  • the fact that hes using a round to shade with tell me this guy obviously learned to tattoo in the joint.

  • Talking about cross contamination and he uses a speed stick to put on a special -.- , and he's scratching

  • Mistake #1: Using an 8 coil to SHADE.

Mistake #2: Using the fleshtones without gradient to color.

Mistake #3: Not keeping your hand at a constant length from the skin resulting in blowouts.

Mistake #4: Thinking you know what you're doing enough to teach someone else when you belong on doingitwrong

  • damn way to deep homie

  • yea hes shaky n yea some folks thnk its rough, but wat really matters is when its healing..tadaaa!

  • @gravityTattdrumr11 Patchy and blown out, what everyone wants!

  • dude ur hands are shaking way to much..

  • omg when i saw the red at first i thought it was all blood

  • i been tattooing for a few years now , and beleive me . this gut is rough no flow in his work

  • Comment removed

  • does the filling hurt?

  • @oprah297 maybe a little bit more than a outline, depending on how big the area being filled the artist will use a needle with 3-5 smaller needles on the tip where as a outline needle is usually 1 2 smaller needles on the tip compared to the size of the filler needle tip....but then again it all depends on your pain threshold

  • are you using a rotary machine? cause it doesn't sound like a normal machine. just wondering?

  • @yvonnev1122 Sure is.

  • Hey its always good to share what you know, helps with making any corrections when somebody else notices that your doing something wrong, so there's no reason to bash somebody's mistakes. So thanks for the video and thanks to all the comments that where left at least i left this page learning something.

  • your chair isn't even prepped for minimization of cross contamination and you're tattooing in an area where there is carpet... that is a BIG NO NO!!! What happens when blood or other bodily fluid hit the ground? Are you going to just vacuum it out? I DON'T THINK SO. oh and this is in regard to your other video, you don't EVER use Vaseline, it's not good. Try A & D ointment. Also if you're going to shade and color a small area like that you're best bet is to use a 7Mag. It'll work better!

  • that outline is a little uneven?

  • Hey Jackass, oops Jackytats, we all have our own technique, the tat looks really good. so if you did not like it why the hell not just go watch another vid.

  • LOL " with any luck it'll show here"

  • Is that deoderant!? dam son you suck.

  • You are supposed to go from dark colors to light colors so you don't get darker colors into the exposed light color areas, basic tattooing. PS that outline looks like shit. You should learn how to tattoo before you tattoo anyone else and definitely before you do a teaching video about it. What I see your doing a teaching vid on what not to do right?

  • geeeeeeze those are some clean lines hahahhahah wow bro terrible. personally i would never start with white but thats just me....... and every other tattoo artist in the world.

  • im sorry but i may be new to the industry...but thats a horrible outline! i do smoother lines than that! and yeah a 8 loose to color, thats gotta take some time to fill...and light to dark, thats nonsense! after applying light colors, when you work w darks and start wiping off excess ink, that excess ink may get into the freshly laid light ink...causing a slight color change. but who am i to say, cause im still learning lots, and yeah you learn alot from watching in person than videos do

  • this is ridiculous, shading DARK TO LIGHT never light to dark

  • I Just Started Tattooing Like A Week Ago And I Did Two Outline Already And They Dont Look Like That, BlahhhhH!!! Plus Why Would U Start With White, I Even Know That U Dont Do That And I Dont Know Shit Yet!! Aha

  • If I use a one time needles, have i use a new needle for every new color in the tattoo?

  • @supermetalgtr Yeah Man You Shoud. I Do Just So I Know It's Safe & Doesn't Mix Colors,,

  • i thought light colors come first!?!?

  • You mention cross contamination in your vids but all you bottles are not covered properly with plastic wrapping .

  • how do you get the ink to come off so easy

  • when youre coloring in, do you shove the whole needle in the skin? or is half of the needle showing and half of it in?

  • @djsabe7 You work with the very tip of the needle

  • @brianaf9 oooooooooooooooooooooohh okay thanks! do you tattoo?

  • @djsabe7 No, but my whole family and fiancees family does as well and im learning (: , also, in the video for beginning tattooing tips: how to outline a tattoo, he says that you work with the very tip of the needle. Hope that helps (:

  • @brianaf9 ohhhh thats cool (: well goodluck with tattooing!

