  • @2SevenSeas2 almost a year...I truly believe you have to find out what you enjoy...what works for you...and you really want to do it. also I ate right ..better choices, not starving my self. there is no quick way to loosing weight and the thing is also the weight is staying off because I took my time with it.

  • Meh, I still use the original, old school Tae Bo Advanced workout. It gets the job done WELL.

  • Tae Bo is amazing. To make up for the uneven reps, each time I watch a video I switch between mirroring what Billy is doing and following his "left, right" instructions. In the video he doesn't do it backwards, so it's not so difficult switching between the two.

  • Haha! There is so such thing as 'Downside' to TAE-BO... Billy is the Master of it all!! If he does a few more reps on one side, you may switch yourself. : ))) Sometimes I do deliberatly the left side, when he does the right throughout the whole video. No problem! When I did his BOOTCAMP video's 3 times a week, I have ever been stronger!!!!! Now I only do it once a week. xxxxxxxxx

  • Why did you use "Billy Blanks Taebo Workout (The Downside)" as a title when you reviewed other videos as well? I clicked on your vid expecting one thing and got something different. However, I agree with your review about Taebo, he does tend to work one side harder than the other. But, out of all the vids I have, Taebo is still the best.

  • hey! i'm happy to hear that these workout videos are doing well for u! :) Ive been using the Tae Bo Fat Blasting Cardio for about 2 weeks now. my diet isnt very well but i have cut back on MANY things such as snacking and i drink 4 or more bottles of water daily. but i havent seen any results yet..i'm beginning to lose hope and i'm feeling like quiting. i dont want to but i get so bummed that ive seen no change. will i see progress soon? :) how long did it take you to see results?

  • the best video is jillian micheals 30 day shred it is awesome and when u workout it is not like u are going to die cuz u cant breath i have been doing it since aug 4th and i have lost 10 pound. I love cokes and snacks just stay away from the cokes and i promise u u will start noticing a change. And try to eat less fatty foods. when u want a snack eat fruits promise will fill up.

  • @tonbrooke I've done that a long time and noticed nothing. I already ate decently (not like a body builder) and am not overweight but wanted to lose some fat. This did nothing. It's quite depressing.

  • @sully922010 I hear ya. I eat decently and workout 5x/week...nothing. I still don't stop doing it but it is depressing.

  • Try callanetics by callan pinckney. I did it 10 times now and my butt has lifted 2 cm, waist is smaller, belly flatter and my thighs tighter!! and it's good for people with back problems because there is no jumping etc in the workout.

  • tae bo is the only workout regimen that has EVER made a difference for me. i am a large woman and i swear, in 2 weeks i ad shed 15 lbs. i did this every night, along w some winsor pilates. and IT WORKED. over a few years and recent arrival of my baby girl, i have gained weight back., and tae bo is the only workout im looking forward too and feel great after. <3 billy blanks and <3 this vid. very informative :)

  • After the first few viewing surely you can just mute your tv and listen to your own music? It's not like it's hard to remember what he said the previous time you watched it. I've done the abs-bootcamp one 4 times and I no longer listen to the audio at all. No need to.

  • As a personal and group fitness trainer, I wanted to make a couple comments responding to the various comments on this board about Billy Blanks video.

    1- to lose fat (worry about that, not BMI so much), diet is of utmost importance, If you blow the diet, every else is irrelevant.

    2- I sometimes lose count and do not balance both sides of an exercise. This is about heart rate elevation.

    3- Music is individual taste - check it out yourself.

    4- You should enjoy your exercise for best results

  • my cousin has the tae bo fat blaster dvd. i gained a little more than 10 pounds in just a month. my bmi used to be in the mid normals but now it's pushing to overweight. i guess i have to go steal the dvd from her room then if it actually works.

  • I just started taebo im doin it for a week now, I got asthma, so i cant do it all at once so i started by deoin 5 min 3 times a day, im now on 15 min a day... I really hope i can increase the workout time. can anyone motivate me pls? i feel so slow for only makin it to 15 min, but i jst cant breathe anymore afterwards

  • ive started doing 15 mins too..its good to start out small and work your way up..that way your body can get used to it..just remember to be proud of the SMALL changes..dont look for big changes right away..because you'll get disapointed. If you do it every day it soon becomes a habit..which will lead to great weightloss.

