  • Nice work! So few people actually understand how completing the square really works--even the Khan Academy guy doesn't show this fabulous representation of the process.

  • @emfyates Thanks !! Khan Academy = Math the same way with more explanation. This lets you see the rules for yourself. If taught correctly the student can discover the rules and make up their own formulas (which turn out to be the formulas in text books) but instead of memorizing a formula they understand the concepts. Much more powerful.

  • Great video! I'm a K-12 math consultant, who used to be a high school math teacher who always taught it...and thought about it..symbolically. I have been using this visual method for a while, but you gave me two ideas that I had not thought about...actually seeing the value of x in the square at right...and extending it to the h-k form of a parabola. I'll check out some of your other things! Elaine Watson