  • @brianaf9 and thanks for the tip!

  • I think it would have been a better idea to place white last because ur contaminating the white with red... idk what you think? By the way it sounds like you have a motor case machine hows that working out for you? I have one I think its better than my 8 wraps.

  • Hatching Action! Lmao

  • Your coloring technique might work for you but it's not the way to teach someone. If a new tattooer tried doing what you have going on there they would slice a person into chop meat.

  • help alot

  • all i know is this guy is using the wrong size needle for filling inthe colors... dats wayyyy too small looooool.

  • constructive criticism is right so here is sum u shouldnt be learning to tattoo from youtube yes sum vids are helpful but only to a point unless u see the tattoo in person u will not learn how to lay ink in with out traumatizing skin. videos are only good as advise not 2 be used after buying a kit off line because u want 2 mess around and tattoo friends. learn the right way. bug & bug & bug a real artist till they see ur seriously wanting 2 learn

  • ok so ok first ok you want to put some ink ok on ur needle ok so you have ink ok cuz you need ink ok to put ink in the skin ok then you tattoo ink ok into the skin ok in circular motions ok real tight circles ok ok ok ok ok ok then you wipe ink away ok then ok you ok out ok the ok ink ok wit ok a ok rag ok ok ok WHAT THE F*&K

  • im curous as to how the ink is so far up that tube but either way he does a good job and explains things well enough.

  • the bashers on here can suck it. "selling out" the industry? if you are THAT worried about someone being better than you, i suggest you fine tune your skills. survival of the fittest. there are thousands of wannabe tattooers and only a handful of REAL skilled artists. come on, you can share a LITTLE but i'm TELLING you, most that see this won't have a damn clue what's going on.

  • 90% of people on youtube curse expertvillage....they totally sucks

  • DUDE, quit your TATTOO career...

i'm just a beginner tattoo artist and your doing the Wrong Way!

i fill in Colors faster than you do...

  • WOW. ill be honest, i know shit all about tattooing but i love the design styles and find the good work really inspiring. What i can't understand, or didn't realise is how unconstructively critical and unsupportive the majority of the community can be!! Can someone please link me an example of what you think is proper practise and really good design. It'd be much appreciated as im fascinated with the medium, thanks!

  • This is a dis-grace to the community

Teaching Improper practices and taking the work away from licenced venues, and implying it is OK to work from home.

Shame on you for slutting out the industry so you can make a quick buck.

  • this dude should be beaten to dead with his own machines .that he put that crap on his stupid ass friends i can understand !!!

but lessons !! a good tattoo starts with knowing your tools !!

thats where you start ! learn how the machines work ,, a painter needs different brushes and pigments ,and tattooing is the same !!!without that you never learn how to

  • To the artists credit, I've seen worse prison tattoo's, but not many.

  • Ho... So nice da tattoo!!! U guud...

  • this is youtube not tv stop w. the commercials! sheesh!

  • The tattoo IS NOT garbage :/ there are lots of methods to tattooing :/ im not even someones apprentice and i know this :/ come on guys instead of calling it shit or anything like that at least take into consideration on the fact not all methods are the same, you could go to every tattoo shop in the country and be apprentices too all the artists and theyll all teach you different things, to me this guy did a pretty awsome job!

  • this tattoo looks like shit!

  • HOLY CRAP!!! a "ROUGH" outline? you call that an outline? holy blowouts batman!!! you should really know how to tattoo before you try to teach anyone to tattoo!! you NEVER start with white!!! white is the LAST color! and who the hell uses an 8 round on anything bigger than a quarter?

  • @jackytats You are absolutely right. You never start with white. Its Darker colors to lighter colors. In painting you start with light and work to dark. I usually dont like to put people down but I think that he needs to work on his outlining and learn the proper way of tattooing color before going on here tryin to teach. This video will only confuse anyone that is actually tryin to learn from it.

  • @jackytats ritttteeeeeeeeeee

  • @jackytats I thought the outline looked nice.

  • @jackytats its cuz hes is very shaky<, so the tht line is thicker not all scratchy but he is very shaky hahaha, still looks very rough like u say tho, them expert village people r good artists but EXPERT??

  • WOW!,,,,,That outline is absolute GARBAGE!,,,,and light to dark?,,,,REALLY?,,,,starting to color with white?,,,what the hell?,,,,i dont know if he intentionally wants his white to be muddy and pink, but thats whats gonna happen when you start with white and then lay down red afterwords.

