When I first saw the link to this vid I was all like that song totally wouldnt work for them and then once I watched it I was like

Thanks. The lyrics were the key. "She can kill with a smile" and "carelessly cut you and laugh while your bleeding". Marian was so mean to Guy! She did NOT deserve his love.

she was a little bit too much of the Elizabeth Swann type for me to like her

and Sir Guy was Marian's Norrington hopelessly in love with her and she's off galavanting with outlaws

a lot of similarities only Robin Hood is no Orlando Bloom

and in RH the girl gets killed and the crossed lover lives

where as in POTC its the opposite

I'd never quite looked at it that way, but you're right. If Robin were more like Orlando Bloom I might feel differently about it too. I would still prefer Guy but at least I wouldn't be rooting for his death. Lol

I am actually writing a fanfic where Guy falls madly in love with someone other than Marian (duh she's dead)

and they have several adventures and end up getting married and living sort of happily ever after

and the Sherriff gets killed so no more Vasey controlling Guy

which is good the Sheriff wasnt hot he therefore has no right to live

Once again, another beautiful video from you Becky. One of my favorite Billy Joel songs, and so appropriate for Marian. You gave so much thought to each clip, and I was especially struck by the part about "carelessly cut you and laugh while you're bleeding" with Marian telling Guy she was going to marry Robin. Wow, very powerful matchup of lyrics to clips there. This video summed up Guy's devotion and her dual nature with him perfectly. I even got a little choked up. 5 stars and fav'd!
