He had an amazing knack with his unique ability to deliver his broadcasts in an uninhibited nonconforming style. Everyone knows he was a legend at CNN who opened up the path for announcers to come to plate as themselves instead of conforming to the conservative norm. I can tell you that whenever I heard that I would be working with Van Earl I knew I was in talented company.
