  • They should have made the Liberator out of the same stuff as Vila's toupe.

  • Unfortunately after so many years has passed since Colin Baker has been cast before his DOCTOR WHO character,Ah think Colin Baker *Could have been a better canidate for the the BLAKE 7* with a little bit of help from the same type of Brown colored Curly haired type that Tom Baker had used a grey haired wig-Difference is,Colin Baker's hair *was REAL Blonde CURLY HAIR*,all Colin had to do was dye his Blondie natural hair into a brown haired version of himself. But nowadays, producers dont use dye

  • @LATEXDOLLTOMBOY What are you trying to say, do you think Colin Baker would have made a good Blake or not?

  • @rojblake82 Read the part again where Colin Baker couldve just dyed his hair Brown and played the part as BLAKE 7,Colin Baker wouldve played BLAKE just fine "IF" had been given that chance

  • I think B7 was a far better series than most people give it credit for and it should have continued for at leat ten seasons, instead of four I wish Blake had remained in the series longer than he did. It was a shame to lose Blake but Gareth Thomas foolishly left the series. I know if Colin Baker had played Blake instead of Gareth Thomas, he would have played Blake very differently to Gareth and also Colin would have stayed in the series for season three unlike Gareth Thomas. He would have stayed.

  • I think that if Colin Baker had been cast as Blake instead of Gareth Thomas he would have stayed in the series loger than Gareth did.I know that when Colin Baker played, Doctor Who he had every intention of staying with the part and he wanted to stay either as long as Tom Baker's seven years or longer even. I enjoyed Colin's role of Bayban in the series three episode, of Blake's 7 City at the Edge of the world which was a classic episode. I would love to have had Colin Baker cast as Blake.

  • @rojblake82 Colin Baker had gottont "The short end of the stick by the BBC" during his Doctor Who years, during Colin Baker's Time as the DOCTOR WHO,the shows ratings plummeted like a brick =(,But as to why Poor Colin Baker was BLAMED BY BBC for the low ratings,Ah cant say....Colin Baker was a Good Doctor Who (Altho Colin Bakers Character was remeniescient of the very first Doctor Who-GRUMPY WILLIAM HARTNELL>=) *)

  • @LATEXDOLLTOMBOY I wish Colin Baker had played Roj Blake, he would never had left B7 at the end of series two what do you say if anything to my thoughts that Colin Baker should have played Blake and he would have stuck in the role of Blake longer than Gareth Thomas did?

  • Ithink it was a shame that Gareth thomas, left the series after season two and we lost Blake which was a bloody shame. I am certain if a different actor like Colin Baker had played Blake instead of Gareth Thomas we would never have lost Blake. It is highly possible that if Blake had stayed in for series three, the show could have gone on much longer than it actually did. It is hard to say what would have happened , but I know Colin Baker had he played Blake he would have stayed in the series.

  • I know this is speculation but it is possible the Blake clone, from season two's episode weapon could have been the Blake Servalan claimed she saw dead on Jevron who knows? . I am surprised the fake Blake Servalan had created on terminal, was not an android like the android seen in series one's episode Project Avalon. I am surprised neither Blake or any of the other members of his crew, did not have android replics of them created at anytimein the show's history.I think an android Blake is good

  • I thought when I first saw this episode 1n 1980 that Blake had really come back to the programme , but it turned out to be a trap set up by arch-enemy servalan who sent Avon fake messages purporting to come from Blake. I also remember when Servalan told Avon that Blake was dead and cremated on the planet Jevron , and Servalan told Avon the Blake he saw was an illusion a hallucination done with powerful drugs. It made me wonder if the Blake clone from series 2 in Weapon died on Jevron .

  • @rojblake82

It's a good thought. But what if Blake died on Jevron and it was the clone on Galda Prime in the last episode?

  • @jlmww I suppose what you have said about what if Blake died on Jevron according to arch-enemy Servalan is a possibility and it could have been the clone on Gauda Prime in the last ever episode Blake. I suppose anything is a possibility in this series, I think it is a shme Colin Baker who played Bayban in city at the edge of the world did'nt play Blake instead of Gareth Thomas. If Colin Baker had played Blake, Colin would have remained in the series, Blake would nver have been lost at all.

