@LineagerFTW The scene was unbelievable! Felt like taken out of a video game or a movie. Some trees were hanging down towards the road due to the heavy snow on them. And I saw pheasant on the side of the road. The ray of sun glimmed trough the thick forest. But this is a common sight/scene during winter in the northern Sweden... :-)

Great video. For the first time in years in 2009 we also had snow in Amsterdam. But sadly we do not have a lot of free space where we can do this in our impreza GTT MY99. perfect sound and good edit wihtout anoying music degrading the engine sound. Please more of this in 2010.

@EvanFilms The only suspensionmod was TEIN lowering springs. But with Whiteline swaybars and droplinks it was pretty nice to drive even off the ice during summer.. Thanks! Though this Subie now has a new owner, I have bought a STi Type R instead! :-D

All you people from Sverige can drive so well. Imagine, though (I'm an Evo fan-don't mind it) how much more fun you could have with an Evo. I need to book a trip soon. That looks like an interesting way to learn to drive on ice. After ice, dirt should be easy.

Let's agree on that. :D Seriously though, I was only left wondering about one thing after watching your video-How do you know FOR SURE that you will not have trouble with the ice??? I'm here in Canada, so I know that even in a semi-cold climate, ice doesn't freeze that thick. I know it matters about how far north you go, but I don't trust it.

@Funeral4aFan I would never drive on a frozen lake without knowing it for sure will hold. There is tables which tells how much weight the ice is capable of bearing. But the icequality can vary, so to be sure we say 30cm thick ice is recommended, so you have the margins on your side. And we simply drill the ice on several places (because the thickness vary a lot) to control the thickness. :-)

Yes, I would. I had mine for 5 years without any problem at all. I don't know how the 6-cyl is like or how the characteristics are. But this 4-cyl is fun and quick when the road isn't straight. It's really much "bang for the buck".

Okay. You should, it's a wonderful car. Keep in mind that my car is a little tuned, so an original Impreza GT "drinks" less fuel.

11,3 liters per 100km for my normal driving, but I have been down at 9,2 liters per 100km sometimes. Playing on the ice it runs away, up to 38 liters per 100km. ;-)
