Their sound quality was far better than this film was able to capture. But it still brings back the deja vu.... I saw them in Pepperland in 1971. They now diss this material themselves, but it was aurally intense and moving, despite its lack of a cohesive theme.
Pink Floyd Live in Oakland 1977 3-disc 2CD/DVD set and Pink Floyd The Wall Live at Earl's Court 1980 DVD available at Tommygun Video please see our Youtube channel for link to web site/video and audio clips/more info
I guess the one that disliked this was for bothering and he/she actually loves this song as everybody should do pink floyd will live forever hell yeah!!!
@philcomte If you're suggesting that Floyd's genius was helped by drugs.... it wasn't. Only one interested in drugs was Syd - Nick never did anything, and Roger tried acid and didn't like it.
And on the 666th day, as Pink Floyd plays, my soul will leave the body, leaving emptiness and darkness, moving into an age of light and wandering forever. Absence is the presence of nothing.
I've been going through Pink Floyd videos for months and I just came across this. awesome upload! I'd love to see any more footage. Do you have any idea where this took place?
My favorite Floyd album, period. Kids these days get so hung up on classics like The Wall and DSTM and when you mention this album they're like "Adam Heart who?"
la wea inedita la cago el video cualkier awante ... en el 72 y les salia la raja atom hearth mother en vivo. richard right ql le pone mas ke el gera.. grande rengo!
One person is an absolute dud for disliking this masterpiece.Atom Heart Mother is a brillant album and Im stoked to actually be viewing this. Thanks for uploading friend!
am i alone in loving atom heart mother as an album? i think this proves that even though Roger Waters hates it feckin rocks . Obscured by clouds also worth a shout out!
@BoabWalker That was six months ago what a fuckin choone was always one of my favorites there is so many untapped Pink Floyd tunes it is unbelievable cool to see so many fans out there keep up the good work
Now I am absolutely intrigued about what system was used to record this. I guess it was the Philips VCR, which was released in Europe in 1972. It couldn't be the Cartrivision - it would allow you to do some decent video recordings, but you would have to drag a 80 pound equipament around. Couldn't be the EIAJ-1 either. What was it?
Today anyone can film an entire show in HD with his cell phone, recording a show back in 1972 was truly science fiction!
Greatest footage located in our universe if you ask me...it's like if we had discovered the eight wonder of the world! Something I had thought never existed..
This looks like the Germersheim festival on Insel Grun (Green Island) on the Rhine, May 1972. If so, this was a midnight concert with Rhine river fog and Pink Floyd's giant fog machine running towering clouds through those colored, pulsing light banks when they would take off for the sky.
I don't remember another band that played, but this was unforgettable.
It was billed as the 2nd British Rock Festival. In Germany.
The Doors minus Morrison were on the bill, but they didn't show.
Thank you all for the comments. I'm going through a tough period of life, and without a doubt the Floyd has made my life less crap, Pink Floyd, was and will forever be the best band in the world in my opinion.
Cheers! And don't forget to go to Roger Waters: The Wall- tour!
@BiggestE No other band can affect moods like the Floyd. Their music makes you just zone out and only focus on whats being played.. Saw Waters live in Atlanta..it was beyond amazing!..keep your head up man!
@BiggestE man you re right.the floyd was always with me for the good and the bad so with you.this music travelled the time.god bless them.everyday fan!!!!!!!
The way I often seen them in the Eraly 79th in Holland, there also was a concert with a full orchestra (AHOY???) .... bit out of tune hornsection as I recall.. but . great as well -H-
Atom Heart Mother is so damn underrated. Although maybe it's best that it's that way, just look at how much people bled dry Dark Side and reduced it to singles, ignoring the concept of the entire album.
you don't think that any of them were on a chemical mood enhancement substance do you?? Love the Floyd and the will always have a special place in history and time! Ride on P.F., ride on....
f************************* i wish i was there that's just amazing somehow it transported me back right there for a split of a second absolutely sublime, thank you so much for the video!!!.
There are *tons* of live AHM's on youtube alone, let alone the internet. Best versions: Jan 1970 Croydon / Paris, Feb 1970 Birmingham, Feb 1971 Hamburg (w/ full choir/brass, wow!)... happy shopping. Live AHM is always brilliant, but especially when it's just the band.

I think they hate this because is too difficult to reproduce live. because the horns and the vocal chorus. is more a studio opera imho
