Mr.Jackson is, quite simply, my favorite Actor of all-time. Sam is truly unique in the fact that most actors who produce as much product as he does, the films have a tendency to "run-in" to each other, thereby diluting the quality, somewhat, of the performances. Sam somehow manages to bring a fresh creativeness & perspectiveness to each role he performs, making it quite difficult to ever tire of his "Greatness". Can one truly take the "Oscars" seriously, with Sam NOT a member of the club?

Honestly, there are MANY Black actors (male & female) who have YET to be discovered in Hollywood. Why? Just look at the number of roles available for a Black actor. You'll have an entire show with no Black actors in key roles. Even T.V. now is snot diverse like in the 80's. #1 Show in the 80's, Miami Vice; you had White, Black, Latino, throughout the primary cast let alone the supporting actors. Now, most shows may have a token person of color and then there are none.

Some people say things that made the committee angry regarding Sam Jackson, Pulp Fiction, etc., but I think that Sam really wants to win the Academy now because so many doors are open for Black actors since Denzel won. I don't know, maybe Denzel will get the nod for the Great Debaters. Although I like Samuel L, I will be surprised if he gets the Oscar for this movie, but then again, Oscars are usually given for a body of work. So maybe. Denzel, I don't think he will get it for American Gangster, but he did an excellent job, and again, I will be happy for him if he does. I will see Talk to Me for the 1st time on DVD, but I heard nothing but good things about it.

Sometimes they are given for a body of work, sometimes it is actually for the role though. This year it is pointing toward Daniel Day Lewis because of the preparation that he put into his role in There Will Be Blood(2 years) and his insane ability. The Oscars are political though, there is no doubt about that.
