to muddy the waters further - I have this version on a Various artists compilation album and they edited out one verse.I assumed it was the single version but wasn't sure.Has it ever been on an official CD?

This IS NOT the demo version! It's the 45rpm single version. I actually have a copy on vinyl still in the original Phonogram packet.

Im certain this was released as the single - 7" - the album version is not as punchy!
