Hey, I met Tommy at Berklee. He came down to my private instructors room in the middle of my lesson. John Ramsay was the instructor. Tommy came in and John introduced Tommy and I said hi, nice to meet you. John said "do you know who he is"? Of course I did not. John looked at me like, Man what a loser. Tommy was cool though. Very nice guy. He said he was giving a mini concert at Tower records that night and I should come down and check them out. I sat like 8 feet off his right. He was amazing!!
@Tikitiki200 years ago i stopped by berklee on a saturday and walked around where the drum rooms were. i came across tommy's room and read the article that had tommy on the cover. long story short i studied with him for a month but what was really funny was my first lesson: i arrived there and he was finishing a lesson so he said he was going to walk the student to the front door. he said 'just play'. he left and i thoroughly enjoyed play his big set because i was playing on a 5-piece
@bangbettercom (cont.) well 20 minutes went by and he can in and the first words out of his mouth was "you definitely have musicality". tommy was hanging out listening from behind the door that whole time. LOL
A great musician and friend. Tommy, I miss your groove man.
