@wizzkaffa hold the home and power buttons till it turns off..then once it does dont release the power button just the home.(since it'll turn back on like u said) after a couple seconds it should turn off.

@Wizzkaffa I used to have that problem with my iPod Touch 3g, I gave it to my brother and what he did was replace the battery and it started working fine again, it's a simple process and the battery shouldn't be too expensive... Hope this helps!

How to enter dfu miode:

1. turn off ur device

2. hold down power + home button for "12 Secounds"

3. release the power button but keep holding down the home button in "12 secounds"

Now you can restore in itunes without any errors!

@MrFlick1000 well if its jailbroken and you have installed too many packages or something your ipod may be screwed for good thats what happened to me and i needed a new one :/ but if you take off the jailbreak and restore to a normal apple firmware thats the only thing i can think of

if anything else send it in to apple if you have a warranty left! hope this helps
