This was a protection against a gov established state religion as in England. Removing all mention of God in our language would establish the religion of Atheism as the State Religion and violate the constitution.
Saying "In God we trust" establishes a religion. It says that the Federal government believes in a specific God (capitalized) and trusts it. It excludes all polytheistic religions.
Removing it does not establish atheism. It merely returns it to the state prior to 1957.
If you don't think mentioning something and saying you trust it is establishing a religion why not "In Zeus we trust", "In gods we trust", or "In Satan we trust"? Nothing says you can't mention these either.

darris321, your correct it depends on your definition of Religion. The definition of Atheism is broad spectrum also. Watching these videos reminded me of Televangelists with their questions/answers/testimony, furvor of Belief, unwillingness to other viewpoints, etc. By definition Religion does not need a god. The biggest problem is Atheists use conventional Religion to disprove God. Historic Religion is all man created. Non of this has anything to do with how the Universe began.
televangelists use only one book or books about that book and atheists tend to use reasoned arguments and provide evidence which is easily cross referenced

If what he says is true then why are atheists suing to remove to remove "In God We Trust" from public view since it is an Opinion? Christmas plays, desplays, etc are said to "Offend" people and must be removed. According to what they just stated this is just as the bumper sticker and should be left alone. The constitution only comes into play when it benefits these people, just as we see it being violated in Washington now.

Because the first amendment of the constitution forbids the government from endoring religion. Money is issued by the government and stating there is a God and that you trust him endorses a religion.
The constitution gives different rights and responsibilities to the government than individual citizens. Individuals are free to established or endorse religions if they wish... the government is not. The government is free to make and enforce laws... individuals are not.

Saying "In God we trust" establishes a religion. It says that the Federal government believes in a specific God (capitalized) and trusts it. It excludes all polytheistic religions.
Removing it does not establish atheism. It merely returns it to the state prior to 1957.
If you don't think mentioning something and saying you trust it is establishing a religion why not "In Zeus we trust", "In gods we trust", or "In Satan we trust"? Nothing says you can't mention these either.

It does NOT have to involve a God, just Belief and that qualifies Atheism as a Religion because of the ABSOLUTE belief there is no God. Ok, if you can be convinced by some sort of proof than you are Not an Atheist but an Agnostic. Atheists like these ban together against Religion with a belief system that says God cannot exist. I think that God Probably does not exist but cannot be sure because you cant prove it either way. There is no more proof of Aliens than God.