  • Everyone has a different method of tattooing. Just because someone was taught one way doesn't mean there's only that one way. Everyone has to start somewhere and as long as your being safe and do your research veterans should pull their heads out there's ass and actually help instead of just putting them down. Give pointers instead of burning them for not knowing. Hell since your such an expert why do you apprentice them unless you just like to talk shit to people on the Internet because you do

  • @Namrepus169 THANK YOU, I have been saying this for years now. And the veterans will not apprentice anymore, it had become just another way to make a buck, the only apprenticeship i can find in Columbus Ohio costs 2500.00 dollars, And I have had several artists i know in other states check them out, and was told to avoid this shop, They are scratchers.

  • @Namrepus169 i agree...questions makes perfection>

  • why would u use an 8round on a piece that size, instead of mag like a 7or8 mag an whip it to make corners?

  • seems like the moment these haters get on to youtube, they become professional tattoo artists.

I'd like to see some of these people do better than this guy ^^.

Fair enough, some of these people here may have been tattooing longer, but how the hell are younger people supposed to learn when they get shut down and abused by every other stuck up tattooist?

This guy isn't as bad as you all make him out to be, and even so, you've gotta start somewhere right?

  • Really? i have one word for that...................... apprentice. nothing in this industry is just given. each part of it has to be earned. you gotta pay your dues to get to where you want to be. just because one shop turns you down isn't a reason to stop trying to get in somewhere. if you really wat to get to know real artist get tattooed by them. most of us will not hire people we dont know or have reason to trust.

  • @sharmelleconnell This guy isnt bad, I've seen worse. With that being said I wouldnt let him tattoo me. The outline is terrible and his coloring technique is wrong. If people really want to learn, there's instruction videos on the market that will teach you the right way. Do not think you're learning anything from this "professional".

  • light to dark?

i dont think thats right.... just ask tom spaulding or josh carlton or how bout mike devries.... dont listen to this guy

  • @MissBreannaa Light to Dark if you're painting a picture. For tattooing its dark colors to light colors. White is last. He should work on his outlining first before trying to teach the wrong way of applying color.

  • look at that top most line around the head lol, wonder wut the tattoo looks like RIGHT now

  • what are good needles to add color and color shading

  • 2:23....didnt you say one smoothstroke with your linework?

looks like he took a hammer to the dome.

  • 2:23 run rught up to the black and try to cover that awesome linework...........

  • boobs

  • Ive been tatooing for 25 years and the pores swell a little, some drink a little ,all skin is different .I never stop learning so lets poke some canvas.barnettink.

  • Ive been tatooing for 25 years and the pores swell a little, some drink a little ,all skin is different .I never stop learning so lets poke some canvas.barnew

  • nice blowouts

  • I didn't bleed much during my tattoos but I bled mostly after. But everyone is different so every experience will be different.

  • hahahha,, now not only the tattoo guy is shaking with his hands but also the camera guy... xp

  • Ok, I have been a medic for just about 7years and I have been tattooing for 1yr... Blood constancy is different from one person to another as well as skin tautness... So, one may be a bleeder as to another may not... So, know your client (patient) they are not the same as everyone else... So, his technique that he is using maybe wrong for this person...

  • hes crying at 1:57 haha and bleeding omg

  • 2:45 looks like a cock

  • artyart510 thats called a blowout, your going to deep, GET A FUCKING APPRENTICESHIP AND STOP HACKING!!!!!!.........

  • What, your brain had a blow out! WoW you should see a Doctor about that...

  • why when i put ink in stillit tends to blot under skin ? doesnt happen always but it does happen offten!! help me plz and yes i work wit tip of needle but i see videos were people shoving the shit out of needle in skin and it dont skin

  • @artyart510 I would help you, if I could understand what you're saying. Hahaha.

  • need help can one tell me why at times ink blots under skin ?!! but other rtimes it dont???? i set need le depth were i barely work wit tip of needle.. so wat am i doi n wrong?

  • I USE WHITE TO HIGHLIGHT ...... THIS LOOKS LIKE THE SUPERIOR TATTOO VIDEOS FROM THE 1980'S BUT HELPFUL FOR PPL THAT DON'T KNOW NOTHING.... BUT COME ON PPL DON'T INSULT THE GUY...HES DOING HIS BEST...

