He;s Reagen reincarnated and his supporters are American
About the long banter below .... didn't it start with the claim that Ron Paul would arbitrarily take the abortion issue into federal hands simply because of his stance on "life"? Because that isn't true at all....
Quote Ron Paul: "The more difficult the issue, the more local the solution should be."
See, Ron Paul has not made any legislative suggestions on that issue. He only says that we should leave the matter of legislature into local hands, while providing his opinion on the side.
Ron Paul is the first one, really talking about following precisely the constiitution!
A documment that - I think there's really no doubt - stands for the values of indivdual liberty more then any other constitutional document ever written!
"Never voted against our second amendment rights. Never voted against our first amendment rights." And yet, voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964!
Sorry, I used the wrong word. I was in "vote" mode. He expressed his disagreement with it. If he HAD been in congress, he would have voted against it.
And he's right. The CR act did not improve race relations or enhance freedom. Instead, the forced integration of the CRA increased racial tensions while shrinking individual liberty for all. It didn't help us acheive a harmonious society at all. It only expanded the power of the federal government over private property. Lots of gov. hype, no results- except bigger government. Typical, sadly.
Your heart is in the right place, but your faith in big government is misplaced. Positive race relations have come about in the US through public attitudes and privte efforts. The CRA, by introducing racial quotas and claiming jurisdiction over all businesses, has actually increased racial tension. Like most things the government promises (say, affordable housing), it ends up just making things worse.
That's more a problem with the EEOC, and I can agree with it... The EEOC should have been enacted seperately, if at all, but that doesn't make the CRA on the whole a bad thing. Your faith in the human race is misplaced if you think positive race relations would have happened without the push made by the CRA. Consider it exposure therapy.
Personally, I don't have faith in humanity. I have faith in God. But regardless, the CRA laid the groundwork for the EEOC by giving our government unprecendented power over hiring, employee relations, and customer service practices of every business in the country. Good intentions, but a pandora's box of big government.

Yeah, but he also wants to change the definition of "life" on a federal level, to "life starts at conception," which would essentially bar the states from legalizing abortion.
I am a prolegalization of drugs kinda guy.. and I think I would rather smoke on a blunt legally. Then be able to know my lover can legally get an abortion..
no, I believe that would force the states treat it like any other "act of violence", over which each state is able to determine its own penalties and regulations- from none at all to fines to imprisonment to whatever they choose.
This is very intellectually dishonest, implying "medical procedure" and "act of violence" are somehow contradictory. Euthanasia is also both, as is forced sterilization- issues that the various states have ruled on over the years.
I don't see it as an act of violence (as long as the woman consents). You must consider it an act of violence because the fetus dies, and you may call this intellectually dishonest too, but people also die during bypass surgeries.
You've made another false connection, as the act of violence under consideration is agianst the baby, not the woman. And I've seen ultrasound footage of a baby being aborted, and, believe me, the little one was not consenting, but writhing in agony. You would be too, if you were being burned alive.
It wasn't a false connection, I just don't see the fetus as a human life. The fetus dies, and so may a person in a bypass surgery. Also, it may be intellectually dishonest to call that "agony"-- The fetus has nerves, but depending on when the abortion took place, it likely did not have pain receptors.
Yes, but your definition of human life is an arbitrary one chosen for convenience. The fetus is of the same kind as yourself in everyway, only smaller and temporary dependent. It's more accuarte to say "physically immature human life" rather than "not human life". It is certainly alive, and certainly not any other species than human.
Alive =/= life. Of course it's alive. But by "life" I mean a being with cognitive function. I belive pro-lifers who define life as starting at conception are also choosing an arbitrary definition for convenience.
No, it's a scientific definition which is much easier to gauge than a vague abstraction like "cognitive function". Unless you're going to continue to be arbitrary, by your principal, adults with "more cognitive function" than others caould also have unchecked power over those with less. And we're philosophically right back into "super race" Eugenics, which is where abortion started.
Depends on which scientist you talk to. Many factions of the scientific world do not define life as starting at conception. As for your second point, an example would be Terri Schiavo. She had no cognitive function. And I believe that she was better off dead.
You're putting forth a duboius philosphical thesis with your above examples: That the rights of a given human can be set by other humans who have the faculty to exert power over them and personally decide the fate of their continued existence based strictly on thier position of physical superiority. Are you sure you're prepared to accept the consequences of a consistent application of this principle?
Not to the extent that you're describing, no. You're taking my so-called principal in black and white, when it's really more in shades of grey. If Schiavo had been aware of her surroundings, do you suppose she'd be happy? Would she feel able to have a fulfilling life? Would she BE able to have a fulfilling life? Those are the sorts of questions I consider to apply this principle.
What I'm doing is called logical consistency- as opposed to the fallacy of arbitrary and selctive application. And now you're put forth another dubious principle: that people can exert unchecked force over others based on a speculative judgement of the person's alleged "fufillment level". Are you prepared to consistently defend this principle?
You've actually got me. I think to describe my position would require much more than I'm able to say here, or even at the moment. You're an excellent debator, and I thank you for your time. :)
I really liked talking with you, too. You're probably one of the only civil people out of a kajillion or so I think I've spoken with online. Thanks for chatting and take care! :)
Love these ads - excellent job. I wish the campaign would air them. I hope you get a website up similar to the blimp where we can give you money to air them.
Great add, please keep the PC to an absolute minimum. One thing Ron Paul is not about is the idiocy of political correctness! That does not mean we shouldn't have some diversity where it is realistic, just no PC, there is a big difference!

