I reckon you need to consider both at all times: sometimes the technicals have the upper hand, at others the fundamentals, getting the balance right is all important. At the moment, I personally bias the news because the current stress/jumpiness on the markets is not overly technical. However, there have been more than a couple of occasions recently when the technical view of the situation has carried much more weight.

Do you think that fx trading in these times is more fundamental news driven (one a daily/weekly news basis) rather than with technical indicators?
