You should have been riding a smaller horse. And I ride kinda tall horse at the age of nine and I just went horse riding this morning. And you seemed a bit scared like me when i WAS that age but now im 11
@wall1967 I don't want to be mean, but it's not a good idea, no matter how cute. Not only do those boots have no heel (which means that Annie could slip her foot out of the stirrup accidently or worse, all the way in. That means that if she fell off with her foot all the way in, she'd be dragged on the ground, possibly breaking her neck) but they wouldn't protect her foot if she got stepped on (so she would break her foot, and this does happen often, I've been stepped on countless times!
i just started riding again in kokomo indiana i rode 2 years ago for a while but im soo happy i started. Today was my first lesson for this year on a beautiful horse named thunder
For a first lesson that was really good. I hade one lesson on my cosins horse Alfie and I was petrified I thought I was going to fall of but I got the hang of it and loved. Tis a shame my mum wouldn't let me start riding lessons
WOW! She is a great little rider! She is going to LOVE what's up ahead for her. Horseback riding is very addicting. She is so cute too, and the horse was so gentle!
not bad for the first try. the confidence could be better but something like that will only come with time! good job for the first try keep working at it!
it was about a year ago when i had my first riding lesson i was terrified because i was on an ex-racehorse that was tall but after a few lessons i realized as well as my instructor that i had a ton of natural ability let me do something once and i get it the second time now i am riding with people who have been riding for 3 and 4 years and i'm the best in my class. so i'm glad i stayed with it and i'm sure annie did too. it is so much fun!
I still remember my first lesson about eight years ago. I rode a huge horse(Well, I was small), a grey named Blizzard (how imaginitive) and it was bareback. it was Western technique, though I ride English now, but it was the best day of my life. A couple years later, I was at a camp and the horse I was on bolted and I got really scared. So, I went back a few years later with band, and we went for a trail ride. I got on that same horse, and I haven't been even a little scared since.
There really aren't any smaller horses like Lily. I think that the smaller the horses get at Oakland Hills, the brattier they are. ;) There are some ponies but they're all very hard to ride.
Thks :) no... we just use the horses at the farm, but they are very good. We need to make another video, since she's been riding for months now & is getting much better!
you gotta love Lily, don't you? I rode her for like 6 months - it was a blast. she's such an angel! Now I either ride Leo - he's the one who looks like a dalmation hahaha.
Jess is a great instructor, Annie's lucky to be able to start out with her (I went through 2 yrs and two instructor before i met jess)
For now we've got one in Irish dance, and one in riding - she needed a break from dance, but is going to soon be in both. So far Irish Dance is more expensive!! (Detroit Feis is tomorrow - see you there??)
That horse is too big for her?;p

If you ever wanted to, you could get Annie pink riding boots with a steel toe and heel for her safely.
