Michael Carneal is not the entirely the one to blame, yes killing is wrong, but the way he was treated is straight up fuck up, and that its not surprising that he felt like an outcast in the school. ive never heard of any school deliberately avoiding the holocaust as a subject. however schools do generally have quite a lot of autonomy and may simply choose to teach other periods of history.

But what I can say with certainty is that gun control makes people safer. in Britain in 2005/06 the muder rate was 1.4/100,000. 6.6% of those were commited with guns. In the same period in the USA the muder rate was 5.5/100,000 with 70% of them being commited with guns
i can definitely make an educated guess as to why things have changed. we need to return to the christian morality which made america great. my state(texas) has the most lenient gun laws, and has never had a school shooting. meanwhile, the places with the strictest gun laws(california, nyc, washington dc) have the highest gun crime rates year after year.

Michael Carneal is not the entirely the one to blame, yes killing is wrong, but the way he was treated is straight up fuck up, and that its not surprising that he felt like an outcast in the school. There shouldn't be gun control, that's not going to stop it, its the way students treats others that will stop things like this from happen, people like Carneal and Cho were all bullied, made fun of and misunderstood. Gun control would help. Also banning meaningless violence in movies and media. North Hollywood guys had been watching HEAT for example. Of course... if u have a "bully-culture" raising social awareness concerning this phenomena and creating opinion against it would probably be the most important solution. England has had one successful attack from muslim terrorists. Apart from that we DID have a lot of trouble with the IRA, who were funded by Americans. (for those who don't know this bit of British history, the IRA just ignored the fact that Northern Ireland voted TWICE to remain in the UK. Instead they started blowing things up and shooting people.)

i never said that high crime PROVES freedom, but it SOMETIMES can show how free a nation is. more govt regulation reduces crime AND freedom. the US has always had a higher crime rate than europe, but we have also always had more rights. as for mexico, i live a few hours away from mexico, and can honestly say that RURAL mexicans have far more freedom than most western nations. they dont have to deal with constant govt interference in their lives.

the gun violence in modern america has nothing to do with gun rights. when my dad was in school, there were more guns, yet less crime. the cause is that european secularism and moral bancruptcy has invaded the US. we cant pray in our classes, teachers cant mention JESUS or read the bible to students anymore, the school nurses promote abortion and birth control, and sadly, this is a result.

its funny how foreigners seem to think they know more about america than americans do. america did not become secularized until the 60s. up until that time, the majority of public schools had mandatory prayer and bible study. abortion was a felony. no public official was elected who was not jew or christian. franklin roosevelt often led the nation in prayer to JESUS CHRIST and reffered to christianity as "our nation's religion".

That's secularism, and was ratified on Dec 15th 1791...........so, it would seem, and this is just my personal, subjective impression, that i know more about america than an american..care to comment?

i didnt mean to insult you, and i apologize if i did. but your lack of understanding of our first amendment reflects the same mistake liberal americans make today. the clause you quoted simply means that the united states will not have an official church. it was always understood that america was a christian nation. it was in the 60s that the supreme court banned mandatory prayer in school, bible study in school, etc and public morality ran amok.

times change, I dont think either of us are really able to make a suitably educated guess about what causes such drastic social change. But what I can say with certainty is that gun control makes people safer. in Britain in 2005/06 the muder rate was 1.4/100,000. 6.6% of those were commited with guns. In the same period in the USA the muder rate was 5.5/100,000 with 70% of them being commited with guns

i can definitely make an educated guess as to why things have changed. we need to return to the christian morality which made america great. my state(texas) has the most lenient gun laws, and has never had a school shooting. meanwhile, the places with the strictest gun laws(california, nyc, washington dc) have the highest gun crime rates year after year.

you should also add that the vast majority of guns used in crimes are either stolen or smuggled from overseas. if guns are illegal, only criminals will own guns. the soviets and the nazis banned private gun ownership. the pearl, miss school shooting was stopped by a law-abiding gun owner. since texas reintroduced the right to bear arms in public, the violent crime rate has dropped year after year.

America had more soldiers than britain, so when we fought in the same place its logical that there woudl be more americans. Britons also planned d-day. Colonial soldiers were not labelled as "british" but known as "colonial soldiers" and anyone would have lost to the nazis at the start. They were simply the best army in the world.

That is her faith in God that we see shinning through. She has forgiven her shooter, gone on with her life and is making the best she can of a bad situation.

Screw the right to bear arms! I find it hilarious when people are so shocked that kids who were neglected tend to do these hideous crimes. There are only 2 ways of dealing with people force and reason. It is logical to have debates and discussion with rational people. How you would have a reason with a drug addicted child rapist with an erection is beyond me. The only moral response to force is overwhelming force.
The reason you see it as illogical is based on how morality is defined. I define it as a set of guild lines to live my life by. Not a strict code to justify the sacrifice of innocent people.

Government officials and the rich don't have a need for it since they have body guards bunkers armored cars security systems. etc etc. Other than a gun the only thing keeping an attacker from you and your home is a thin door with a cheap lock on it.

History has proven that the death penalty has never detered crime. However, having said that, I do know for a fact it deters criminals one at a time from killing again.
Ted Bundy hasn't killed anyone lately, nor has Timothy McVeigh and hundreds of others.
BTW...The last public hanging was held a about 100 miles from Paducah.
