this song :) Although I'm a devoted KT fan.
She's the only person I can think of with the voice range to cover Kate. That being said, NOBODY does Kate better than Kate. I can't imagine Kate covering "Feed the Fire" either... :)

"Big star" *laugh* She did a mini-tour in 2003 and asked for venues to play. A few people offered their homes. The house concerts were much better attended than the regular venues. In at least on city there were only 6 people at the regular venue.
wow! would she be considered a 'big star' now? she's amazing. Yep, love it... I saw this a couple of years ago - glad you still have it up here. I came to find this video because I wanted to post it on facebook. I said on FB "want a record contract?... you have to be able to do this in someone's house" :-D
Thanks! Ooh Bauhaus...my sis was/is (she passed away; don't know what word to use here) a big fan of them. I've only heard a couple songs, they seem really good. I'll check them out when I get the chance.
Oh I know of them as well. I wonder if my parents have her albums packed anywhere...I was always worried about borrowing them when she was alive (didn't want to lose them XD). Maybe I should dig through them now.
haha, very cool. I have all there stuff but sadly nothing on vinyl. Trying to think of someone you might not have heard of.. ok, lately i've been listening to this russian-japanese chick, Origa. pretty good stuff. She sang on the soundtracks of some animes and whatnot. She works with a composer named Yoko Kannon (i think that's how it's spelled.) Anyway, they both have stuff on youtube.
AlmightyButter, I was just thinking; since you seem to already listen to a lot of the music I do, maybe YOU should be giving ME some advise on what to listen to =D
XDD I am so sorry. I hope it doesn't seem like I'm slagging everything off. I was originally asking about Happy Rhodes's music because I recently found out about her and got addicted but I like hearing about other artists as well. I've never heard of Origa, so you've found something new for me. XD I listen to all kinds of music because my family has very diverse tastes. My dad is obsessed with Bob Dylan and a lot of classic rock and my sis listened to a lot of 80's and alternative.
haha, no no not at all. I wasn't trying to sound snobby or anything like that. Honestly, I am kinda "out of the loop" and haven't really heard many new bands lately. I really did want to know what else you listen to because i like listening to lots of different music as well. I'll check out scarling, never heard of them before :)
I didn't think you were snobby at all! I was just worried about me being the one coming off as snobby. I tend to get paranoid about stupid stuff like that.
i don't think you sound snobby at all. I get what you are saying though, i sometimes get paranoid about stuff like that too. The internet is great because you can find other people with the same interests as you but it can be frustrating (can't think of a better word) sometimes only having text to express yourself.
By the way I checked out Scarling and they are awesome!
Oh and for a band recommendation, I think Scarling is cool. I was obsessed with them for a while (I go through phases XD). I don't know if I'm the best person to get advice from though. I won't deny that there's some mainstream stuff that I think is nice. Like I said, I'll listen to anything as long as it doesn't suck.
Hello, I'm 15 years old and a Kate Bush fan. I found out about Happy Rhodes a little while ago and I think she has a really good voice. Her music is really addicting. I only have her Warpaint album and couple mp3s but I have yet to get tired of them. :) This is a really good cover of one of my favorite Kate Bush songs. Thank you for posting this; it's nice to know what she's like live.
I hope you (or Happy) don't mind someone so young writing you, BTW.
Having seen KT 3 times live i didnt think any one could cover one of her songs so well . Well done, great voice. nice to see how so many people have been so inspired by her. LOL
it's funny how the singers I like end up liking the same songs I did or do. Kate Bush' Hounds of Love was the crown of my cassette collection in the 80's.
What an incredible voice and rendition of that song! Easily on a par with Kate! Not only have you captured the voice, but the soul and grace of Kate! IS Kate aware of you? Paul Forrest Dayglo Pirates, Jethro Tull tribute band.
I am a huge, and I mean huge Kate Bush fan, to the silly point of thinking it is almost blaspemous for anyone to sing her songs, but this was very good, done in the spirit of the song, thank you for posting
I just found the other version - but this is the one I listen to in one of my Happy mp3 playlists so regularly I never imagined I would see the event as well. Love the lights, love the song, love the artist, love your work Vickie.
Incredible voice, beautiful cover of one of my prefer song of Kate.
Thank you very much ! :-)

Hello,
Great house party, your voice is a ringer for K Bush...good darts! Guitar..the song is piano based but you have done great - Bushmills.
