this was very good, but I have one problem. I cannot see some stuffs on my monitor with the new settings, for example the fps from the fraps program that is showed up on the monitor.

So I have to think when I pressed the record button and I don't know if I record unless I minimize and watch down the left corner on my desktop.

@sif902 that's not a waste...30 fps isn't smooth and I don't like it. I get no lag with 80 and no fps drop so it does work. If you have to record at 30 fps then you may as well use a program like Wegame where the file size is smaller.

@TheTrojan665 You're talking about reducing recording lag for other people (I guess why you made this video), so if u can record with 80+ fps in fraps doesn't mean other people can. Youtube uses like 24-30 fps. Have a look at my MW2 video with the 30 fps setting in fraps on my channel.

I record with the game maxed out as well.

And why do you record half size with your resulution?

@sif902 "It may not work for everyone but it has worked for me and several other people." I have already helped out several other commentators using this video as a guide. The most neccessary part is the in-game settings to reduce FPS drop. For me (and TWO of my computers I tried this out on) even if I recorded at 50 fps I still got an fps drop (where about every 15 seconds my FPS would drastically drop to like 10). I was able to fix this by using these settings. I was able to record at 80 fps

@sif902 even on my old computer (which is about 4 years old). I record at half size because full size is way too demanding. I believe I said in the video that I record at 80 fps because it gives me the best results, but you should record at at least 50 FPS or above depending on your rig. If you have to record at 30 fps, its much better to use Wegame, which has a good quality and a much smaller file size. Again, I am focusing on reducing FPS DROP so that people can record at a higher fps.

@TheTrojan665 But lets say, if you are going to upload the vid to youtube, you dont need more than 30fps at maximum. If you feel that 30 fps is not smooth, there is something wrong. I had the same problem with the old version of Fraps. The newest version has an option to lock/unlock fps, which means you can either record and play at lets say 30fps, OR you can only record at 30 fps and play at your normal fps. This should prevent your weird lag/not smoothness, as it did for me.

@sif902 I'm not sure you understand. If you record at 30fps you are going to play at FPS (with this version of fraps, not the new version). This is a tutorial using version 3.03 of fraps where that option is not available. I render the video in 30fps for Youtube, but I record at 80fps so that I get 80 FPS in-game. The problem most people have with FRAPS is the random, horrible FPS drops that make it difficult to play. The in-game settings are the most important factor.

@Demented430 Don't record at 1280-720 use the size that your monitor can handle. If your monitor isn't built for widescreen don't record in widescreen.

@Demented430 game booster closes hidden programs that take up space, which releases usable ram. That speeds up your system. Yes, you can use it with Xfire (I recommend Wegame instead of Xfire though).

@PuppetMa5teR Yes, it frees up at least 300mb of ram. I have 4 gigs of ram which means that I run normally at about 2.8 gigs of ram. With game booster it goes to about 3 gigs or ram. It's worth it and its free.