Nice but the Apple look a-like ads make it seem like he's a kids candidate. Get some older people but well dressed, successful looking and articulate with books in the background.
Well done!! Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who doesn't want to run the country. Just the executive branch of the federal government. None of the others can even see a difference. And they desperately want to run the country, i.e., you. teaparty07 . com
Ron Paul supporters are now being called radical. Paul supporters are from every party, gender, and race. They are Americans that believe in the Constitution. This is NOW considered radical. How sad. Ridiculed for believing in the foundation of America. For believing in what the founders of our country fought for, died for. Radical? No, passionate. God Bless America and god bless all my brothers and sisters. Ron Paul 2008.
amazing ad...proffesional and gives a pretty good overview of dr. ron paul. someone needs to air this ad, you should talk to ron paul's campaign people.
"but make no mistake - his aim is to draw a line in the sand on this issue."
do you have anything to support that claim?
His views may be one way or the other, but he's passionate about keeping the government out of our lives. From what I gather, he will support that over his own moral beliefs on subjects like these.
The issue will be left up to the states to decide for themselves , like they did pre roe vs wade. It's imporant to remember that NY had legalized abortion before Roe vs. wade. They had the right to do that as a state.
there should be more ads of Ron Paul talking/pwning newbs, not ppl flapping there lips. do something different this is the same as the first ad, which I did not like.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ron Paul would protect everyone's privacy - except for women who have the misfortune of a dangerous and/or unplanned and unwanted pregnancy. He cannot declare life begins at conception and then assign Constitutional rights to that life, without violating the rights of the woman. Ron Paul says abortion should be a state's rights issue, but make no mistake - his aim is to draw a line in the sand on this issue.
Dr. Paul's position is that we can't protect liberty and individual freedom if we can't protect life. And a baby has the right not to be terminated by the whim of those in power over it. As a doctor who has delivered over 4000 babies in his life, his position of concern for the unborn is fairly understandable.
no, he only aims to put these decisions back to where they belong, to the voter. If the states vote to legalize abortion Ron Paul would stand for their right to do so because it is the will of the people. He really is not like other politicians. He has no hidden agenda and there are no special interest groups pulling his strings. This is why we trust him for the White House.
Did you know that life-threatening and rape related pregnancies count for less than one half of a percent of all abortions. That means 40 million are killed just cause Johnny didn't pull out. Usually if the birth puts the mother in danger, they perform a C-section. Just take the pill, it's not that hard and nobody dies.
yeah, I know. The black actors got called into work at the last second. But the shoot was all set up, so we had to roll. Bad luck. But it'll work for Iowa, since Iowa is all white. But other than that, I need to redo it to be more diverse.
thats funny that you think iowa is all white, yeah most people think iowa is jsut a bunch of hicks with a piece of grass hangin from there mouth, yuuuppppp.anyhow good video
it's not an opinion. Iowa is 95% white according to its own census data. And who said anything about hicks? White doesn't = redneck. I'm from NYC, and I've never been to Iowa, but I'm sure they're pretty decent people there.
no, I just made it myself. I think it's going to run via a couple PACs in Iowa and NH, so I'll have to re-time it and add the disclaimer at the end. I was just doing it for fun, but it kinda took off, so I have to change it to comply with FEC regs. Good observation.
well it was a great commercial...no offense to RP's campaign but it connected better to the people and to me than his others. He's got my vote and i hope to see this commercial soon...good work.
thanks, looks like it'll be up in NH and Iowa. But I'll have to do new ones for other states that are more ethnically diverse, which is what I always wanted to do anyway.
yeah, that stuff always happens when you shoot for free. People cancel, get called into work, etc. It happens. We were just kinda messing around. Didn't expect the ads to be a big hit. But they got big, and it looks like they're going on air. I'm still a little surprised, actually.
Finally, a eloquent spokesman for liberty! Win or lose, thank you Ron Paul.
Governments derive their power from the consent of the governed. Sadly, we consent too often by our apathy because our only choice is between left-wing progressives and right-wing progressives who think it's okay to use the power of government to control us.
Some choice, eh? Lefty tyrant. Righty tyrant. No thanks. How about a return to limited self-government? Now there's a choice.
The Federal Reserve System, created in 1913, is a quasi-governmental/quasi-private banking system composed of (1) the presidentially-appointed Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C.; (2) the Federal Open Market Committee; (3) 12 regional Federal Reserve Banks located in major cities throughout the nation acting as fiscal agents for the U.S. Treasury, each with its own nine-member board of directors
