It was absolutly great! But I missed the nice camera shake effect and the earth shakes when the car is transforming into the robot. It gives the shot more dynamics and life. Also more sound effects would be nicer ;) Anyway, great job!

nicely illustrates the pitfall of eyecandy without the directorial purview....see, your way way off dudes. there is just waaaaay too much mass and volume on the robot from the source (BMW). good use of the comp and model tools naturally...but any monkey can do that with enough practice. the Art cannot be taught. you either have it or you dont. thats why there's only one Spielberg, one Cameron....and lots of vfx techs working with the lights off.

The only crit I could give it is that it lacks weight. The transformation and design are both very slick and well planned, but it seems to 'float', like there is no sense of weight.

Besides the transformation being awesome. When it first started playing it looked like a freakin car commercial! You know (they cgi most of them) coming around the dozer, depth perception, and the model of the car is rediculously realistic. Very nice, excellent effects. One thing to watch for is the inertia of the car as it's driving and braking. Smoother movements and more suspension roll and dip give the impression of mass. Check out footage of rally cars to see how they wobble and bounce.

We got an L+

Each effects element was a different pass, so we'd have the most control in the comp. I think in total we used ~45 passes.... lots of stuff out of framebuffers with mental ray, also.