  • @shespa hi i also started taebo cardio workout a month ago and i have also an asthma, at first it's really hard and i just do it halfway but as day passes i really just push myself in doing those things i thought i could never do (as Billy Blanks says hehe) and now i'm doing advanced taebo yehey!! ^_^ ...even though in the middle of my workout sometimes wheezing appears hehe i just do the deep breathing exercise it really helps for as asthmatics ..^_^

  • Tae Bo is definitely the most fun. I had the chance to go to the old studio and do the workout with Billy in person; AWESOME! And alot harder than any of the videos.

  • I started out with the T3 series...total of four dvd's,and i also do the ultimate taebo. You have to burn fat before you see a change in your waistline. It takes time but you can do it.

  • Taebo is by far the BEST workout EVER!!!! I love his videos. No workout is ever 100 % perfect but Taebo is a great exercise choice!

  • I HATE video workouts that do not use music done by the orginal artists. The music starts to drive me crazy. Do you know what billy blank video has the music that you hear on the radio by the orginal artists, I know there is at least 1 video that has it on it. If anyone can tell me the name or recommend other videos with real songs on it I would be thrilled thanks.

  • my auntie was pretty big pushing 200 plus pounds in her teens. She did Taebo for less than a year and wow she look like a different person. I'm doing it now cause I'm tired of wasting money on the gym and my body doesn't seem to be uneven and the results are coming fast week two.

  • It seems like "Turbo Jam" is so similar to Tae-Bo. Do you have an opinion on "Hip Hop Abs"? A friend of mine has it and it has worked really well for her. Just want your opinion.

  • ok, for everyone who hasnt worked it out yet, to avoid the problem of "doing more on one side" ... every second time you do the workout, do the OPPOSITE SIDES of what he says, ALTERNATE... makes` sense to me. I mean, osmedays it is good to do more on one side, then the next day swap round, it breaks the pattern of regularity and thus makes it harded for your muscles to get used to it...

  • you are right that is what i did without knowing . she likes to seam smart and knowledge but she seams sexist and make her preferences lake a "this is the best " maybe for her i like and used billy blanks all my frinds are like woww after 2 weeks .i did some  before but i got lasy .

  • I have lots of Tae Bo videos and every single one of them has that same problem. Uneven repetitions. But that is not a big problem though. I just count and make sure to do same amount on each side and then find a moment to get back with the routine. So sad that the older live Tae Bo videos are not available on DVD.

  • thanks this was so nice of you to do! I have been doing tae bo for years and I also swear by it. You are right he does do more on one side than the other lol. I usually just ignore him and alter it where it makes sense. I also like Denise Austin yoga and denise austin in general. I will keep your vid recommendations in mind b/c I'm always looking for something new!

  • @junexXxbug Thats's why when I do the workout I keep a mental note of the fact that he doesn't do both sides equally and I even it out myself. So if he does left and he doesn't do right, I rewind the video and do it on the opposite side also. Its a little bit tedious doing this but symmetry is success.

  • I don't mean to be negative about Tao Bo...Billy Blanks seems like an awesome person who is committed to helping people but we all have our preferences for what type of videos we like. Remember that you will get a great workout but you might have to do a few extra reps on one side :) Mia

  • If you didn't want to say anyting negative about Tae Bo, why did you name this video: "Billy Blanks Taebo Workout (The Downside)"? The Tae Bo method did miracles for me, I lost a lot of weight and got in shape very fast. So it REALLY doesn't matter if during some workouts, he does more on one side than on the other (this only happens with 1 or 2 exercises per DVD by the way).

  • There are NO DOWNSIDES to the Tae Bo method if you are a healthy person. It's actually a lot of fun.

  • I agree there are no downsides to Tae bo but you don't have to be in great shape to have fun with it. I actually was not in great shape but i eventually was able to do the entire video.

  • when i first started taebo i was 220, i did the workout 5 days a week for 3 months and went down to 169 pounds. As long as your consistant and eat right you will lose weight. Taebo is the best. My body did get use to the 1st workout dvd, so i had to buy the green and yellow taebo dvd and then my weight started to come off again.

  • Your post has really motivated me. I was told by the doctor that I need to shed some weight since I am trying for a baby. I weighed in at 97kg which is roughly 220lbs that u weighed. I will appreciate if I can get some help on the kind of food u were eating also.
