  • this song fucks me up .. sends me to another dimension.

  • Some idiot whining to a drum beat is not even music never mind dubstep.....

  • Just heard Jazmine Sullivan - Resentment. Brought me back here.

  • its dubstep

  • isn't this more like minimal?

  • @dribod

doenst matter what it is .. its cool

  • Nope, this song is as amazing as when i heard it the second time. I say second time because when i first heard this song, i was like WTF is this?!? I dont understand this shit! How is this even music?.....Burial forced me to listen to something different. Since then its been Radiohead, Apparat, Egyptrixxx, Moderat, Modeselektor, Flying Lotus, Ikonika, DatSik, Excision, Skream, Benga, Four tet and Coldplay/Snow Patrol. I guess Burial taught me emotion>the beat itself.i know, cool story right bro?

  • who the fuck cares if it's Dubstep or whatever. It's just epic tune!

  • Why the heck isnt in mcdonalds on the vinyl???

  • I just like music.

  • burial always manages to bring out the most relaxed mood in me just perfect for sitting alone.

  • It's music, get the fuck over it.

  • dubstep is like the Anonymouse guys, its very different and very diverse. That's the way it should be.

  • @Regnier77 sorry I misspelled anonymous lol its 2:30 am

  • I got into burial through fan arguments on skrillex's videos... just putting it out there

  • Lol @ anyone who says skrillex is dubstep.. I'm just getting technical here but last I checked he's actually brostep (stupid name for a sub-genre)

  • Why the fuck do i see shit about Skrillex on every Burial tune! Where the fuck is the connection?

  • @dandy188 dubstep

  • @ez2animate Yea but why Skrillex of all people? There's plenty of Dubstep artists out there.

  • @dandy188 He's the most mainstream artist in America atm. And the faggots that like to argue about dubstep are in America.

  • @ez2animate Ah i see. Agreed these people are definitely faggots!

  • @riotoftheangels lol seriously this songs shitloads closer to dubstep than most skrillex and skrillex is baitly way closer to lady gaga than burial. and the people who dont like skrillex are usually old school dubstep fans who dont like the fact that electro house is being passed off as dubstep. i have nothing against skrilex i think he has some decent stuff. its people like you i have a problem with. stupid and ignorant. go fuck yourself :D

  • Well, I like Skrillex and I like Burial. Fuck the haters.

  • why are the top two comments of this masterpiece of music about shitty skrillex? :(

  • play with rainymood (dot) com makes it sound better, adds a sorta cracked vinyl touch to it :)

  • yeah skrillex is better when it comes to dubstep. this is kinda repeatin itself but this is good too. stop the fukin flame war n the new youtube sux!

  • I usually listen to metal and have been branching out to electronic music a lot lately. Can someone tell me what the fuzz over this kind of dubstep is over? To me it seems like some loose drum pattern, a bass pattern and some guy singing without following any sort of scale. That's what I find in this music. I don't hate it, I don't dislike it, I just don't get with the flow.

Can anyone tell me what it's all about..?

  • @MrUberAnarchist The reason why it does that is because it's not metal.

  • @MrUberAnarchist For me it's about the swing, the pushed beats, the slow attack sub bass, the space in which it resides, the huge wet reverbs that entomb you, the stellar vocals and not that they're not following a key, which they are, but what they suggest to you, the understated minimalism at 5:36 . I love its ability to be something in the background, something to sleep to, or it can be as big a spectacle as you like. It's just so smooooth. But if it's just not for you that's equally fine.

  • @MrUberAnarchist it's the ambience that makes this track and all of burials track have such an effect on you. the space that is in the track, the uncluttered feel too it is smooth and sublime. the singing is a sample from an r&b track, which is common in burial's production. he has alot of 2-step elements in his music, one could say it's the backbone of most of his tracks.

  • I enjoy Burial AND Skrillex.

    What now, bitches?

  • Masterpiece - contemporary presents outstanding British musical creation!

  • It is Dubstep of the early 2000s,what most of the people listen to today is shite imho

  • Its all because she fucking lied... i hate her...

  • @FatalFistFury dont vctimize urself .. ur happiness is worth a gold

  • I really like this, but... it's not dubstep...

  • @MrPowney ye neither is skrillex mate

  • @domstapl | Where did I said that? ;)

  • @MrPowney Actually, it is

  • @MrPowney This is the essence of dubstep...

  • @MrPowney It is dubstep. dubstep used to be like this before poeple added wobbles and shit to it.

  • Burial is so deep.