  • lol hella bleedin

  • Thanks for taking the time to explain.

  • Is it true that it hurts more to get a tattoo colored in than to get it outlined?

  • @RodneyBernett2O11 my outline hurted more..the coloring wasnt shit.

  • @RodneyBernett2O11 very true ... not an artist nor very smart but thats just how it is hahaha

  • Every man and his dildo is an expert, particularly in the Tattoo scene. Uploads like this are what they are: personal opinions, like this, like all of us fuckers. It's okay to have some advice to share - I mean, if a professional is not acting that way in any business, bring out the slice 'n dice method...but if we're just saying: "Oh, why the fuck does he want to color in a bear in the first place?" That's counter-productive. This guys only presenting his technique; seems genuine to me.

  • Is the antiperspirant stick part of your tattoo materials? What's it's purpose?

  • @wafartamo it keeps the stencil on after it's been applied

  • @wafartamo HELPS THE STENCIL ADHERE TO SKIN WHERE WATER MAKES IT SMEAR

  • okay, this guy isent the best, but he's taking time to show you guys the basics, this stuff is useful for beginners, its hard to explain and concentrate at the same time, get a grip and watch the fucking video, if you wana see amazing tattoo's then youtube miami ink or something, not begineer videos and take the piss, fucking idiots.

  • i've only been tattooing for 37 years now so i'm kinda new at this, but i've found that when you poke holes in someones skin it tends to bleed. if you actually believe what you see on miami & la ink then you should be mowing lawns for a living. those shows are scripted! of course they're not gonna show people bleeding. it would keep a lot of people from getting tattooed that are already scared.

  • @inker55 whats wrong with mowing lawns for a living its better than stealing or selling drugs , i own my landscaping company and i own 2 corvettes a house all from mowing lawns so watch what you say cuz people like will disect your words and call you out on it

  • @inker55 umm apart from the fact that some people dont bleed at all .... my dad is one of them ... he didnt bleed at all neither did my mum

  • i have tatoo machine but i don't have any tatoo :) i tatoo myself with permenent make up machine

  • "rough outline" is an understatement. dig the vitawater and unbagged green soap squeeze bottle.

  • we've got ourselves a bleeder.

  • If you start out with white: USE DISPOSABLE TUBES or just THE TIPS!

WHY? Because the rubbing of the needles inside any common tip will leave it's small stains which easily mix up with the white and hook you up w/a kinda light/grey, dirty tone. FACT!

This problem is NEVER the case with disposable tips.

JUST A TIP I WANT TO SHARE OUT OF EXPERIENCE..

Try it out, be honest, and you will be glad I took the time to share this 'lil bit 'o knowledge with ya.

    Lemme know...

  • @vonlucky

i learned the hard way also.... the white really does leave your work looking dirty

    =/

  • @vonlucky The small stains get left inside the tip of any tube, disposable or not. You always start with light colors and work your way to dark. If you know how to clean the tips and how to tune your machine, then it isn't an issue. I too speak from experience. I'll trust my experience, thanks.

  • @smshdspdr lol and the people that are saying he is doing it wrong are only trolls who are following other trolls that they saw say he is doing it wrong. People have to be assholes online because thats the only place where they can be. They know that out in the real world somebody would have busted them in their jaw for being disrespectful. Hiding behind anonymity like true bitches smh.

  • This guy is the best instructor ever! Everything you can learn is right in front of you. Just take this whole video and replace "how to" with "How not to"

    What a fucking retard!

  • WHY YOU PAINTED THE OUTSIDE OF THE EYE GREEN? ISN"T IT WHITE? I THINK YOU NEED MORE PRACTICE THERE EINSTEIN. THEN TEACH THE MASSES.

  • Dude, I like the fact that you work clean and are

    very concious of cross contamination.

Lose the speed stick deodorant MORON.

    THATS CROSS CONTAMINATION.

Think about it. I know your not using it for your

    ARMPITS! right buttmunch.

  • nice drink on the work station. what a hack

  • Your the fucking retard, of course you go from light to dark dipshit. you can't go from dark to light, but you can always go darker....god i'd hate for you to ever fuck someone up.