Ok, my next question is that I've never found where Ron Paul draws the free market to government control line. For instance I heard someone say the FBI would be gone, is that true? Military must be government controlled, no?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but he wises to abolish the American currency and have privatized currencies. How could that work with possible counterfeiters that would be able to easily mimic some privatized notes?
Lol, you absolutely missed the point. Current currency is privatized, he wants it to be government owned, because you pay an interest on privatized currency!
Sorry for late reply. Yeah it is privatized, it is owned by federal reserver, federal reserve is a private bank, given a power to print money. Ron Paul wants to say NO to federal reserve and make dollar to be backed up by gold/silver and to be print at government institution.
I actually would like to debate Ron Paul's ideas, because although I've been a supporter of his for 8 months, I'm starting to have doubts.
So my first question I hope someone can answer is, do you believe America will have a difficult time adjusting to Ron Paul's ideas. Do you think all his ideas will be passed if he gets in? Do you believe there won't be revolts if his ideas are instituted.
After all, humans are habitual.
So simply put, can America handle a Ron Paul change?
He has said continuously that in order for him to inact his policies, there needs to be consesus among the American people. Therefore his job as President would be to set some standards in what people understand the role of government to be, in order to gain consensus and enact his ideas. obviously no-one would accept some of his policies unless they give up ideas about welfarism and policing the world.
He said, that his policies would not be immediate, the only thing he will do immediately is pull out from Iraq and get rid of the IRS. Other than that, it takes time to implement other changes.
With all the mess Bush has done in America, any change Ron Paul does will push America up instead of down. So yes, people will love the change. Especially when they feel their pockets getting bigger.
Good ad ! It could use some older faces of some traditional Americans like myself who believe in the constitution and the values of our country-the ones under assault by the current leadership.
I'd like to publically announce that phosgene2 has been banned from the forum. Any other loser trolls will be similarly blocked, and their comments deleted. People are welcome to debate ideas, commercials, advertising in general, etc. But popping in and leaving dumb commetns with the sole intention of picking fights will result in a swift banning. Thanks for stopping in and giving us all some big laughs and you and your tiny brain, phosgene2, but the adults have to talk now. Bye bye.
The "under 25" crowd numbers in the millions. Many have never voted. They will now. Election experts have never faced this situation. True older republicans hear Ron Paul's message loud and clear. Ron Paul will be President.
This is MUCH better than ad#1. Only criticism...the girl and guy standing together? Have her look directly at the camera, not with her head down and to the side like she is at a photo shoot?
Yes...and don't they also seem like they don't really know or care about each other in private life? If they're going to portray a couple with some level of affection, they need to look much more comfortable together.
I'm sure you worked hard on it, but I think it can be really improved! So how about not acting facetious and take our feedback! Our country's at stake!
Lighten up Francis. How about making your own commercial rather than rehashing the same critique that has been addressed COUNTLESS times in these comment sections? The producer of these commercials has taken the feedback and, if he gets the chance to make more ads, will make the improvements people have suggested. In the meantime, there's nothing wrong with a little joking around.
Lancesorbenson, don't be silly. Make my own commercial? If I offer an improvement in a forum meant for suggestions, I'm not "lightened up"? I just want Ron Paul's message spread as effectively as possible. I didn't know my suggestions had already been suggested.
Read the other 10,000 comments here about this exact same topic and understand why I no longer give longwinded responses anymore. This issue has been beaten to death so many times on this board.
Alright, man, i didn't read the other 10,000 comments, sorry! Anyway, I'm on your side here: I want you to do a great job, and I'm sure you will! I didn't expect a longwinded answer!
I want the message spread too, but the guy who produced the commercials and I have been talking about the repetitious diversity critique. The plan when these were originally shot was to have a more diverse group. The people in the ads are the people who showed up. The point is, this criticism has been addressed ad infinitum here, to the point were it's become a little comical. I spend several hours a day working on RP-related stuff and every once in a while you gotta goof around.
I think they should include someone with age, who might appear to have gleaned some wisdom in his life time and who has learned that Ron Paul is indeed a unique man and will be a national hero if elected!