  • @ojigbeready soooo deeeeeep mate..

  • To me this is up there with the best Tangerine Dream/Klaus Schulze/1967-75 Pink Floyd but with the post 1988 raving conscuiousness too

  • Is there a full version of the melodic bit near the end? That bit is awesome

  • @mepwnubigtime1 HAHA nice one :D

  • @mepwnubigtime1 close enough

  • @mepwnubigtime1 they are quite a bit alike in my opinion.

  • @mepwnubigtime1 Disturbed is better I liked them first.

  • @theloopmasta The man who is more successful than Burial

  • @SimpleChilla

    music isn't about success dickhead

  • @AnRTPgA

Who gave you shit in the head?

Your Mom,Dad or maybe..BURIAL! WTF, Idiot!

  • @SimpleChilla

At least burial makes thoughtful music, instead of "CALL 911 NOW!!! OUAEBGEJBPOIUEBVFPAOEIUBFIUWBPFJBFPU!"

  • @AnRTPgA hahahaha fukin rofl nice 1

  • @SimpleChilla

    u Suck

    .

  • This video was just added to a music playlist at JustPlay.fm

  • I heard the track "Alone" by "through walls",it does remind me of burial alot! Really good too.

  • Y u hate skrillex just cuz he's famous?

  • Tuning in to my Burial Playlist...

airsoftjunkie2, I totally know how you feel. Nothing can express this like Burial...

  • when music stops beeing "fuck yeah, this is good!" and starts beeing beautiful.

    burial ...

  • no matter what i do i cant find a genre that matches what burial does.

  • @A1akaA2z Future Garage, Burial pretty much made it

  • You freaking kill the idea of music when you so desperately try to genre label it - it's pretentious and ignorant.

  • @amorastella

have to agree with u... why can't people just sit back and enjoy ...

  • This is hyperdub, not dubstep

  • @Barff you sure about that mate?

  • Comment removed

  • Respond to this video... yes fella

  • @Barff Hyperdub is a label, not a genre, buddy boy.

  • dubstep comes from 2 step garage, not dub reggae. the word dub was used because it was derived from the darker, instrumental, more experimental garage b-sides, or "dubs".

  • times infinity.

  • w w w . rainymood . com

Play with this song AT THE SAME TIME ;))

    The effect is amazing!! ;)))

  • I like Burial and Skrillex :>

  • you can't compare burial and skrillex...

both got their own style ...and now listen and fall into the universe ;)

  • 12 years old and listen to this loving it man

  • at parties I prefer Skrillex, at home I prefer this and the oldschool dubstep.

Stop whining about totally different genres of dubstep ppl

Burial - Archangel was the one taking my dubstep-virginity

  • Skrillex is much better.

  • @DroiidLife Skrillex is like the pop music of dubstep. Burial is like the radiohead of dubstep. By that I mean Skrillex is shit and Burial isn't.

  • @navox377 You are very right, sir.

Also, I'm still wondering in which way this is regarded to be dubstep

  • @b3naan Dubstep started out from the genres Dub and 2-step. Dub is an electronic genre that usually has an emphasis on bass and/or drum style, with random vocal samples (usually reggae). 2-step/Garage is an electronic genre from the UK, that i admit I don't know too much about, but I know it has a strange drum pattern and that burial has this type in his music. Emphasis on bass and random vocal samples + 2-step beat = Dubstep. Though to be honest I don't care bout genre that much lol.

  • @navox377 I thought Dubstep was Dub mixed with early Jungle music.

  • @mrbloke11 I'm not a genre expert but I'm pretty sure 2-step/garage is a big influence to the genre. Though that also might be true. All I know for sure is I love this shit and glad it came around :3

  • @mrbloke11 No, 2 step and UK garage evolved from very early jungle. Dubstep's only real ties to dub are some ambient bass lines.

  • @navox377 Saying that something is the Radiohead of anything is just insulting them.

  • @jlmdfnbo Not a radiohead fan then? haha

  • @navox377 UM BITCH. Skrillex is THE shit. Not shit. So maybe you're just confused on the difference between good and bad music. That has to be it, cause the only people who don't like Skrillex are the ones who don't know that Dubstep exists or the people that listen to preppy shit like Lady Gaga or some stupid music like that.

By this, I mean that Skrillex is a fucking god. c:

  • @RiotoftheAngels LOL. Skrillex is killing dubstep. Do your research.

