  • is that a stock ford?

  • "My tach's a little slow, they don't work"

No, yours doesn't work. But its a perfect match, because judging by how you rev a cold diesel, you're a little slow as well.

  • FUCK GODDAMN PIECE OF SHIT CUMMINS

  • I love seeing people beat the fuck out of these idi"s. it just makes my day

  • why dont you replace the tach ometer

  • Dude is a genius ...

  • at 10 degrease mine fires at about the 5 th spin yours is a peace of shit

  • hahha 29 degrees is not very cold try starting at 21 below here in idaho

  • @SchuCrew69 Try starting at 50-70 below in North Dakota lol

  • i wish i had enough money to fill mine up to 3/4 tank, and my tach doesn't fuckin work either. neither does my ignition, gotta use a pair of pliers to start her up lol

  • i wish i had enough money to fill mine up to 3/4 tank

  • its not a powerstroke its a idi idiots!!!

  • let off the gas shes clod man

  • another american idiot is destroying his engine

  • @qaszxc12345

Hey don't shit about Powerstrokes. Why are you even watching videos about Ford Diesels if you hate them.

  • @HeXx49

What year do you want first off?

  • im thinking about getting a F350 dully 5 speed, can some one tell me what some tell me stuff about these trucks before i make a desition

  • @HeXx49 Get a cummins not a powerjoke

  • My tach takes a few seconds to start working in my 93 idi f250. normal i guess?

  • Do you like to starve your engine of oil while you rev it when its cold!

  • hey i dont no why u have a cummins sign on there cus that ant no cummins

  • Their my fave trucks!!!!! gotta love ur ford diesel :D

  • My tac does the same thing on my 1990 7.3

  • why the fuck do you have a cummins C under the f 350 logo on the driver side!?!?

  • i wouldnt go gooseing the truck until its warm you might end up cracking somthing from to much heat to fast

  • yours doesnt have the plug under the hood to keep it warm in the winter?

  • @melvinwi24 yeah, it was hangin out the grill

  • shes a beast.

  • the tac on my buds '90 f30 works sometimes. looks nice.

  • whoa your tach is fuc*ed

  • hey i gotta ask

whys it gotta a cummins badge on it?

  • Nice truck. These IDI's hate the cold though.

  • how did you get it to black smoke

  • what is the light on the dash that's on in the end of the video?

  • ya realy

  • Let it heat up first bud....

  • a 7.3 diesel that only has 85 mph for its top speed damm that is slow my maruti 800 could out run that

  • These trucks are not made for doing stupid things with them. There made for hauling and towing so that's why there very low geared, mine only gets to 75mph.

  • Heh, wish I could do that. Have a C6 and 4.10 ratio in mine. Fastest I dare cruise is about 62 MPH at ~2800RPM. Fastest I have taken is about 65.

  • C6 and only 62 MPH @2800 RPM damn, i'm not sure about the ratio in our Motorhome but it's an 1987 E350 with a 6.9 Diesel with C6 and it has the same top speed as my 5 speed truck ~75MPH.

  • that is so true.

  • yeah and i bet this truck would pull your truck up a steep hill with ease, these trucks aint built to race guy.

  • yeah keep revvin it while its cold and find out what happens

  • I would guess about 5 glow plugs not working

  • I've got 79 ford tow truck with a 7.3 in it and it won't even think about starting unless its plugged it or give it a sniff and it'll think about it

  • Awesome a 79 with a 7.3 diesel, not the original engine though but still Awesome :D

  • hehe Yeah I'm pretty sure the old one blew up so we had the 7.3 sitting out in the junkyard, put it in, completely re-done the body put some Bowles Garage logos on it and it's just like new:P Thanks for the compliment!

  • you can blow up an idi. I was helping a friend start his and he insisted on using ether so we did. It started but when we took off you couldnt see anything behind us for the coolant smoke. It cracked the #1 cylinder wall from top to bottom. We sleeved it and rebuilt it and no he doesnt use ether. Fixed the glow plug system instead.

  • yeah but diesels have that low end grunt gas engines dont, they sound cooler, size for size they are more efficent, pollute less, and they last alot longer and not to mention they hold there value alot longer. Real trucks dont need spark plugs bud

  • what in the HELL are you revving a cold diesel for?

  • why do you care? i wouldnt do it either but if he wants to tear the shit out of his own stuff, let him.

  • i want to blow it up hahaaha put a cummins in it

  • that would explain why you have a cummins badge on it

  • omg 7.3 L .....

How much fuel it uses for 100km?30-40liters?

  • Why do you have a Cummins sticker on the side of the truck if it has a 7.3 Powerstroke?

  • gives it class

  • oh, I see.

  • To bad the old buzzer doesn't work

  • If I were you, I would check the glow plugs out - that wasn't a very good start compared with other Ford trucks with 7.3's at the same temp.

It sounds good once it's warmed up, though. Those International Harvesters are good engines.

  • i replance all glow plugs now... she starts fine

  • look at 0:07 that truck has a cummins?

