That looks like it weighs more than the phone itself! 90% of my buttons are on the side and this tripod would do me no good. plus, texting would seem to be difficult with this thing, wouldn't it slide all over the place? i have a holder that secures the phone inside and clips on and off of my belt! BTW: why not get a larger desk? my laser printer would not even fit on your desk, my comp desk is 6 1/2 feet long by 3 foot deep and it barely holds all my equipment. need to upsize soon.

I have almost the exact same tripod without the clip and you can get them for around two or three dollars. What would be better would be to attach that clip to a gorillapod and you wouldn't even need a flat surface. You could clamp it on to just about anything. I do like the clip itself though.