"but make no mistake - his aim is to draw a line in the sand on this issue."
do you have anything to support that claim?
His views may be one way or the other, but he's passionate about keeping the government out of our lives. From what I gather, he will support that over his own moral beliefs on subjects like these.
ItsDanBoy 4 years ago
The issue will be left up to the states to decide for themselves , like they did pre roe vs wade. It's imporant to remember that NY had legalized abortion before Roe vs. wade. They had the right to do that as a state.
jblackpost 4 years ago
there should be more ads of Ron Paul talking/pwning newbs, not ppl flapping there lips. do something different this is the same as the first ad, which I did not like.

jblackpost 4 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Ron Paul would protect everyone's privacy - except for women who have the misfortune of a dangerous and/or unplanned and unwanted pregnancy. He cannot declare life begins at conception and then assign Constitutional rights to that life, without violating the rights of the woman. Ron Paul says abortion should be a state's rights issue, but make no mistake - his aim is to draw a line in the sand on this issue.
LiberalSpirit 4 years ago
Dr. Paul's position is that we can't protect liberty and individual freedom if we can't protect life. And a baby has the right not to be terminated by the whim of those in power over it. As a doctor who has delivered over 4000 babies in his life, his position of concern for the unborn is fairly understandable.
jblackpost 4 years ago
no, he only aims to put these decisions back to where they belong, to the voter. If the states vote to legalize abortion Ron Paul would stand for their right to do so because it is the will of the people. He really is not like other politicians. He has no hidden agenda and there are no special interest groups pulling his strings. This is why we trust him for the White House.
prytulas 4 years ago
Did you know that life-threatening and rape related pregnancies count for less than one half of a percent of all abortions. That means 40 million are killed just cause Johnny didn't pull out. Usually if the birth puts the mother in danger, they perform a C-section. Just take the pill, it's not that hard and nobody dies.

um so i'm all for ron paul...but all of those people were white... add some diversity to your ads buddy
alkaline53 4 years ago
yeah, I know. The black actors got called into work at the last second. But the shoot was all set up, so we had to roll. Bad luck. But it'll work for Iowa, since Iowa is all white. But other than that, I need to redo it to be more diverse.
jblackpost 4 years ago
thats funny that you think iowa is all white, yeah most people think iowa is jsut a bunch of hicks with a piece of grass hangin from there mouth, yuuuppppp.anyhow good video
hounddogdad 4 years ago
it's not an opinion. Iowa is 95% white according to its own census data. And who said anything about hicks? White doesn't = redneck. I'm from NYC, and I've never been to Iowa, but I'm sure they're pretty decent people there.

good commercial but i didnt hear the i approve this message thing at the end...is this an official ad. just curious
doboy09 4 years ago
no, I just made it myself. I think it's going to run via a couple PACs in Iowa and NH, so I'll have to re-time it and add the disclaimer at the end. I was just doing it for fun, but it kinda took off, so I have to change it to comply with FEC regs. Good observation.
jblackpost 4 years ago
well it was a great commercial...no offense to RP's campaign but it connected better to the people and to me than his others. He's got my vote and i hope to see this commercial soon...good work.
doboy09 4 years ago
thanks, looks like it'll be up in NH and Iowa.