  • it is a pwer strke

  • it is not a power stroke it is a n/a 7.3

  • its not a powerstroke, its a 7.3 non turbo navistar, trust me i have one

  • weird i had a 7.3 wihtout turbo, and truck had powerstroke on side of it. ( i bought the truck new)

  • what year?

  • 1990

  • powerstroke didn't even come out until 1994 :S

  • yeah but it's an IDI i have one and i keep hearing it's almost impossible to kill them.

  • Powerstroke=International.... International=Powerstroke...

  • uhhh no buddy, you ever heard of a 6.9L powerstroke... didn't think so. the powerstroke was a completely different engine than the 7.3 IDI. It was just a coincidence that they were the same displacement.

  • yes the 7.3 idi wasnt a powerstroke the 7.3 with directinjection was because of the electronic injectors so idi 7.3's are just international engines put in fords but are un touchable i saw a guy run it for 4 hours with no oil because the oil bung fell out and it kept chuggin along because of the diesel leaking around the cylinder walls lubricating it so to me a 7.3 is a hell of truck motor

  • truck was 91 dually ( crew cab) i bought the truck as a bit of a hodgepodge lol so the pstroke decal may have been added. but it was DEFINATELY non turbo

  • too bad they don't still make those trucks. damn good work trucks man.

  • gotta love those failing analog gauges...be happy you're not working with a digital dash and power supply that doesn't work no matter how much you resolder the fuckin' contacts.

  • You're supposed to hold the accelerator in half way on cold morning starts, it'll fire quicker. oh ya, you've got a lifter stuck

  • LOL "oh ya, you've got a lifter stuck"

  • its a 7.3, not a cummins right? i mean, the video, and the guy at the start says so, and that does sound like an old, non turbo, 7.3,

  • Cummins power?

  • what where u doing outside on christmas day? should of been inside having hot coco and cookies and sitting next to the tree with family.

  • Good video!

  • The TIV uses this engine . Once it failed to start , they had to push start it

  • y is there a cummins symbol on it

  • i dont know just had it laying around

  • when its cold outside you should do the glow plugs 2 times before starting it

  • i got new plugs in it now it fires up on a half a crank

  • Hey really one of the best cold-starting videos. Thanks for uploading!

  • thanks

  • You yanks love buring up all the fuel don't you! I bet you wouldn't have such big engines if you had to pay £1.35 pounds for one litre! But i guess that is just the UK government f**Kin us all over

  • Wow. I just did the calculations, and that's $10.80/gallon! We pay less than half that in Connecticut. By the way, we aren't the only ones with big engines. You guys have so many impractical sports cars and supercars that get worse gas mileage than this truck. At least trucks like this serve a purpose.

  • Why does it have a cummins sticker on it at0.07 seconds. It probably wishes it had a cummins!! HA HA!

  • Was this video with or without the turbo?

  • these 7.3's don't have turbo's

  • true but i put a banks sidewinder on it

  • Oh I know that, but in one of his other clips he added a turbo. The International diesels didn't come turboed but the Powerstroke did.

  • lol, isn't the powerstroke made by international? i think so! lol

  • yeah

  • without the turbo

  • Your tac seems to act similarly to the one in my Camaro. It's an AutoMeter tac - goes up to 6000RPMs, but it does almost the opposite of the one in your Ford. It sits on 1000 (even when the car isn't running) until the engine reaches about 1800 and then performs normally.

  • What fuel economy does a 7.3 IDI get? I'm considering getting an F-Series with one.

  • about 22 stock.. mines not stock haha about 10

  • thanks, steve

  • Why is there a cummins sticker?

  • perhaps a fummins?

  • You can always trust the old 7.3 IDI :D

  • It you want it to last longer, don't fucking rev it when it is cold!!!!!!!! OMG HOW STUPID

  • FUCK OFF

  • steve, everytime I see you start up your truck, it reminds me of dave starting up his. Take good care of that IDI.

  • God I hate fords....no offence..they just have the shittiest looking interiors I've ever seen.

  • none taken... i like when the interior is grey but dodge is a lot better

  • true....but then again I drive an 02 grand Prix gtp, and a 1980 corvette...

  • nice cars

  • hey is that an idi no turbo 7.3 can you tell me the differnce between these and the powerstoke ones besides the turbo

  • yea it is a 7.3 non turbo but it has a Banks sidewinder turbo on it. the powerstroke has electronic injectors idi is the mechanicle system

  • hey thanks man

  • whats with the cummins emblem on the side?

  • looks good... it cam free with the truck... i love dodge and farm and chevy

  • thats ford not farm

  • whats the year of the truck? how many miles on it?

  • 1990 with 20,000 actual miles i found that out on carfax retired fire truck

  • she sounds betther now i got a banks sidewinder turbo on it ... i love the 7.3 powerstrokes..

  • I enjoyed that for some reason. when you opened the passenger door up and gassed it I laughed. I have a 03 7.3 turbo diesel last year they put them in the f250 and changed to the 6.0

  • check out my dads ford coldstart

  • best sounding cold start on youtube awsome

  • Pretty good for a 18 year old truck!