  • I agree it is possible that Blake according to arch-enemy Servalan could have died on Jevron and the Blake we saw, on Gauda Prime could have been the clone. I have heard fans speculate the Blake in the last episode was a clone, but anything is possible in this series who can really tell?. I have also heard fans say there are possibly more than two Blake clones, created we cannot say for certain in any way at all.

  • @jlmww I have always been very curious about the statatus of Servalan's name, was it her forename, last name or was it the only name she had? I always myself assumed Servalan was her last name rather than her first name. If Servalan was her last second name,I would like to think her first name was Briony, melinda, Jeanette, Phillipa, Francesca, Melinda, Chloe or even Nadine as a possibility for a first name for the arch-enemy.I suppose we will never, find out after thirty three years.

  • @jlmww I am sure if B7 ever got remade, for television arch-enemy Servalan would most likely appear right from the very beginning in the pilot episode instead of appearing in episode six. I also wonder is it possible that there were lots more Blake clones, made in addition to the two seen in series two's episode weapon?I suppose anything is possible in this world, I know that many fans believe when Servalan told Avon Blake died on Jevron she was lying. It is possible Blake's clone died on jevron

  • @rojblake82 dont trust anyone, espscially servalan

  • @sandycurrie108 I agree Servalan been the arch-enemy and she was devious, and in my view the best character inB7 along with Avon and Vila.

  • Is it true that each actor was filmed separately in Blake & Avon's conversation, then spliced together?

  • @Dristarg

Oooo. I've never heard that, but it's interesting.

  • Paul Darrow is a wonderful player of villains and I don't understand why he isn't playing villains to this day. He would make a fantastic Bond villain or Moriarty

  • I never missed an episode of Blakes 7. Its is the best thing to come out of Great Britain. Back in my Uni days, I use to make up any excuse to watch Blake's 7 rather than go out. Well done BBC and cast.

Blakes 7 is still worthy watching today, in same vain as Hogans Heroes, whose humour is still funny 40 years on

  • I had no idea Blake was back here...

  • This was intended to be the last episode, so losing the Liberator makes sense. Its alien technology made '7 against the Galaxy' a bit more feasible. With Scorpio the odds are much higher against them.

  • At the time of watching this when I was a kid, I still got into the Scorpio and some of the new adventures but it was sad to see the old lady go too.

  • The show jumped the shark in series 3; what with their token "let's find Blake and Jenna" for 2 episodes before acting like they never existed and exploring the universe half-aimlessly, with the occasional Federation-centric script thrown in...

Series 4 was a remarkable turnaround, despite being commissioned at the last moment. With a new focus, goals, trying to survive, and with Avon going paranoid as the final series progressed... it's a shame people shrug it off so quickly. :(

  • Yeah, they pretty much jumped the shark when they lost the Liberator... new crew, new ship, almost nobody from the old series... I always preferred the first few seasons more!

  • I dont think they jumped the shark..

I think they wanted a good climax, the loss of the liberator was a pretty bold move with such an iconic part of the show

    But the cast thing i agree with, season 1 & 2 was better than 3 & 4 not saying 3 & 4 were worse either..lol

But the best stayed the entire run and HE was Kerr Avon (a.k.a) Paul Darrow.

His ability to steal every scene with his over acting is amazing but there is something in the way he delivers his line's that makes him so watchable.

  • thats a laff, someone in blakes 7 concernd wit continuity lol

  • it was a great shame to watch Zen die and the best ship in space blow apart.l was 13 when this episode aired and lm still grieving lol

  • I think it's really cool that Blake came back at key moments in the series.

This was a sci-fi series that was allowed the luxury of being ended properly after it was cancelled. "Blake" (the end of the series after this one) has become a classic in all of TV science fiction.

  • The end of this clip is the saddest moment in the entire show .. How can one remain dry-eyed when Zen says ... "I have failed you. I am sorry..."

  • I agree. I'm too Texan to actually cry, but it always makes my eyes water and my lower lip tremble a bit.

  • @jlmww When it takes *any Machine thats Sentinent takes that long to use I itstead of useing a First person name referrence to Itself* where people have gotton to know on personal level to say something like that, when the machine relizes it can actualy die,You better believe its Hallmark card saying sad goodbye moment

  • Indeed. That bit always gets me.
