  • i own the 45

  • Single version

  • hm imo the solo's are the same. but still nice upload

  • @Zabuza187 Well, then listen again, the solos are not 100 % the same as the original :)

  • can we get tabs anywhere for this?

  • 3 people didnt have ears for the good music or they have eartappers in that moment...

  • to muddy the waters further - I have this version on a Various artists compilation album and they edited out one verse.I assumed it was the single version but wasn't sure.Has it ever been on an official CD?

  • My favorit version:)

  • This IS NOT the demo version! It's the 45rpm single version. I actually have a copy on vinyl still in the original Phonogram packet.

  • @dangerousandy Well, it's not the same as the version on the CD so it must be alternative compared to that one ? ;)

  • @dangerousandy Yep I can definitely confirm that.I've got it too,a better version than the one on the album IMHO.

  • @dangerousandy used to own the 45...genius!!

  • I think its the DEMO version made before the first Album!

    Nice!

  • Im certain this was released as the single - 7" - the album version is not as punchy!

I have about 4 7" vinyls still in their plastic wrapping (never been opened and not likely to either !

  • 2 people missed the like button...

    So amazing song

  • A local radio channel used to play this version and I've not heard it since this was a hit. I've got the Mark Knopfler Chet Atkins cassette and it still plays.

  • more raw than the original demo one i never heard about this version...amazing!

  • this is the live version

  • Speed it up a bit, add a longer instrumental section, and it sounds just like the concert version, particularly the one from Live Aid.

  • questa canzone è meravigliosa in tutte le sue versioni!!!

  • Brilliant.!....This is how it was born!....Pick Withers.....David Knopfler...John Illsley....and of course MK.....thanks to Charlie Gillett for playing it on the radio in 1977.....the rest is history!!

  • Very Rare !! Thanks

  • you are a song killer!!

  • For Knopfler fans - If you can get your hands on it, he did a great PBS special a few years ago with Chet Atkins. Two great guitarists...

  • wow, VERY different to the original, but not bad :)

  • Fantastica.....

  • Wow! Thank you!

    That's awesome! :D

Would you mind telling us where did you got this version from?

  • it's the 1977 demo i think... i've heard it before

  • Thank you for the info!!

  • both versions are good

  • Where did you find this?

Merci.

  • I want to hear the original version that was probably never recorded.

  • WoW!

  • Leksingen, thanks again, great great. For the picture collection too!!!!

  • What a outstanding version !!!! Where do you get this stuff !!!??? Great, thanks a lot !!!!

  • Where is that very first picture from?

    This version is awesome!!

  • It is better than the original one :)

  • yeah, they were the sultans of Rock. the best band of the 70`s and 80`s

  • @johnsilverlargo I do believe that they're the Sultans of SWING actually... ;)

  • @johnsilverlargo why 70s and 80s? there are no good songs now..only rap and pop :(

  • incredibly nice, isn't it !