  • Pretty good for a 18 year old truck!

  • is that a van or suv?

  • no it is an extended cab pickup truck

  • u really shouldnt rev cold diesels but nice truck

  • i know it is BAD but i love the sound of it cold

  • hahaha same

  • your rpm gauge have really a problem

  • haha yea i cleaned the sensor now it works fine

  • shes got a banks sidewinder turbo on her now

  • Nice cummins badge;) atleast thats what it looked like under your F350 emblem.

  • love the sound of a big diesel under revs :) it sounds macho :)

  • You have either bad glow plugs, or you are getting air in the fuel system somewhere.

  • plugs

  • why does it need a big 7.3l engine, if it cant even do 100mph? isnt that waste of fuel

  • buy American

  • lol and what type of cars do you like? japanese? lol find one japanes class C truck that can out tow our "big stupid pointless" trucks.

just so you know, these diesel pick ups are meant for something. transportation and hauling shit toyotas and that new honda truck will never be able to tow.

  • Honda "trucks" can haul, but they are limited to babies and groceries.

  • fuck Hondas "trucks".

    American trucks all the way!!!!

  • yea, the Honda trucks werent made for heavy duty work, but Im sure Honda COULD make a good heavy duty truck if they tried. Like Toyota. As for American trucks...LOL, I could care less for them, cause I have heard notorious bad reports about American made trucks.

  • Yeah, the new Tundra doesn't seem bad, plus it's made in Texas. Don't they make Rams and F-Series trucks in Mexico now? And I hear that in '09 Nissan will unveil a diesel version of the Titan.

  • no F-Series ar made in Kansas city or Norfolk, Vriginia what are u thinking ford is and always has been american made

  • And Louisville, KY.

  • ya i forgot that do u have an f150

  • My buddy has a Tundra with a 4.7L V8 and it's getting 14MPG.....

  • the rams as far as i know are only built in mexico

the tundra diesel dually is huge and doesnt plan for production for some time

  • Actually the Super Duty is made in Louisville, KY. It is the biggest auto plant in the U.S.

  • ya you have a sweet truck i really like that year with those rims too. we have a 2002 lariat FX4 we've hadit since it was new and has been awesome

  • Yeh, the 20"s are really nice. Nicest stock rims you can get on a truck in my opinion. What engine do you have in the 2002 lariat?

  • ya i didn't know they were 20's but there still cool but the truck is all stock with a 5.4 triton its acually my dads but i have been looking at a 1994 f150

  • Yep, their 20's. Does the 5.4L have enough power for you?

  • ya it does but we have 3.55 gears and we wish there was 3.73 for better accelration but i'm trying to talk my dad in to buying something like a cold air intake or a programer

  • ya I have the 3.73 Limited Slip and I love them, especially with the diesel.

  • well when he bought it new the only way to get the 3.73 was with some other wheels and he didn't what them so he kept them. but he had 1999 f150 with 3.73 and he siad there is alot of diffrence

  • I've never driven a truck with 3.55 gears. I've only owned trucks with 3.73 and once or twice I drove a F350 dully with 4.10. You could defiantly tell a difference.

  • ya i've driven a 2006 f-250 V10 with 3.73 and it really jumps from a start and a ranger that has 4.10 but thats all

  • My dad had a 2000 f250 V10 but I'm not sure what gears he had. But it would defiantly get up and go.

  • i pull a alot i garentee that i can do more with my truck than anything that goes faster than 100

  • yea my dad gave me our old 1990 F350 7.3L IDI and bought a new bigger GMC but its made by some fuckin jap company now he wants my truck back lol

  • The isuzu duramax?

  • it is a isuzu but isnt the duramax a V8, iv have never looked under the hood, i supose under the cab acutualy, toc what is had but he tells me it had a 7L inline 4. it is a turbo but it really has little power. any1 know the truck?

  • The duramax v8 diesel is built by Isuzu for GM

  • let that thing warm

  • Earthquake!

  • Nice truck there. The starter may need replaced, it's turning way too slow which may be part of the cold start problem. If you need glow plugs only replace with motorcraft ZD9's. The rest could swell up and break off the tip when they burn out.

  • Tach said around 200-400 while cranking, perfectly normal

  • If you can count the number of cranks by ear it means the starter is turning too slow. I could count his.

  • one battery was powering the truck out of 2

  • wth the cummins sticker under the F 350

  • yea haha it looks good.. i got a 7.3 stick on my cummins

  • hahahaha i love it!! My tachs a little slow...it dont work.

For some reason i found that hilarious. keep the vids commin.

If you want to fix the tach....theres a 1 inch nut on top of the IP gear housing. Thats the tach sensor. Take it out and replace or clean. I doubt cleaning will work. They are fairly cheap.

  • Put Bosch Duraterm Glow pLugs and it start easier my friend trust me Bosch Diesel Glow Plugs are Better

  • is your batt thing not working

  • no its not i have to get a wire diagram and fix it

  • Man, you wouldn't want to be running late for work and hear it cranking like that!

  • ya your right i usally plug it in but i forgot i think its due for new glowplugs