  • @RiotoftheAngels you must be mad! there are thousands if not millions of people who know dubstep exists, dont listen to lady gaga and despise skrillex... you've actually made such a sweeping and rediculous statement it just proves how retarded skrillex fanboys can be... the audacity to post a comment like that on a burial song is just unreal. Skrillex is not a god! If anyone, Burial is the god. your comment is blasphemy of the highest degree. I hope your speakers explode.

  • @RiotoftheAngels I wish to inform you that your statement where you proclaimed that "people who don't like Skrillex are the ones who don't know that Dubstep exists" is utterly and completely false. Dubstep was created in the UK and was a mixture of dub and garage/2-step. It sounded nothing like the dance music that comes out nowadays that sounds like DNB raped with a wobble bass. Also you Implied that I listen to lady gaga, I do not. I enjoy the pleasure of listen to music like Radiohead.

  • @RiotoftheAngels Love the ignorance spouting from your comment. I nobody catches your stupid.

  • @DroiidLife I gave skrillex a listen to last night and he sucks like all it is is just noise :/

  • who the FUCK is skrillex?

  • @theloopmasta i think its some queer guy who gives free aids to hobos

  • @crackerstolemybike maybe, but i noticed he's like the justin bieber of dubstep

  • @theloopmasta True dat

  • I still remember the first time I heard this and how absolutely blown away I was by it. Burial's music is so fucking ground-breaking. There's no dubstep I've heard since that can top Burial and he literally inspired all the dub that came after him.

  • @grimreefer4 mt Eden remixed burial, burial did not remix mt Eden. It's burial - archangel ( mt Eden remix )

  • Came here after listening to:

-Mt Eden - Archangel ( burial remix )

    -Then the original archangel

-Then Ray j - one wish

wow an amazing musician, feel so lucky to have found this guys music.

  • i dont even understand how you can compare burial to any other music he is in groundbreaking territory one of the greatest composers of our time and your childish squabbling will never change this fact ! if you know anything about production which i am assuming most of you do not, the way that burial manipulates vocals is amazing and to make a sound so full whilst keeping all the elements at a minimal is bloody hard !!! trust i know ! if you dont like it jog on & dont leave comment as you leave!

  • This has totally changed what I think of dubstep, what it is.

  • FUCK SKRILLEX

  • /watch?v=fzN_CQ1qFYI >>> Please! Go to this video theres some saying that SKRILLEX IS BETTER THAN BURIAL please go there and tell him hes wrong and how much he sucks DICK go and save BURIAL!! because he thinks SKRILLEX IS THE BEST go!!

  • @ParanormalDub1997 Stop getting so mad and feeding the trolls.

  • Stop talking about Skrillex ffs enjoy the tune man go to Skrillex if you wanna talk about skrillex, otherwise FUCK OFF

  • @DroiidLife

    1/10, that's the best I can do

  • what you taken skrillex doesnt even compare

  • @DroiidLife pleaase tell me u joking..

  • @DroiidLife I know you probably like Skrillex now, thats because you've just begun to tap into to the world of dubstep. Skrillex has just been glamorized. I know he's good but hes no where near to the emotions that Burial creates. DNB in my opinion should capture what Bach or Mozart's minuets capture using electronic drum kits and vocal samples. I agree skrillex is creative but its not the same. Skrillex is meant for partying. Burial is meant to heal the broken heart.

  • @FatalFistFury cool story bro, thumbs up if 22 listen to justin bieber

  • @DroiidLife Holly cow !! I do !!! J beeebs is epic!

  • @DroiidLife uncultured swine

  • @DroiidLife Then fuck off and listen to skrillex, cock rot.

  • @DroiidLife Untrue

  • @DroiidLife You're a stupid retard.

  • @DroiidLife *meets at cemetery* *gives shovel* Start digging.

  • @DroiidLife skrillex? xD ROFL!

  • @DroiidLife That's like saying saying a rap artist is better than a rock artist. You're supposed to compare apples to apples not watermelons. It's strictly boils down to one's personal preferences in music.

You are entitled to your opinion, but Skrillex does not make deep, ambient, "hyperdub", he makes mindless, chaotic, "dubstep."

I am not hating on Skrillex. I like his music. But I love Burial.

I don't even know how to classify Burial, genre-wise.

  • @jusTlikehmf2 Burial is 2-step, a subgenre of garage with heavy UK garage elements. "Hyberdub" is a label, not a genre.

And Skrillex is garbage; he's probably the worst dubstep I've EVER heard.

  • this song is pure awesomeness,i fucking loving it ..and i fell different when i listen it!!

