i did my leaving cert history research topic on the operations to destroy the facilities at rjukan. read ray mears book on the operations and many more books including one written by one of the sabotuers. the story of what they actually did is just incredible-always amazes me

Ray Mears' BBC documentary series on the Heroes of Telemark was a most fitting tribute to the greatly brave and physically tough Norwegian sabotage teams that executed the Telemark raids in 1942/43. Even during World War II when bravery was the norm and heroism was not uncommon on either side, the Norwegian teams that raided Norsk Hydro's Vermork heavy-water plant and their associated operations at Telemark stand out as quite remarkable and most extraordinary men.

Well, we do also have our own stealth boats, made only by Norway, our own model. Totally new boats, there is no other boat which are the same. Ok, good you have nice aircraf, I dont know about that in Norway, but I know we have one of the highest trained militarys in Europe. Well, after the list of the formost experts 1600-1800 history, Norway came at a third place with their navy. That was after Spain and Great britain.

Norway was one of the Allied which did the biggest contributions in 2WW by means of their Nortraship fleet counting 1000 ships which supplied 60% of all vital goods to UK from USA, and 30% fuel needed for D-Day. Not exactly my brains, more the brains of the pasifists people, who ruled the country at that time, didnt feld that there might be a VERY BIG CHANCH to be attacked. They just ignord the facts. But the Dutch armed forces, an army with rifles from 1890 and artillery and anti arcraft guns ( vickers :) ) from the WW1 did hold the german panzers, SS and paratroopers for 5 days, crucial for the defence of belgium and france.( to be continued )

Narvik in Norway was Hitlers first defeat in 2WW...and it took him 3 months to conquer the country. Norwegians sunk a lot of german ships, especially Blücher which killed over 1000 nazi soldiers. The Russian army did not wake up before end of the worldwar, and finally conquered the german one.

But all respect to the finns, they did a good job, but the russian army we saw in 1939, was a completely different one than in 1945.

However, Norway did a HUGE effort in 2WW by their Merchant fleet, which was the third largest, and fastest in the world. Whitout them D-Day would been delayed. Holland did not do fuck all!

the germans didnt climb up to our mountians cus they didnt have the abillety to survive in such a harsh landscape.. instead they took out our capital(after a delae - blücher) by drooping paratroopers first, then capture our plane stations.. then they fleew and droped troops off at the stations.. during our occupation they were mostly stationed in our citys and blocked our borders etc.. we are just 4.5 mill norwegians so how could we fight back when they had an army stationed in norway that was

10 times bigger than ours? there are like what.. 60 mill germans? every single battle the germans won in norway was urban battles.. cus they are mostly urban ppl(except for ppls in the alps). when battles in the mountians took place we beated them, but in oslo or trondheim etc, we didnt stand a chance! its not like u think it is dutchboy! only german elite troops like fallschirmjägers and alphunters had even the guts to fight in the mountians, and we gave them hell most of the time!

ye most sea and air battles in norway was won by the british yes. i cant say what they did on land, cus i dont know. our resistance was light though so we did what we could. we still won major norwegian battles without british help u know. our resistance were most sabotage missions where we blow up loads of loads with german war ships(ask and ill tell). i didnt understand what u meant with "scandinavian brother stand together".. so explain it plz =)

all battles in Norway was won by thr allies. Norwegians didnt win anything because we didnt have an army, and the silly government refused to raise an army when we were attacked. In fact, people who voluntered at the nearly abandoned army camps were told to go home.

ofc we could stay in the mountians and wave down at the germans who starved or freezed to death while they climeb up the way in the mountians, but i think u know that when every single city is under german control, the mountians is for no good use when norwegian rebbels got shoot on the streets down in oslo.. am i right? holding back the germans in 3 months is good enough when their enemies were mostly norwegian farmers and atletics (and a light norwegian millitary, with a few winterwar vets)...

and btw!: finnland got help from norwegians, swedish and danish ppl during the winterwar! we stood together like brothers helping finland! ppl voulenterd from all around in scandinavia to help out our neighbourcountry against the red army, and finland didnt stay alone like we did after the french invasion when the brits, french and polaks had to move out to help france.. we stayed in finland helping them push the red army back!

However, You must consider to studdy the dutch situation after 2 days in the german attack. You will see that the germans where grind to a hold around fortress holland. You will see that it all that been attiefed without any help ( accept of some french who ren away in zeeland ). You will see that in hitlers frustration he decides to carpet bomb Rotterdam. You will see that in a few days new and better equipment and supplys from england where rolling in.572 planes of luftwaffe where shot down.

Did you know the story of the marines at rotterdam? only a few marines hold the bridges over the maas agains a brigade of paratroopers? and that, when the netherlands surrenderd and they saw who had made sure that they did not had succeed, the paratroopers soluded the few dutch marines out of respect? and that those marines mostly only had been trained for 3 months and wherent quallified marines?? The paratroopers gave them the name Black Devils ( because of there coats ).