I'm still a little surprised, actually.
jblackpost 4 years ago

ScotterS69 4 years ago
that's right the fed res is privately owned ! we pay intrest to them and its OUR money !
h2oholic 4 years ago
Ok, my next question is that I've never found where Ron Paul draws the free market to government control line. For instance I heard someone say the FBI would be gone, is that true? Military must be government controlled, no?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but he wises to abolish the American currency and have privatized currencies. How could that work with possible counterfeiters that would be able to easily mimic some privatized notes?
ScotterS69 4 years ago
Lol, you absolutely missed the point. Current currency is privatized, he wants it to be government owned, because you pay an interest on privatized currency!
Azprint 4 years ago
currency is privatized? By what corporation? Funded by taxpayers? I'm confused.
ScotterS69 4 years ago
Sorry for late reply. Yeah it is privatized, it is owned by federal reserver, federal reserve is a private bank, given a power to print money. Ron Paul wants to say NO to federal reserve and make dollar to be backed up by gold/silver and to be print at government institution.
Azprint 4 years ago

Azprint 4 years ago
I actually would like to debate Ron Paul's ideas, because although I've been a supporter of his for 8 months, I'm starting to have doubts.
So my first question I hope someone can answer is, do you believe America will have a difficult time adjusting to Ron Paul's ideas. Do you think all his ideas will be passed if he gets in? Do you believe there won't be revolts if his ideas are instituted.
After all, humans are habitual.
So simply put, can America handle a Ron Paul change?
ScotterS69 4 years ago
He has said continuously that in order for him to inact his policies, there needs to be consesus among the American people. Therefore his job as President would be to set some standards in what people understand the role of government to be, in order to gain consensus and enact his ideas. obviously no-one would accept some of his policies unless they give up ideas about welfarism and policing the world.
themightysmackles 4 years ago
He said, that his policies would not be immediate, the only thing he will do immediately is pull out from Iraq and get rid of the IRS. Other than that, it takes time to implement other changes.
Azprint 4 years ago
With all the mess Bush has done in America, any change Ron Paul does will push America up instead of down. So yes, people will love the change. Especially when they feel their pockets getting bigger.

Bye bye.

I'm sure you worked hard on it, but I think it can be really improved! So how about not acting facetious and take our feedback! Our country's at stake!
Wikimedian 4 years ago
Lighten up Francis. How about making your own commercial rather than rehashing the same critique that has been addressed COUNTLESS times in these comment sections? The producer of these commercials has taken the feedback and, if he gets the chance to make more ads, will make the improvements people have suggested. In the meantime, there's nothing wrong with a little joking around.
lancesorbenson 4 years ago
Lancesorbenson, don't be silly. Make my own commercial? If I offer an improvement in a forum meant for suggestions, I'm not "lightened up"? I just want Ron Paul's message spread as effectively as possible. I didn't know my suggestions had already been suggested.
Wikimedian 4 years ago 2
Read the other 10,000 comments here about this exact same topic and understand why I no longer give longwinded responses anymore. This issue has been beaten to death so many times on this board.
jblackpost 4 years ago
Alright, man, i didn't read the other 10,000 comments, sorry! Anyway, I'm on your side here: I want you to do a great job, and I'm sure you will! I didn't expect a longwinded answer!
Wikimedian 4 years ago
I want the message spread too, but the guy who produced the commercials and I have been talking about the repetitious diversity critique. The plan when these were originally shot was to have a more diverse group. The people in the ads are the people who showed up. The point is, this criticism has been addressed ad infinitum here, to the point were it's become a little comical. I spend several hours a day working on RP-related stuff and every once in a while you gotta goof around.
lancesorbenson 4 years ago
sorry, man, I'm just really tired of hearing about it. It's time for NEW suggestions.
