I don't think you're as stupid as the premise of this video suggests. You can say not drilling for oil is a liberal idea all you like, but the oil executives have said that how long it would take for the fuel to come to market. Everyone but exxon pulled out of the lobby group. So at best, in 10 years, we'll be depleting another finite source of energy. We need a real solution, and when you grow up, maybe you'll be able to see the difference.

How about the fact that no provisions for the oil being used in the US were ever made. There's no proof there even is oil there, and if there is, how much. Senator Cantwell from Washington:

By pinheads, you're referring to the oil execs that believe it's such a poor investment, they're pulling out of the lobbying group. Oil wells drop in production levels. They produce less oil everyday than the day before. It is very costly to drill holes and get nothing, and it happens. You want to put all your eggs in a basket with egg sized holes. What I don't understand is how you can be so close minded to alternative energy given the rate of advancement in the technology.

I and my wife trusted Obama. We did not vote in 2008, but we are in Texas. Those who were calling him a socialist turned out to be correct, opps, yes americans we screwed up. Energy is the blood of our country; without it, we die. Should we go back to farming our own land and burning wood for energy? If we did go back to the past, then about 200 plus million of us would need to die first because innovation and oil-coal is what has made it possible for so many to live in this country in relative richness.

To answer your question, I think that they are neither. I think that Obama really thinks that more government control over our lives will make things better.