  • just watch miami ink and youlll see the best, fuck gay village

  • dude ur a fuckin joke

  • this guy is not smart nor a professional.....i tattoo own and operate a custom only shop with great artists all of us with different methods none of us tattoo light to dark ....dumb ass mofo check me out if u r questioning me lifelite666@yahoo.com on myspace or facebook this guy is a retard and if u listen to him u are equally retarded

  • who is holding the camera? lol

  • It's funny to me how people who have never done a tattoo in their entire lives are saying that this guy is doing it wrong. lol people are funny smh

  • the way i see it you right And wrong the white in my opinion should be last. BUT....other light colors should be done before the darker colors especially if your trying to fade colors together...think about it.... you can fade dark into light, but you can't fade light into dark

  • Putin le sang !! il passe même pas de vaseline sur la peau avant . sa allait eviter d'avoir autant de saignement !

  • and dude, srry but the blood sudent come out, you r going to deep

  • sorry dude, but the white gos last

  • If you tattoo out of your house you should be killed then you cold dead body fucked until your dead again

  • every tattooist has there own way of tattooing and if they did it wrong it's not our name that people remember as a dumnass it's his name. back in malaysia we help each other if i do it wrong i'll ask or if im dont know i question whats wrong with that? he try to make a living just like all the tattoo artist around the world. dont believe ? go to FB check it out your own self. we help not judge

  • Wether one agrees with the tutor or not is there any need for this bad vibe on this site? Come on now, this guy is just trying to help us all. You dont have to agree with him but there is no need for such bad blood. I personally would like to thank the maker of this vid for taking the time and effort to make this vid and sharing his knowledge. As with all things in life we take what we want out of it and we dont have to bad mouth the things we dont want or agree with. Peace to all.

  • And if your starting out, Fuck pigskin! You have your entire body as a canvas don't be a pussy! besides you should know what your doing to other people feels like!

  • If you approach your tattooing with a more painterly quality starting from light shades ( not white, leave that for last) say with something like a roan you can lay the the first level of shading light and as you work the piece you can define the darker areas as needed( you can go darker but you cant go lighter!), but this technique is highly dependent on your art background ( i.e. if your a pen & ink artist your not going to make a tattoo that looks like a painting)

  • @colton11165 if you listen to him talk about his grouping and if u know anything about your grouping looks you can tell its a 8 round tight thats a good way to fuck sombody up

  • why would be retarded enough to fill in that big of a area with a fucking liner nimrod try a shader group you know they make those right

  • @lilbuss its probably a round shader, you know they make those right?

  • how much would a tatt this siza with colour cost?

  • @39acu 956 000$ i would say

  • you suck at life. stop tattooing

  • good video but u really need to learn how to put your videos in order more properly thus making it much more easier to follow to the next scene

  • i wounder if this guy has ever heard of a magnum's for shading, 5's & 7's work great for coloring larger area's, they lay the ink in faster and with less travel time in the same area. also 14 & 18 round shaders work great in smaller areas with less time on the skin. going over and over the same place causes the skin to become like hamburger, and causes more scabbing and scaring. scabs tend to pull the ink out with them when they fall off! less scabbing is more! sink the ink with less motion!

  • dont know where this guy got his info, but you always go from dark to light colors so you dont muddy up the light colors with the darker inks! also in lining, you always start at the bottom of the stencil. and any time you come to a line that ends with a point, dont not start at the point. start at the opposite end of the line and when you get to the point pull off the skin in a light whipping motion so your point is sharp, starting at the point leaves a dot at the point! not a good practice!

  • I hope this guy didn't pay for that tattoo.

  • LOL at the outline , holy shit

dude probably couldnt deal with the pressure of getting judged on youtube and failed for that exact reason, i feel sorry for him man

  • I was interested in getting a tattoo my father has when he was in the Army in Korea. The thing is, how do I know a tattoo artist is any good? Other than word of mouth, how do you find excellent tat artists?

  • everyone should just hop off his nut sack everyone has their own opinion on tats so just stfu and keep ur thoughts to urself, otherwise just make ur own damn videos so ppl can start critisizng u back and see how u like. his outlne is fine and if he wants to do lights first then fuckin let him do so got damn

  • yeah...that is a rough outline.....

  • this guy suxs !! i seen better tats at a fricken fair lmao !!

  • what size needle did you use for the outline