  • OMG ! :O

    magnificant !

    burial ftw today

  • any1 know where he gets his vocal samples from? ...does he sing?

  • @realcoolking95 beyonce.

  • Been listening to Burial on a daily basis since his first release and there has NEVER been a single moment where I have felt bored with his music!

Jesus, that has never happened to me before and I am quite old!!

    Utter fucking GENIUS!!!

  • @TheSilverDubber ova9000% agree.

  • that is STRONG!! fucking geenius that is it...

  • to me this album and especially this tune is up there with the second movement of Vangelis 'Heaven and Hell', Pink Floyd's 'A Saucerful of Secrets' and some of the earlier Tangerine Dream/Klaus Schulze as the most beautiful music made outside classical music.

  • that guitar? at the end, Sound of heaven its self

  • Black color.

  • THIS.

  • Whatever he did there at the end in the deep bass tones is where all the magic is. More. Of. That.

  • song speaking some serious truth about shit I'm in at the moment... ffs

  • still burned i dropped $30 on the wax before realizing they cut the ambient bits from it. i want the whole thing, dammit!

  • what a crazyyyyy song..

  • yeah!!

  • at times like this in my life burial is the only thing that can help me -_-

  • beat sounds like something from Fantastic Mr fox. what sofware do these producers use??

  • I think this music appeals to most city dwellers life myself. We understand the lonely feeling of living of the city even though the environment is chaotic. Ironically though, at the same time it can become sterile, predicable, and very bleak.

  • you are in the train, nobody near you. it's very late and it's raining. only thing that you can see through a dirty window is an industrial landscape....

  • 1:55 B)

  • Has anyone else noticed the subtle sound of the lightswitch in this track?

  • @abetrasken

    subconsciously: yes

consciously: not until you pointed it out.

    haha, weird! :D

  • @CloudStrifeOfficial I only realised it very recently, it came about as a set of epiphanies that helped me get my head out of my arse and start looking around me. And I've been trying to point it out to people for the last week or so, most people don't wanna hear it, it makes me happy that you did. Now point it out to some other people, and maybe they'll point it out to some more others. This is how you can make a difference in your own individual life

  • The world is quiet here.

  • shit , i hear vocals ...IT must be an r&b tune then ...but wait the beat is broken ...oh no ... it must be some kind of break beat ,,,what the H ...i hear other elements compelling me to class this as some kind of dub ...steps are used to make this some 2-stepy..how will i ever sleep easy not knowing how to class this genre..oh snap ,

  • It's actually a brand new category of music that' s been labelled "night bus" after Burial's debut album, which seems to be the first of it's kind. Some people are calling it "post-dubstep" too. Think of it as Chillwave crossed over to the dark side.

  • doesn't need a category

  • @jaffaorange187 people like categories, for some reason

  • @HFZARGOV same reason they like trolleys in the supermarket.

  • @HFZARGOV People always liked categories, and always will. It's in the groups we put ourselves into, in the borders that separate us into nations, in the invisible lines that divide up our combined consciousness, it's the root and representation of all the worlds problems. Nature doesn't organise itself in this way, none of it is really there.

  • @abetrasken all animals group themselves for safety. even within the same species lions packs attack other lion packs, tigers attack @unknown' tigers. even fish will do the same. can you imagine if a siberian tiger strolled into a pack of indian tigers....shit would hit the fan. nature is very organised, granted it is all coincidence but there is phenominal organisation there. i mean look at the food chain, and thats just one very small aspect of it.

  • @Ricko1754 it's only called a chain because that's the easiest way for humans to sort it, nature is chaos, a random and infinitely complex cause and effect sequence. I wasn't saying that animals don't compete and group together to further the process of evolution, I guess what I was saying is that I feel our species, with it's self-aware, conscious mind, and powerful curiosity, should have evolved past the need to divide ourselves into groups, it's not necessary for us we could be so much better

  • i just like it! no matter style or whatever. It is emotional music that moves your soul

  • "Perhaps most importantly, his basslines sound like nothing else on Earth. Distorted and heavy, yet also warm and earthy, they resemble the balmy gust of air that precedes an underground train." - Derek Walmsley - The Wire Primers

Spot on description of Burial's bass.

  • I want to take away the man's vocals and slow down the beat. Too chill.

  • The bass sounds just like bouncing a tennisball and a basketball simultaneously! :)

  • how many time must I like this to eliminate those 13 retards???

  • For all those who want to bring this to a whole new level:
