Roland SP-404 Demo

A little confused, does this come with sound effects? What can I hook this up too? I have 2 Numark NDX400's and a Numark M3 Mixer, with a powered speaker. I am thinking about buying Ultimate DJ Sound Effects Volume 1 "MKV", how can I import the sound effects to this device? Please respond detailed, thanks very much! this isnt really a demo, you just let people hear the samples you used and showed yourself making the beat.

anyone im from the UK i wana sampler soon cuz i gig alot and playin the synth singin an guitar can be a hassle haha, im also employed to write and record and i need a decent drum sampler, anyone know just how complex i can get the drums to sample? or wud the extra 150 pound for a korg emx be worth it? cheers

@ibanezjack a korg EMX is not a sampler - its a music production station (synth & drum) I have one :). The sampler version is the ESX

Hey man... whats up did you do the choppin of the sample on the sp-404 it self.. or another program... Would you be able to make a video showing how to sample into the machine. also the choppin part if you did that on the 404... One more thing... How do you/or can you upload new drum kits/hit sounds to the sp-404/ Is it memory card/SD card? or just internal memory get back to me thanks man

i dont know much about the 404 and i've heard its easy to do with it but it should still be easier to just do that with software then load them to the 404. doing the slicing on the computer should also make it easier to keep all your chops organized to use in different projects, that is unless you want to use a bunch of flash cards. you should be able to find a video on here that runs through the process. if not just read through the user guide

1. Did you do all the chopping with the SP-404 or did you use software?

2. If the SP-404, could you make a demonstration video? If software, what kind?

what kind of cables are those that you have plugged into your sampler? i need to know what kind of cables i need to run out of my sampler. if anyone can help. with a link or even just the name of the type of cables that would help and i'd really appreciate it, thanks!

Just get a decent set of RCA cables. Cheap ones tend to affect the sound quality.
